A group of 7 of us went here on a Saturday night at 6:30. Although we did not have a reservation there was ample seating available and we chose a high table on the heated patio. We ordered apps to share, the Avocado rolls, sliders and fried pickles; both items were hot, Delicious and came out quickly. We had excellent service all night and I'm sorry I can't remember our servers name. Later in the evening our party grew and the service did not suffer for it at all. Cocktails (Tito's mule) were well balanced and served perfectly in a cold copper cup. Background music non-distracting. I would definitely recommend the post for large parties as the shareable food and steady service lends itself nicely to that. Patio is lovely. Go here... you'll like it. read more

This place is awesome. They open at 6am and you can watch NFL games here! Yup that's what I did about two Sundays ago. They serve breakfast and also have a bakery. We tried their cinnamon roll with coffee to start. The roll is massive and fresh. Perfect shareable treat with your coffee. During halftime we ordered the huevos rancheros plate. Also shareable. The tortilla was nice and crispy under the eggs and salsa. The potatoes were cooked perfectly as well. Soft yet crunchy outside. Service was superb. The locals make the place come alive. The wait staff and bartender are friendly. The bathroom is clean. There's a outdoor patio for some fresh air. Interesting to read all the bad reviews about service. I have been here maybe a dozen times and never had any issues. We usually sit in the bar, although we have been seated outside on at least one occasion. Was here most recently this last Saturday 12/07 and we sat at the larger table in the rear center of the bar not far from the door. It was EXTREMELY busy but our server was on it, and he stayed on it. Our drinks never got empty, our food came out promptly, and other than one snafu from the kitchen on a custom order, everything tasted excellent. I had the wet chorizo breakfast burrito and it was delish, my buddy had the meatloaf sandwich and loved it, and the other two guys had biscuits and gravy, and an omelet and all of them were great. In total, we were probably here 3 hours. Probably would have stayed a little longer but the noise level was really high. The acoustics in the bar are very unforgiving, and with it being as packed as it was, all of our heads were ringing by the time we left. This is a spot I will keep coming back to, and I do recommend. read more

We waited over 45 minutes for our food. It was on a Wednesday night so it wasn't busy. The drinks flowed; however, the food took way too long. My kids were hangry and definitely antsy. Went here before a Halloween party to grab a drink and an appetizer so we had our costumes on. One of my friends was clearly dressed as Batman but wasn't wearing his mask since he wanted to eat and drink. Unfortunately he had dark makeup on his face to wear under his mask as the Batman mask usually requires. The GM of the place came over and told my friend that he had to wash his face or get out. We explained it was part of his costume and he just wasn't wearing his mask so he could eat. It didn't matter. We were treated horribly by both the GM and the male bartender and weren't even allowed to order another drink even though we were still eating. On any other day or circumstance I would have understood. However, it's Halloween weekend and everyone was wearing costumes and or face paint. I've never been treated this horribly in a restaurant/bar before. We will never come back here again. read more

We love this place but on the first day of the new year one of their servers woke up and chose rudeness. We waited an hour for our food. We could see they were backed up because it was New Years. We never complained. While waiting for our check a random server dropped off my husbands beer. She could see he was hesitant to take it as it had been so long and we were ready to leave. He ended up saying I will take it because its here. She said she had only received the ticket two minutes ago. It had been over 30 minutes since the beer was ordered. A little bit later our original server threw the check at us. I am not joking when I say threw. Our mouths both dropped open. Then she said "We took the beer off your bill since you were so upset about it." This blonde needs someone to hug her. We left our first ever zero tip. read more

This is my favorite bar in Villa Park, as a matter of fact the only bar in this city. Friday and Saturday nights are always popping here at The Post. Every weekend they have a band and the crowd gets to enjoy dancing and live music. This is a full service restaurant and bar. The cocktails are excellent and the waitresses are always here to help. Tonight I was served by Marissa I hope that's how she spells it. Back to the service, Marissa always kept my supply of cocktails flowing and not pushy the way I like my service. She was very friendly and she made my night very easy, it felt like I was at home relaxing and this is one of the main reasons I like to come to The Post I feel like I'm at home away from home. Was here on St. Patrick's Day which was obviously slammed but the staff did a great job of keeping up which was really impressive considering the volume. The decor was super cute, very true to form for Saturday Night Post. Loved the little details in the hallway for the bathroom and the bakery. I'm so glad this restaurant/bar is open during covid. They are great with social distancing and making us feel like we are living in a normal world for an hour. It's definitely a "locals" place where everyone knows everyone, there's plenty of regulars, and the bartender/servers know your name. Very chill and low key. Give the servers lots of credit, they are often slammed and doing their best. Don't expect snappy service or fine dining but if you want to watch sport, eat some good food, drink some drinks, hang with the locals, and sit back and relax-- this is the place for you. If you're a whiney over demanding d-bag who goes places for the sake of posting a nitpicking review I recommend you just keep on driving past here and take yourself home before you come to my favorite place. read more

I called here on a Saturday to ask if kids were welcome and the place even advertises "good for kids." The initial worker that answered the phone said that they are welcome, but never informed me that there's a 10 pm cut-off. We were traveling far to visit this restaurant. I called again to double check and the male worker was super rude over the phone saying that "No kids allowed." I explained that I spoke with someone earlier and she said it was ok. The male was trying to justify that it's a bar when it's advertised as a Café/Bakery. He didn't even bother apologizing because I was initially misinformed. So confusing! My husband and I love it here but hadn't been in a while. We had gone to check out the city event a couple weeks back being held in the parking lot. The event had died down so we decided to go get a drink. A sign posted said there was a private event in the restaurant but the bar was open so we headed over. We waited at the bar for a minute to be served and I decided to grab a seat at a table near the bar. While my husband waited for service a waitress had grabbed menus and was heading over. As I was sitting down a man who worked there came to my table and yelled loudly "we're moving this outside" and started moving chairs around. He didn't seem to have any care that I had planned to sit there and offered no customer service.
