If you are a big commercial account, no problem. If you are a little guy needing a repair, there are much better places close by to go to.

This is in reference to my old toro mower not being properly repaired after 3 trips to Kiwi Mower…read moreRepair in Centralia. The toro would not start without starter fluid. After 3 trips to Kiwi shop, Kiwi started the mower, declared the mower fixed and graciously sent me on my way. A few days later I get the old Toro out to use and again it failed to start. Those 3 trips amounted to about 150 miles of travel, several hours of my time and all for the same complaint each time - It would not start without starter fluid. On the 4th follow up to defective work Kiwi would not answer my emails or calls. Prior to trying Kiwi shop I used J&S mower repair in Winlock and the Power Shop in Centralia for small engine work. Sherry from J&S recommended Kiwi after J&S shut down due to Washington's covid restrictions. Kiwi initially worked on 2 mowers - a craftsman and the toro. The craftsman mower needed minor work which was a new spark plug and spark plug wire. This turned out well, however, the old Toro continued to be a problem. It would not start without starter fluid. The first 3 times I called Kiwi, they said to bring it back. The 2nd and 3rd time I watched the mower work being done. I believed the technician when he said it was fixed. On the 4th attempt Kiwi would on respond to my complaint. I then took the old Toro mower to the Power Shop. I have used the Power Shop for 20+ years on my 4 riders, 2 weed whackers, 5 generators, log splitter, 7 walk behind mowers, and 3 chain saws without any returns or follow up issues. The Power Shop has never once failed to fix my equipment right the first time. Upon inspecting the old Toro the Power Shop determined the choke thermostat was defective. They replaced it and the old Toro runs like new and starts on the first pull. The Power Shop returned the broken parts. The choke thermostat spring was clearly sticking - when playing with the thermostat you could feel it sticking. You would think Kiwi would recognize such a simple problem. They did not. Now that the problem is known you would think Kiwi being a reputable business would refund the $40 they charged for an improper diagnosis and non-repair. Under the circumstances it would seem appropriated to refund the $40 plus tax for this item. Kiwi will not - Kiwi refuses to respond to my follow up requests.

I brought my riding mower to Kiwi because the belt kept slipping off. I asked them to check it…read moreover to make sure everything was in working order for the summer mowing. I paid $385.13 for a tune up, oil and filter change, riser arm replacement, spindle replacement and blade sharpening. When I went to pick it up, the service tech drove it right off of the loading dock. Fortunately, he was not injured, so they loaded my mower into my truck with ramps. When I got it home I found out the blades were not sharpened and the brakes didn't work (that was probably why he drove it off of the ramp). Also the belt tensioner was all but frozen, the belt keepers were bent or missing, and the belts were badly worn. I tried mowing but the belt kept coming off. Then it broke. My lawn is half way mowed and Kiwi won't answer the phone. Not happy.
