OB Antique Mall is a pretty cool antique store on OB's main drag Newport Ave…read more They carry a large assortment of all sorts of different items from different eras. I particularly enjoy the baseball (specifically Padres) memorabilia. I really like the old beer signs and such. I'm not well versed in the world of antiques as far as what something's worth or value is. Therefore, I'm not sure if the prices are any better or worse compared to similar inventory at other stores. That said, an old Schaffer beer tin sign for $85 seemed a bit steep. It is fun to walk around and look at all the old stuff. You just might come across that perfect "thing".

The cool about this place is it displays many different vendors in one spot. Which I did not realize before I went here. Each vendors have their own booth/area and they decorate their own vibe and style based on what they're selling. I saw many different items that you can find here in one place. Especially for collector item as well. They had items for people who love baseball, Christmas, Goth, French style, bohemian, 90s. Etc. it's honestly never ending. I was able to find a few different items for my house and for my own collection. I thought the price were fair. And they also offer changing rooms if you wanted to try on some of their clothes. There were some displays that needed keys to get in, which was very easy to get someone to help you to open those cases. The lady in the front who checked me out was very friendly. This place was genuinely a great surprise, and I will definitely be back some other time.

They had a lot of really cool stuff but I had an uncomfortable first experience. While I was…read morebrowsing, an employee followed me around the store, which made me feel uncomfortable. When I asked if you accepted credit cards, I was told the card would have to be verified by contacting the credit card company. I asked if this was done for everyone, and I was told yes. However, after reading other reviews and the owner's responses, it seems different customers are given different explanations of the verification process, which makes the policy seem inconsistent. Honestly, I only bought a $5 pair of earrings with cash, but I had planned on coming back to shop for more. Instead, I left wondering: at what purchase amount does this verification happen? Is it for every credit card transaction, or only certain customers? I wasn't expecting a simple question about payment methods to turn into a discussion about verifying my identity. The whole interaction left me feeling unwelcome, and I hope whatever policy is in place is applied consistently to every customer.

They house "East County Vinyl" inside which has such an extensive collection of both new and used vinyls that are all priced SO well - we walked out with 5 used vinyls under $30, SCORE (two of them were priced at just $2)! We've already tried playing all 5 of them and they were in pristine condition. Walked into the back and they have a really nice assortment of furniture, art, books, a small rack of clothing, vintage decor and collection pieces alike, all of which were priced very well!! Even though the clothing rack was small, I found this really cool Padres shirt :) The gentleman working today was also very kind and helpful, he even offered to hold the vinyls we found up at the register so we could continue perusing around the store. The consignment and vintage market, especially in San Diego, marks up prices but the Consignment Shack makes it affordable for all! Can't wait to come back!!!

Zero customer service skills between the two of them. I would rather spend my money where I am respected. On top of the attitude, the place is musty and damp the moment you walk in, which makes you question the condition of what they're actually selling. You can drive up during their business hours to donate. Sometimes the parking can be challenging. If so, the staff will happily help you tote your donated items from your car parking spot.
