So I took a picture from the ground and then stopped by Platt to see if they could help me. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and after showing the photo to the salesman, he said there are only 3 bulbs that might work in the light, but one was pretty big, so it was immediately discarded. So he went in the back and came out with 2 bulbs, a 250w and a 400w, and told me to return the one that is the wrong size for a refund. Can't beat that. Very nice guy but I didn't get his name. A few weeks later my neighbor shows up with his 'new' (used) toy, a Genie Lift with a 40' high reach! He showed me how to operate it but wanted to take it up himself the first time. Within minutes he popped off the cover and removed the bulb, the 250w flavor. We were cooking with gas. He had other things to do and left the lift with me for a week and so I decided to relocate my weather station to a more accessible spot because it was higher than the streetlight. Anyway, I took the 400w bulb back to Platt and as soon as I said I needed to return one of the two HPS bulbs I bought he said 'I'm the one who sold this to you'. I had a few more electrical things to purchase and within minutes he was back and processed the return and the new purchase together and I was soon on my way. I've gone in Platt at different locations and this level of service is the same throughout and refreshing to see and experience.

I got lucky about the timing to replace the 33 year old panel, as it was on its last legs. I don't know how large this company is, but I have had Blake Dallum, here doing all the work. As you might imagine, cutting through drywall and removing insulation is very messy. All the work has been done with care and respect for my home, and a 77 year old woman, while living in a construction zone in progress. As my very good contractor hired North Ridge, I don't know how they compare with pricing, but the work has been excellent, and I don't hesitate to recommend.
