    Fresh fruit salad looks amazing
    Ezekhel M.

The weight staff are amazing. They've got a very good menu. The food was excellent. It wasn't just subpar like most places. I would definitely choose to come to eat here again. The ambience is perfect in this place. It's not too busy and they and I'll take care of that thank you make you feel like you are number one the prices are phenomenal. It's more than what I expect out of a small town diner great place if you come in and ask for Sabrina D, she has great skills.

Meat Pie, Eggs, Housemade Corned Beef Hash

If you're looking for a no frills diner feel then the Post has you covered. I got the meat pie with eggs and a side of homemade corned beef hash. Surprisingly the only thing that I didn't love was the hash, as it carried over an aftertaste from the blacktop. Everything else was great, the meat pie crust was flakey and the filling was well spiced, perfect for the holidays. Service was great as well.

Visiting from Phoenix, AZ! Great food, and service would recommend the French toast!

    Panwich & home fries

After seeing this "panwich" on the menu, I knew I had to come try it! I should have ordered online as it was nearing prime brunch time and ended up waiting ~30 minutes for my order. I ordered to go and got my panwich with an over-easy egg, swiss cheese, and home fries. The pancakes are a little bit bigger than the size of a biscuit and come with maple syrup. It wasn't quite a sandwich, but the pancakes were as expected. It was a good portion size that I was able to finish everything without feeling overstuffed. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating and offer both breakfast/brunch, and lunch options, so there's something for everyone. Overall, a fairly priced meal for a restaurant in downtown Concord.

Nice breakfast spot. Typical fare. Low prices. Across the street from the Capitol. Friendly staff. Highly recommended for those looking for a convenient spot in the heart of downtown Concord.

    Summer outdoor dining!
    Brian S.

Found myself in Concord, NH early On a summer, Sunday morning. The Post was recommended as one of the main breakfast places to check out downtown. Well, my party was looking for breakfast and we chose here. The first good thing was that it was summer, and there were outdoor tables! More good: the menu is expansive for breakfast (on Sundays important to know that they ONLY serve breakfast), and there are some quality dishes. In fact, they offer some classic French Canadian dishes which were great: poutine, tortiere. The tortiere pie was so good! Lots of clove and nutmeg inside, but very good. AND, the hands down BEST dish was the homemade corned beef hash! Everything else was pretty standard. So why the three stars. Drawbacks: it was Sunday, and seemingly their operations were just OFF. The hostess just seemed confused as to where to sit us (I don't understand why) and finally our party asked "can we just sit outside" - she said , "oh yeah, that's fine". Once outside, it took at least 10 minutes for anyone to check on us. FINALLY, the older waitress asked the younger, "has anyone checked on them yet". Since I overheard, I motioned my head "no". Once our order was taken, it's literally took 40 minutes for our food to come out. Do the math. From the moment we arrived for breakfast, it took 50 minutes to eat. Waiting this long for food in a not too packed place, the food was judged by the wait. And to wait 50 minutes, it was just breakfast. For example, Helen's in Concord, MA I would wait 50 minutes for.... not this place ... no matter how good the corned beef hash was. Also, many dishes homemade, but they need to change the recipes. Homemade bread .... but the recipe needs more salt. Homemade warm apples.... but not sweet. If food came out in a timely manner, and service was better, would be a 4.

They offered to put them in now, but we decided to decline. Server came over to apologize in a very casual way, like maybe she forgets a lot of things through out the day (I could never be a server, so I get it) but she did write down our order and she verified dipping sauce, so I don't really know how she forgot to put our order in correctly. I honestly just chalked it up to us being fat so we didn't really need them anyway, oh well. This location is convenient, so we will be back, but I do prefer the Portsmouth location, or even Bedford. But this one is good too, it just seems like on the days they are open later, the staff is a little less... helpful. Maybe we will stick to brunch hours and see how that works. The menu here has also changed, and we really miss the old menu. The selections are now mediocre, and things you could get anywhere else. I miss the unique menu of things that were creative and layered, and just different. The menu now consists of 2 small pages, with pancakes, omelets, eggs Benedict, burritos, and a few lunch options with burgers. The hot chick sandwich is really great, but it was better before when it was called something else. It feels like the menu went a little *New England white tastebuds* instead of keeping the flavorful, unique items. I'm only taking away one star for the menu change. Our server not putting our order in correctly was annoying, especially since I only order apps because my blood sugar was low and thought they'd come out quickly, but it wasn't enough to keep me from coming back. I just hope they will bring back the old menu.

The menu is quite plentiful, so maybe peak before. They had pumpkin maple bacon as a special when we went - my three favorite things. It did not disappoint. What did disappoint was the time it took to get our food. The place was next to dead, and we were still there for an hour. My potatoes were luke warm when I got them. My burrito, however, was quite good. Street parking is the way to go.

Banana/strawberry and holy shit it was incredible!!! I. LOVED. IT!!! Damn it was good. I think it was like $12 tho? Am I crazy to think...meh, it's ok, (the price) I was on a holiday and you are supposed to enjoy whatever? haha!! I would normally never spend that much on a freaking smoothie! HOWEVER! Once we got into Manchester, VT....we saw another The Works Bakery...I SHO DID get another one lol. I was surprised to see that this place is a chain. When we were in Concord...it kind of felt like this was a place exclusive to Concord. Nah, it's not. Thats ok tho. I got a smoothie at a coffee house in just outside Bar Harbor and it was absolute garbage. So it was nice to have one where they actually have you what you ordered. Most places in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire all allow dogs. I travel with my little Yorkie wherever I go. Alfred loves to travel haha! He is my child...seeing as I do not have any human kids. My dog is my life. So it's nice when you go into places and they welcome dogs. This place....does not tho. Thats boooo! HOWEVER! I TOTALLY understand! I TRULY do! I travel with my dog everywhere, but yes, I do realize this place is a restaurant and they all have their rules. I just love restaurants that allow dogs haha! I am not one of those psychos that will tear a place apart about not allowing dogs. I am one who actually respects policies like this. And yes, I bring my dog with me bc it's just me...and my dog. He is a 6lb Yorkie who I will never leave alone nor would I ever kennel him. I say all this bc so many people out there judge others who bring their dogs everywhere. He is a family member. He comes with me. Just go to this place wherever you run into one. It really is a great place. They were all SO nice in there even when they asked my take Alfie back outside. OH for the record too...I carry my little man everywhere with me. He's not like...running around everywhere...marking his territory lol Atmosphere in this location is very nice. Kinda dark and Lodgy feeling. Its nice. Located too in what I am assuming is a historic building. Noce view of the downtown area too if you take you lunch or whatever outside to their outdoor seating...which I am guessing is probably brought in now...seeing as it is almost December. Ok thats it. I know I rambled a lot here, but I feel it all fits with my review. I ramble a lot to begin with. If you read this...thank you! If you didn't...I will sleep in 5 mins and sleep like a baby :) Thank you The Works for a wonderful first experience. I live in Idaho. Wish we had you here. Thanks for reading YelperWorkers! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!!
