I just left doing my last-minute Christmas shopping and I was at the register with a very rude girl named Dina. I asked if she could please put paper in my mug and she seemed to have an attitude and snicker to the lady next to her. Totally understand being overwhelmed with work, but just being rude to customers who are very sweet and ask politely is just uncalled for I suggest she gets a new job if she doesn't like the one she has merry Christmas. read more

A certain security guard discriminates against me every time I encounter him. He said I look like a thief, he told a woman that he is here to read his policy to protect her from customers like me. He held me up at the door refusing to read the policy to let me inside. He told me f**k me and yet he is still employed there and this is the third time he has harassed me and discriminated against me. He is an older thin guy. Management seemed a little unprofessional being too friendly with coworkers specifically (Maribel) which I did not know was apart of the job description. The place is always a mess to mention as well. The prices are fair but Marshall's or another location might be better. read more

I'm a regular customer and I was in this store this week and noticed how clean it was and the atmosphere was more friendly . The employees were laughing and just seemed friendlier. I went to check out and there was a lady with glasses and black hair seemed to be giving recognition to a cashier and telling the cashier how great she doing and it's ok if she needs help to call her . I was next in line and cashier called me up I had to ask what changed at this store " ? She stated we got a new Store Manager " and she is so helpful . And pointed to show me it was the lady with glasses . I never got her name but seems like Burlington made a good choice . Hope this location stays this way . Even the LP guy was more energetic. I was an employee for Burlington when I moved to Washington a little over a year ago. When I was moving back to California, I was looking for a transfer so I could have a job right away when I got back into town. Little did I know, is that everyone who I talked to trying to figure out the transfer process, did not help me in the slightest. I was constantly hung up on for weeks, trying to get some sort of answer. I tried asking for a first and last name of the store manager so I could have my manager contact them through their work-specific email, but when I asked for a last name, the person I spoke to coldly said "no" and immediately hung up on me. I tried for over two weeks to get answers, and had nothing but being kept on hold for over ten minutes each time I called, and was still being hung up on. Despite me giving them my name, and current store location, my concerns were not taken into consideration. My manager had tried emailing the store, and never heard back, so I thought my next best option was to try to contact them myself. And that was a huge waste of time, seeing how they never even tried working with me. When I was able to finally get a hold of the store manager after three weeks, I was told that I would get some sort of answer on the transfer. Little to my surprise, I never did. The other managers I spoke to were extremely rude for no reason when I tried working with them, and they gave me nothing but attitude, and a false sense of job security. read more

I went in a few days after Christmas, the store was picked over. In November I bought a nice black leather jacket at the Clairemont location. Not wanting to be known as the man that always wears the same black leather jacket I stopped in the El Cajon location to see if they might have a white or brown one. Not only did they not have anything similar,They had hardly any men's coats or Jackets at all. The greeters were not particularly friendly neither coming or going. The whole time I was there not one employee in any department offered any assistance. There was one stockman that when I flagged him down that was friendly but told me what I already knew that everone beat me to the men's jackets. Not the worst but not the best Burlington either, although I had passed by this store a few times, I never had a chance to shop here until today. First of, the structure design is weird, you had to take the escalator down one level, because there was nothing on top except the entrance and a logo. There was no access thru the mall either, and today was pouring rain, which means you had to walk out of Parkway Plaza and did a little walking to get to the main entrance of this place. Secondly, it was about stocking, a lot of missing opportunities here, not enough sizes to choose from, also they had less stuffs than I thought for a big space that they rented here at the mall, I would say the setup was pretty unorganized for the most parts, they don't have any luggages for sale, no section for suits, and their coats section was super empty too. Isn't that what they're known for? Coats and jackets? Well, also the escalator was not running either, only the other side which taking you back up, but if you wanted to go down, you can walk or use the elevator. Anyway I hope they will fix their issues and improve next time when I visit them read more

I went to Burlington to go get a suitcase, and didn't expect to see trash EVERYWHERE. Not only was there an old used band-aid in the cart, but as we walked through the store there was trash/old cups sitting everywhere, and the whole store just seemed unclean and unorganized. Especially with the pandemic going on, I just thought stores would have a little bit of a higher standard with cleanliness at the moment, apparently Burlington doesn't care about spreading bacteria and germs. read more

Went to this store on June 21, 2023 and purchased a pair of slacks. The slacks were on a rack that stayed $9.99 and under. It was 3 pair of the exact same slacks in Salmon and several pair in black. I informed the register clerk and she pushed me over to the evening store manager Ms. Reyes or at least that's the name she gave me. Neither of the two had a name tag on. The manager was extremely rude when informing me it was nothing she could do for me and then proceeded to inform the customer she was originally helping the issue she was having with me. This is the worst Burlington I have been to. It's the closest to my home so I always end up coming to this one but when I'm in line to pay I always regret it. Most of the time they only have 1 cashier but today I was surprised when I saw 2 cashiers. They were extremely slow because one cashier was chitchatting with a lady who was returning a few items and she knew her apparently. Finally I was getting closer in line them I saw the older, tall cashier to off and start chitchatting with a lady she knew who was sitting down the hall. She was there catching up with her asking "so how have you been?" Aftee several minutes I go over to her and tell her to socialize on her time not on mine and if she could get back to work. She told me that there wasn't such a big line. I wanted to call the manager at this point but I was in a rush to get out. Will drive further but will not be back here again. read more

Went in a couple times so far, have had decent experiences usually. They generally have friendly security who stands at the bottom of the escalator, which is good. I spoke to a manager last time I went in because I couldn't find a specific item I was looking for, so I asked someone about it, which happened to be a manager; told me (don't remember the name) that I could always call ahead and check to see if they had that item in, or if it has come in on their trucks, and they would check. This morning I called the store, spoke to a woman manager on duty. I told her what the previous manager said about calling, she said, "Well idk about that but I can try to help you." (something to that matter), so I tell her what item I was looking for...She just says, "Well, idk if we have that item in stock ma'am.", then silence...... ....Ummm, ok! First time visit at this location - wanted to purchase a romper but the belt was frayed in both sides. Asked manager for a discount and she " offered to cut it on both sides and use it anyways , then actually refused to discount because she claimed she would get more money processing it as a damage item." So now the item I wanted now no longer can be sold and no discount? So how do you people intend on making revenue let alone appease a guest. First and last time going to this store. There was one register open with a line if approximately 10 people. They called for backup, one more cashier was added. The line moves slow. My 3 year old was getting restless, we g to the car w daddy. I waited with my one year old in line. A girl who was wearing a bra with an open top started fighting with a guy who was in line behind her. Maybe 10 minutes go by and they call for backup, two more cashiers come up. Thankfully the line moved quickly. I had a return with a receipt. The cashier couldn't return both items. She tried item A first but then item B wouldn't show up. She tried B first then A wouldn't show up. She tried a few times. I ask her to do one at a time if that works. She returns item A and says she'll do item B after she rings je up. I ask her to please call someone to help bc I don't want to wait even longer at the end of the transaction. She says no, it will be fine. She rings me up, $80 later. Guess what? She couldn't ring up item B. She looks around for a manager looking puzzled as yo why it wasn't working. Now I am mad. I tell her this is what I was trying yo avoid. Please call someone now. The manager comes and tells me Item B has already been returned. I tell her yes, by her (cashier). She asks me for a different receipt, even though both items are one the receipt. I repeat the situation, that she had tried like 5 times. Cashier denies it, of course. I tell the manager how frustrated I am, by this point my teenager came to see what hold up is and takes the 1 year old to the car. The manager realizes that she returned item B not item A. The cherry on top was that the manager said mistakes happen. I told her, nope, she tried several time, I asked her to call you and she waited until after she had rung up all other items and the cashier says nobody's perfect. No apologies. Never again.
