We arrived on time but had to wait in the very busy and crowded bakery for 20 minutes while we watched 3 other couples be escorted up one at a time... When we finally got taken up, we then had to drink water for 20 minutes while we waited for the other couples to go one at a time to the bar for their "tasting". The atmosphere was small, bright, on the loud side for a speak easy, uncomfortable seating, open air and not impressive. The bartender prepared 4 drinks for each party to taste out of a straw from the same glass. Those were the drinks they were able to choose from for their order. It also seemed that there were two couples at the bar at the same time that didn't even know one another. We were told we had to "wait our turn". I took an out of town friend and kept apologizing to her about how bad the experience was. If they even want to attempt something like this they need to space out the reservations more, allow people to order drinks while they are waiting and offer more than 4 drinks. The food menu was less than impressive also...about 6 items deep and we saw some food come out that did not look appetizing. The charcuterie was laughable. By the time it was our turn, we were over it. I went to the bartender and asked for a refund of our $50 deposit and he said " yeah that is not how this works. You can go talk to the manager if you want but the deposit is non refundable". He was so rude that we walked out. On the way out the manager told me he would credit my card and "take care of it" and I have yet to see a credit. Don't waste your time, there are so many speak easy places in the OC that blow this one away.

Small little taste of Nikka Coffey Grain, Nikka Coffey Malt, Suntory Tokiese and best for last Hibiki Harmony Chicken Pesto Oven Fried Pizza $20 - Pistachio Pesto, chopped grilled chicken breast, mozzarella cheese, heirloom cherry tomatoes arugula and balsamic glaze | I usually don't care for pesto, but if its pistachio or macadamia I do like that way better. Let me begin with, I had trouble thinking where do I put this, is it a pizza or is it a flat bread? It didn't rise to have its iconic crust on a pizza, so I have been labeling this as a flat bread and because of that I can easily say the best flat bread pizza I have had to date. I waited in line like every other customer and spoke directly with the hostess. She was preparing to seat me, but then informed me that because I did not yet have all four members of my party present, I could not be seated. I explained that some members of my party were still looking for parking while others were on their way, and asked whether I could simply be seated as a party of one while I waited. I had driven a considerable distance specifically for this event and intended to purchase food and drinks. I was told that I could not be seated or served until the rest of my party arrived. What made this especially confusing was that the event had been advertised as first come, first served. Based on that advertising, I reasonably expected that arriving early and waiting in line would secure a place. Instead, I was told I could not be seated or served despite having arrived and waited my turn. Out of frustration, I briefly sat down hoping to get a drink of water and order food while waiting. When I was told I could not sit there, I immediately got up and left the table. I then asked whether there was anywhere else I could at least get food and water while waiting for my friends. Both the hostess and the manager informed me that I could not be served unless my full party was present. What further added to my frustration was watching a party of two get seated shortly afterward. Whether there were circumstances I was unaware of or not, it created the appearance that the policy was being applied inconsistently. My concern is less about being denied a table and more about the inconsistent messaging and customer experience. Had I been clearly informed in advance that "first come, first served" was subject to a full-party seating requirement, I would have planned accordingly. While I can acknowledge my role in the interaction, I believe there is also an opportunity for your business to reflect on how situations like this are communicated and handled.
