Located on a quiet cul-de-sac in New Boston, The Cure Cafe is a small cozy cafe, which opened recently and took over the former Northeast Cafe. The place was redone which is an order at the counter place with a few tables with chairs, comfortable soft seating and a faux fireplace inside the cozy space. The Cure Cafe is dedicated to supporting childhood cancer research. They serve up coffee/espresso & tea drinks, hot cocoa, pastries, croissants, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, lunch sandwiches, salads, soup, and cooler drinks. I stopped by The Cure Cafe for a quick breakfast pickup. I ordered The Charlotte ($6.99 plus tax) and a Spinach & Cheese Puff Pastry ($4.99 plus tax) to go along with my hot coffee. I enjoyed my food once I arrived at work. The Charlotte breakfast sammie was made to order which had one farm raised egg, cheddar cheese, and a round sausage patty on a thick soft toasted English muffin. I warmed up the Spinach & Cheese pastry, which was flaky and buttery. I will definitely have to return for lunch so I can try their Cubano and Chicken Salad sammies! read more

No. Just NO. My matcha latte and my husband's chai tea were both cold. Not hot. Not warm. Not even lukewarm. COLD. It took forever to get our food and I was very disappointed in my sandwich. The location of this dinner is absolutely phenomenal. If we get back to the area, I certainly will return. The staff was extremely friendly, food came out fast, The ambience is casual dining. Food = expensive Service = extremely poor Ambiance = cafeteria-like, noisy and cramped. We decided to grab some coffee and breakfast sandwiches on our way to go fishing on a Sunday morning. I walked in, placed my order and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes!! For TWO basic breakfast sandwiches!! I was handed two SMALL coffees that were lukewarm while I waited. I thought for sure, that this indicated my sandwiches were coming out momentarily. NOPE. I was standing for 45 minutes, being ignored, while other folks came in, sat down, ate and left. I had to ask for HOT coffee about 30 minutes in to my waiting time and was given one "new" coffee. The small coffees are $3.99 each. I don't think Starbucks charges that much and I asked for CREAM and got MILK in them. No, that's not what I asked for. I don't think they even carry cream...for a place that brags about their coffee...I suspect they must be tea drinkers since their coffee had absolutely no taste to i. They have no idea how to treat a patient customer who came in for the first and last time. The two young girls at the register seem inexperienced, too busy chatting with personal friends who came in and didn't even glance my way as I patiently waited. My boyfriend waited in his vehicle since he had a boat on a trailer and was so frustrated by the time I finally came out with very MEDIOCRE breakfast sandwiches and two coffees that looked like dirty dishwater. When my food finally came out, I was given a meek "sorry it took so long, we only have one person in the kitchen" excuse and I was offered a free cinnamon roll. Now, let me tell you about the "cinnamon roll". I decided to give it a taste since I really couldn't smell much cinnamon. It was a very dry pastry, icing that was like an artificial plastic taste and texture, and no sugar and cinnamon swirl inside. I tossed it out. Disgusting. You can go and be your own judge, but two breakfast sandwiches and two small coffees came to $25.99. Sorry, but that is expensive. I don't mind paying for good service and food, but this was a waste of my hard-earned money. Had to wait quite a bit for service. There was one waitress on the floor and she was in the middle of her lunch break. So, I sat at a table and waited til she was done before I could even look at menu. Once I placed my order, it was another relatively long wait for the food. This was hard to understand since there was just one other party in the restaurant at this time. There was a lot of loud chatter coming from the kitchen, including the occasional swear word. Not sure if they realized (or cared) that everyone in the dining room could hear them clearly. Food finally arrived. I ordered the brisket Benny. I love brisket, but never had it in a Benny. So, I was excited to try it. Sadly, the brisket I got was dry and flavorless. They hardly put any Hollandaise sauce on the eggs. The serving of home fries was very generous, but they too lacked seasoning. I never use table salt. Usually, a few dashes of hot sauce is all I add to my food. But, I found myself reaching for the salt, the pepper, and the hot sauce just to add some flavor to this dish. The restaurant does have a nice dining room, with a great view of the river that runs behind it. The dining area was clean and there was ample seating. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointing experience. I would come back to give it another try. But it wouldn't me my first choice. read more

My husband, two children, and I went there for lunch today after our hike and it took about five minutes for our server to greet us. We thought she was another guest because she was sitting and chatting with another table. After bringing our drinks she didn't come back to take our order for a while. After ordering we moved outside because there were so many flies from the sliding door being open. The food came out at a reasonable time but my wrap was overly greasy and fell apart immediately. The fries were cold and flavorless and the pickle was mushy and rancid. My husband's brisket sandwich was kid's size, poorly put together, and his fries were just as bad. Our almost three year old was being so well behaved but after a long hike and a long wait we were just ready to leave. This experience really disappointed us and as someone who served tables for a long time all of this could have been mitigated by having a more thoughtful and observant server. read more

I was passing through picturesque New Boston and stopped here for a late breakfast. The building itself is quaint and overlooks a river that runs through the center of town. We were fortunate to get one of the balcony tables that take advantage of this beautiful scenery. My friend ordered an omelet and I had pancakes with scrambled eggs on the side. This place is a gem! I met some new friends the other day for breakfast and was wowed! I noticed coffee bags on the wall, and being the connoisseur that I am, I asked where they get they coffee. Turns out, Guy (owner) roasts his own Sumatra in their oven! Great cup of coffee! The omelet was wonderful too. Today, I decided to bring my husband there. We sat outside this time right by the babbling brook; it was amazing. We enjoyed our coffee and our meals: grilled cheese pulled pork sandwich and chicken salad on a bed of greens. New Boston is a fabulous New England town that we then had fun exploring! I highly recommend this restaurant and coffee!! read more

The North East Café offers a wide variety of services and Guy is a fabulous cook. We have used many of the services he provides. He has prepared food for an event at our home, for a private party of 20 people at the North East Cafe, and dinner for us to take to a company gathering. Guy is always willing to listen to your needs, offer suggestions and customize what he prepares to fit your needs. My husband and I stopped in this morning for breakfast. There was only one other customer in the restaurant when we arrived. We were excited to try out a new breakfast place with such great reviews. My initial reaction was that the location and view out the back sliding glass door was amazing.... the view inside was disgusting. There were cobwebs and dust in the windows that were mere inches from our seats. The table itself appeared clean but the sugar packets on the table had dried coffee splash marks on them. The back sliding glass door next to me had hand marks and smudges on it with an old strand of Christmas lights unplugged but still strung up. The waitress, while extremely friendly and provided an excellent service, was wearing a dirty looking sweatshirt that didn't seem appropriate for food service. I ordered the French toast, which because they were out of the cinnamon bread was made with raisin bread, was just ok. My husband ordered the BLT breakfast sandwich on sourdough with home fries. We both found it only ok as well. In conclusion, we both agreed that this isn't the breakfast spot for us. Great place to have lunch with an excellent view. The location in the center of New Boston cannot be beat - right on the river surrounded by quaint Colonial style buildings. I had the Gouda Burger with the soup of the day, today it was baked potato and it was great. The prices are a little bit on the steep side but it's worth it. Simple foods done well. Wonderful little place on the River. The food was very good as was the service. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. They had no trouble accommodating my pepper allergy. We were there for breakfast. I had 2 eggs over easy with hash browns, bacon (yummmy Bacon!) and english muffins. All of it was perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband had a Western Omelet and said it was very good. The restaurant is set in a renovated farmhouse and sits on the edge of a river. The view was beautiful. Next time I hope to sit outside on the deck that overlooks the river. They also deliver meals to your home. We will return here next time we are visiting New Hampshire. read more

I went here for breakfast this morning, and will definitely be back! There was no one waiting to seat me, so I had a brief moment of awkwardness where I had to catch the attention of the hostess to ask if I could sit where I wanted to, but that was due more to my grogginess than anything else. The hostess/waitress/cashier (not sure of the proper title) was very friendly and helpful, and was quick to fetch me a hot cup of coffee in a very cute mug! I ordered one piece of french toast, one chocolate-chip pancake, and a scrambled egg, along with a large glass of orange juice. The french toast and scrambled egg arrived first. Both were delicious! The french toast had a little bit too much egg on one part, but that's really the only complaint I can find with the food! The pancake was HUGE, easily as large as two normal pancakes, and was delicious and fluffy! Everything arrived within fifteen minutes, and like I said, it was amazing! My entire meal cost me $11.64. I'll be uploading some pictures, but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious cafe meal! read more

We went hiking in New Boston and were hungry for breakfast afterwards, so we went looking for the Northeast Cafe, very easy to find! The waitress was very friendly, gave us the background on the site. I ordered lots of tea, which she kept refreshing. Quaint place with nice staff and a great view of the river from the porch. However, the coffee was incredibly weak, we were ignored the majority of our visit, the food took forever. I'd call it a poor experience, other than the river... My girlfriend, who rarely complains about food, has been telling me how terrible the experience was for the last three hours. The Northeast Cafe is my "go to" breakfast stop. It offers consistently great food in a comfortable, riverside setting. Breakfast is served at anytime and is typically what I order, though there are terrific lunch options as well. Favorites are the Country Omelet, the New England Omelet, and Turkey Hash. The coffee is excellent and, after a few visits, the servers become old friends. Highly recommended as a home away from home. read more

It's hard to give this place a rating since there were some great things about the place and some truly awful things about it. On the plus side, the food was yummy. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the eggs were cooked perfectly. There's a nice hippy vibe with the Grateful Dead playing, and the river side setting is charming. This was marred by truly awful service. I don't blame the waitress if the kitchen is backed up, but we waited 15 minutes to have someone wipe down the table and take our coffee orders. We had to flag down the waitress two more times for refills, and after one such request, (and by this time the dining room was nearly empty), she started cleaning tables while we sat there with no coffee. Not once did she stop to ask how we were doing, nor did she even look our way. We had to get up and look for her twice to ask for a check. This alone is the reason we will not be returning. However, I should note a couple of other things for those who choose to visit anyway. Several orders were wrong - the spinach, broccoli, and cheddar omelet arrived without spinach. My order of onions with the hash browns was served to my husband instead. The coffee was weak. The homemade bread was as light as wonder bread. But here's the weirdest part. Their homemade strawberry jam, which was given to all of us, had some white stuff floating around in it. If I had to guess, I would say it was globs of butter, which suggests that the jam is recycled from one table to the next. UGH! I could be wrong about what it was, but it was in every serving, and there is nothing I can think of that should be present in strawberry jam that looks like this. See for yourself. In short, if you have an hour and a half to spare for breakfast, and you're not grossed out by things floating in your jam, give it a try. read more

Great thing about living in New Hampshire, there's always an over-the-river and through-the-woods route when you want to avoid traffic. Our woodsy route takes us right through New Boston. Countless times driving through, we never once spotted this great place! We ordered a variety of breakfast items so everyone could share and sample - best way to figure out the quality of a new place. Blueberry pancakes. Breakfast burrito. Hash Mash. Breakfast BLT Sandwich. Every single item was fresh, made-from-scratch. Everything was perfectly cooked including the breakfast potatoes which were flavorful, tender, and not charred to a crisp or swimming in grease. The hash is home-made - not that salty canned industrial stuff. The food had flavor, without relying on salt. The chef-owner had a pleasant, sweet-natured personality. It was obvious he loves what he's doing. And the prices went right along with the great atmosphere and humble nature - not gouging you! The to-go cartons aren't toxic styrofoam! They're high-quality food-grade cardboard which did a great job keeping the food warm. And when we asked for butter? It was real! Not margarine!
