Pros: Does a good job, reasonably priced, dogs like him and relatively friendly. Cons: Only means of communication is by phone or in person. Seeing as they never, and I mean never, answer their phone and nowadays don't return phone calls, the only way to get an appointment is to walk in during business hours and schedule. I had been taking my two goldens here for a few years and had to schedule at the time of pick up for 3 months out. Not a big deal but the last time I was told to book online and then never found where I could actually do that, there is no website. Called and called and never a return call back. Like most people, I don't have time to drive to the shop during the day just to schedule an appointment. Had no choice but to find another groomer. John is an amazing person and talented dog groomer. He accommodated us with a last minute appointment. Our 8 month old Golden Retriever, Bella, is nervous around new people. He was calm and gentle with her as he led her to the back. He told me she'd be done in one hour. When I got there she was ready to go and having fun with the other pups that were there. She looked great, was trimmed just right, was so soft and, smelled SO GOOD! I'm unsure why there are bad reviews for John, he's as good as it gets and works hard. If he takes a weekend off, he deserves to and shouldn't get bad reviews because of it. If you can't pick your dog up in time, he isn't a doggy daycare and honestly should charge YOU a fee if you don't pick your dog up in one hour because then he has to make sure your dog is taken care of while he puts his scheduled appointments aside. That's not cool. Anyways, I'm off on a tangent. John is always nice, smiling, loves animals and is accommodating as long as you don't take it for granted. John is absolutely phenomenal. My dog is a 100lb pit/Shepard mix puppy that is protective of me and has to meet strangers in very specific ways in order to be calm and friendly with them. I warned John about my dog's quirks and asked for a nail trim which he HATES. I was met with calm confidence. When we arrived and I'm watching to see what happens John walks around the counter and kneels face to face with my dog. I'm ready to prevent something bad from happening and instead of dog licks him happily in the mouth. I've never seen him be so immediately trusting and comfortable around anyone. My little poodle became disabled due to her IVDD, and my usual groomer for my 2 dogs for the last couple of years refused to service her due to her condition. Let me start off by saying that my dogs absolutely hate going to the groomers. They always shake, cry, cower and whine when we take them and they are always clawing at the door when it's time to leave; like we can't get them out of there fast enough. Not to mention the couple of hours it takes for them to calm down once they get home. But, after tonight, I won't ever have to worry about that again! When we dropped them off for their first appointment tonight it was a nice, calm, welcoming environment for them to explore and get to know before starting their grooming experience. Not to mention they were the only dogs there. John was super nice and you could tell he really cared about my babies (a malti-poo mix and a min-pin mix). Inside the salon it was very clean and nicely finished with up to date decor. When it was time to start grooming we left because the dogs seemed right at home. After an hour we received the call that they were done! 1 hour!!! Not the typical 3+ hours it usually takes because of the many dogs they have double and triple booked in the back. When I walked in to pick them up they were so calm and relaxed! It was like, "oh hey, your here." Not, "oh my god your here, thank god let's go!!!" like they usually are when we pick them up. Oh, and they looked great! Their hair is so soft, bright and fluffy! The cut was great and it fits them really well! They also had cute little thanksgiving bandannas on too! The car ride home was calm and they are acting like they never even left. I'm so happy I was referred here. It's such a relief knowing my dogs are going to be well cared for while receiving a great haircut at the same time. We definitely won't be taking our babies anywhere else! Thank you John! read more

We have been going to John since he opened at the little strip mall on Hazel. Our little shitzu mix has an attitude and she snapped and Would not let groomers work on her. We tried John and she fell in love with him. He's the only one that can touch her face and he does a fabulous job grooming her.
