What I love most is how comfortable the studio staff makes everyone feel, regardless of age, artistic experience, or skill level. There's no pressure to be "good at art." This is a vibrant place to explore, create, have fun, and express yourself. The atmosphere is warm, encouraging, and genuinely joyful. I love that Noel Art Studio creates an experience where kids and adults can both feel at home. My niece had a wonderful time, and I loved being able to share that experience with her. So.... We immediately made a reservation for a class and got a private class 2 weeks later. And here we are... The class was so fun! We started with a clump of clay and ended up with wonderful, functional, and pieces of art. Our teacher, Leah, was a great teacher! She was patient and explained everything! She had the perfect balance of teaching and then letting us work the clay a little of our own way. She kept us on track so we actually made 2 very unique pots. Very unique is my way of saying crooked and lopsided but lots of character. Lol We had a solid hour and got to work a few different pieces. For the price and friendliness and fun, I suggest this class for beginners or any level really. Oh! And check out the awesome pottery for sale! Leah is an amazing artist with some very nice pieces for sale.

My girls have grown so fast into accomplished little artists! The price is more than reasonable for what you get. Makeup classes are available for when the child is sick (give 2 hours notice) or on vacation. You can also do drop-in classes if you call ahead. I highly recommend Little Artists for being that rare kids' class that actually works to impart skills.

Great stress relief for the moms in our group! Love that we can bring our own snacks and beverages (and no corkage fees). There are many paintings on the wall so you can see what others have created. Dora was our instructor and she was great. She took her time showing us how to create our masterpieces! I loved how she reminded us to take a drink to help us relax and not stress over our work! Fun time meeting new people and at the end seeing how different everyone's artwork turned out! Some even took liberties and invented new animals....spotted hyena-giraffe (Sandra!)! Haha Parking is the only issue but if you arrive early you shouldn't have to spend too much time looking. Try parking in the neighborhoods behind the studio. Some parked in the Vons parking lot but I advise against it as there are signs you will be towed. Thanks for a great time Dora!! We all had a blast and we will be back!!

I know potters, whether professionals or hobbyists, who swear by their products from across the world, so when I found out they had a store in San Diego... well, I had to stop by. First of all, the store itself has limited hours. They mostly run their business online, so make sure you check their hours before visiting. They are well-stocked with most of their items, and though there was only one employee, he was so patient with all my questions and willing to check the backstock for any items I wanted to take a look at! There are sample tools and swatches of every item they have, from their famous carving/trimming tools, handle extruders, glaze swatches, and even samples of bisque/finished pieces that have been sanded with their diamond sanding products. They also sell a healthy selection of Aardvark clays (both cone 5 and cone 10 varieties) and offer a discount if you buy more than 50 lbs. I bought 50lbs of clay, a couple of carving tools, and a variety of sanding pads. I wanted to get a set of their diamond sanding discs as well, but they were completely sold out after the holidays. I think I'll be buying those online, but it's really nice to be able to see everything in person before purchasing!

My partner and I decided to take a tufting class with Nick and it was such an awesome experience! Nick is very knowledgeable about the world of tufting and offers a positive, laid back approach to diving into this craft, whether it's for fun or to make tufting into a small business venture. Nick thoroughly walked us through the steps of making a rug and offered suggestions throughout the entire process. I was able to pick his brain to really understand his process of creating rugs and what it takes to create perfect lines, how to carve and shave to create dimension, and even how fabric selections can alter the appearance and the feel of the rug. I've learned so much from the classes I've taken under Nick's instruction. To this day, I'm still tufting and improving my craft (and still bother Nick from time to time on Instagram :) ). I even completed my first commission recently! Seriously, take a class with Nick and absorb as much information as you can. Whether you're serious about perfecting your skills or just want a fun date idea, don't hesitate to book a class! It's so worth it! Not to mention, you get a pretty awesome piece of artwork that you can say you made yourself.
