First time back in over a year and I think it's time I put Capri into the roster of bars I keep in the rotation. It's a bit small, so I'd imagine it gets pretty packed during Friday nights and the weekend. I've only ever been during random weeknights, so I personally have no complaints regarding space. However, I really dig the living room vibe right when you walk in. It's a local neighborhood bar (almost dive bar but not quite) and it's got exactly that type of local bar charm you'd expect to find in a place like this. During my most recent visit I finally got the chance to try out their food! I was able to share a patty melt and a meatloaf with a group of people I met a last week. Well, just one of the dudes in their group but either way, the food was bangin'. I'm a self-proclaimed patty melt connoisseur and theirs is actually so good. Meatloaf was also really good. Drinks wise they offer some of the coldest beer from what I've seen through Professional Beer Inspector on Instagram. However, I'm not a beer guy but the drinks here are definitely strong AND more importantly, very reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised when it came time to pay. Seriously, a bar that serves reasonably priced food and drinks is such a rare gem. Additionally, they have daily specials too which is awesome. Service was friendly, the vibes here (so far) have been awesome, and I really enjoy the outdoor patio area. It's nice to sit outside and catch a nice buzz. Kinda wish they had speakers outside though, at least for the TV. read more

Breakfasts used to be good but now they flat out suck. Cook can't even toast bread, keep potatoes hot, serve a fresh cooked piece of ham. Bathrooms are continuously filthy, out of paper, and the barmaid (not Vi) has the personality of a rail road spike. Totally Sucks ! read more

I'm boujee, so this isn't a place I'd normally frequent, but I found myself at Capri celebrating a friend's birthday. 5 stars for the lovely blonde bartender with an exceptional pour and 3 stars for the divey atmosphere. No table service available so we waited at the bar forever to get drinks. Billiard tables, karaoke on Fridays, TVs playing college football and the Dodgers, and plenty of parking! We only had chicken wings, and they were decent, so I can't fairly comment on the food. read more

Went here because I was craving onion rings. They have really good onions rings with ranch and they were a great price. Staff was extremely friendly. I had a headache and the lights were low even though it's was 9:30 am. I enjoyed my onion rings, being inside during the rain and a nice ambiance. Will be back read more

Came here with my boyfriend because of the Professional Beer Inspector on Instagram. This place had one of the coldest beers featured in his reviews, so we had to check it out. As soon as we walked in, the music was legit. No horrible new songs--just classics and rock 'n' roll. Everyone was having a great time inside. You could tell they were locals having real conversations. The crowd was more mature, which was chill, but everyone was still welcoming and friendly. We arrived right before it got too packed for Karaoke Night (Fridays). We met one of the bartenders, Dylan, and he was phenomenal. He took his time with our orders and personally introduced himself with a handshake. The group next to us randomly invited us to sit with them. They were friendly people. Another bartender, Nissa, was even singing behind the bar. While I was waiting in line to place an order, the manager, Rudy, came up to me and introduced himself. He welcomed us, thanked us for coming in, and told us to let him know if we needed anything. He was very friendly. The music was bumping, but it wasn't too loud. Someone was celebrating a birthday, but everyone was vibing together. The food was decent, the front patio was great, and yes, the beer was ice cold. If you're looking for a place with a more genuine crowd, friendly people, and none of the pretentious attitude you find at some Orange County bars, this place is a breath of fresh air. The karaoke hosted by Jelly was the best I've experienced. The service from the bartender Nissa was exceptional. The two star review comes from the interaction and experience I had with the bartender/bar back named Dylan. He was so rude and condescending and confrontational. His demeanor was off-putting to the whole group I was with. I've never had such a negative experience with an employee behind the bar. Does he hate his job? Does he just hate people? Not sure, but his decorum left a sour taste with me that will be difficult to remove. Sad because it was an easy 5/5 stars otherwise for this Friday night karaoke spot! read more

If you want ice cold beers on draft, this is the place for you. The bar food is pretty tasty and you must try their daily specials. The place could use a good cleaning and may be some investment on getting chairs reupholstered but it is worth giving it a try. read more

Capri Bar & Grill is an absolute gem! The owner has had this business for 30+ years and the locals and regulars absolutely adore him. He makes his bar almost a home away from home. They've made some recent renovations with the front bar area and are making plans to get more outdoor space. I love what they are doing to spruce up their business with talks of a new menu from Robert Duvall and his team, partnerships with other local businesses, and special events catered to the community! Located between Chapman University and the Honda Center, this is not only a chill place to grab drinks but to also grab some good burgers, sandwiches, and fish. Their drinks are at discounted prices and they have a pretty large selection of seltzers and beers on tap. Definitely worth a visit and can't wait to be a part of their future events. read more

Was told food was good. That was true but it took forever to get it. Waitress\bartender was serving everyone, she was the only one serving 30 people, I counted. I had to get up and get my food from the counter where the cook put it. When I told her she needs help, she said no I got it. The problem is she didn't. l!! She may want all the tips and recognition but it is not fair to the paying customers. Unfortunately I will never go back. Yikes! Talk about trending in the wrong direction. This could be the poorest managed restaurant in Orange County. Actually, that couldn't be true, because there are no managers! It's literally like no one is in charge here. There is only one cook and one bartender for the whole place. That's it. You have to go to the bar to order your food and drinks. There is no table service at all. Guess it would be OK if you were by yourself, but it's definitely not a place where a couple could go out for a nice lunch or dinner. Their socials make it look like this great bar & restaurant you have to check out. Then you walk in, and it's literally a shit show. They are out of everything, you have to stand in a line to order your food and drinks, and they don't know how to change the kegs or TVs. Staff this place already. Had a great time at Capri this morning with Daquiri + Josh. My kids are enrolled at California Gymnastics down the street for Christmas break, so I shot to Capri to hang and get some work done with my MacBook. I was blown away at how open the bar felt after the new remodeling! It's airy, bright, lively, and gets even better in the evening!! Daquiri was serving cold drinks, and I even got to meet the new chef, Robert and enjoy his amazing steak Crostinis!! I can't wait to come back to Capri next week and enjoy some more offerings from their newly updated menu! Their manager, Josh was warm, welcoming and roaming the space ensuring everyone was all smiles, everything you'd expect in a solid bar manager. Messed up the order, forgot the salad and appetizer we ordered. The appetizer came out 2 minutes before the steaks came out. There was more fat on the steak than there was meat. She ignored us the rest of the time. We had to flag her down multiple times just to get a refill on drinks and then to ask for the bill. Just ridiculous service. I'm shocked at the negative recent reviews of the Capri. I'm a monthly visitor usually on Saturdays. My drinks have always been spot on and poured well. When I have ordered a meal I've always enjoyed it. The service has been great even though the bar is busy. One server has been able to handle the bar, drinks and food delivery all on her own. I would give her a compliment but I don't know her name. Overall, don't the recent reviews make you hesitate give it shot! read more

We have been coming here for years & we were excited at the prospect of a new menu. Not only was the service subpar (of course taking into consideration that she was alone on a Sunday, football morning), but 3/4 if our food came out wrong, & 3/4 was overcooked. 3 hours for 2 drinks each & 4 wrong meals. What happened to this place? Stopped in for corn beef and cabbage on St Patty's day and was served a cold plate of food! The utensils were brought after our food was served and were super dirty! The presentation was very sad. Decided to cancel our food order and go elsewhere. Our server, Edith, who was very new, tried her best and was very sweet! That Capri Bar & Grill is NOT suitably set up for karaoke!! It's used to be dim & relaxed, like the lounges at Don Jose. Now they got the bright lights & bright giant flatscreens! The pool tables used to be at the back of the bar, now it's at the front as soon as you walk in the door! There used to be a roomy space for the karaoke set-up w/the front of the screen where you can sing, now it's a small boxed-in space where KJ Jelly could hardly move, you have no space to sing so you're stuck either singing to the side of the pool tables or at your table where you're sitting! The only good review I could say is that their food was good! I give it at least 4 stars! Surprisingly good for bar food! Their beef stroganoff was very good & Jack finished all his fish n chips! Other than that I wouldn't come back here for the karaoke unless they improved the setup! read more
