Small town diner in a VFW open to the public. I liked that they had a salad bar and a choice of sizes for the entrees. We were in the mood for a home cooked meal and it delivered. read more

The Post Bar & Grill - 4oz Chicken Fried Chicken - Diners Near Me - Burlington, Colorado

My pancakes were good, but they charged me $7 to add chocolate chips ($2.50) and pecans ($4.50) to a short stack. That's insane!

Exactly what we needed for lunch traveling on Xmas Eve. Awesome chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and one trip to the salad bar. Busy place but friendly staff. read more

The ambiance is like home; the service is amazing, the food is fantastic. I highly recommend The Post in Burlington, CO!

A VFW Post where the public is welcome for breakfast or lunch. I'm reading The Women, by Kristin Hanna (women in the Vietnam War) and the irony of the coincidence does not escape me. Waitress very busy but also very fast. We ordered cheeseburgers with fries. Family friendly and all ages. Nice lunch. The war machine out front is an awesome display read more

The Post Bar & Grill - Helicopter (war machine) out front. Thank you for your service - Diners Near Me - Burlington, Colorado

We were traveling from CO to MO and needed to stop for dinner. I found this place on Yelp and the reviews were all great so we decided to stop. I'm glad we did. The food was all good. I got grilled chicken, my daughter got French toast, my son got a chicken bacon ranch wrap, and my husband got the breakfast burrito WITH the green chili. Everyone enjoyed their food! I ended up dipping my chicken in my husband's chili!! The server was super sweet. Attentive. The diner itself was inside the VFW. It was clean. It was basic. It was a homage to the armed forces. My son thought the helicopter outside was pretty neat. We'd consider stopping here again if we make the drive to CO. read more

We were able to walk right in and get a large table for our large family of 8. The offerings are ample. My grandson was pondering on whether to get a short or full stack, he couldn't finish the short stack and he is a growing boy. Standard diner fare, but very good. We left feeling good and full. They were very busy that Sunday morning and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick helpful staff. read more

Stopped in with my wife for dinner as it was within walking distance of the Burlington RVPark and we had a very long day on the road. It appears that the post leased out their canteen area. They seem to be making a fairly good business. Good for the post trying to think out of the box and maintain financial stability. Definitely different price points from this over a regular post canteen. That said, my Ruben was absolutely delicious and my wife enjoyed her grilled cheese. I thought the salad bar was very good even though I'm not a fan. Our waitress did a terrific job keeping on top of everything! Thank You! read more

The Post Bar & Grill - Friday night special! - Diners Near Me - Burlington, Colorado

This is such a hidden gem along the highway, you won't be disappointed. The parking lot was packed and the restaurant seemed to be mostly filled by friendly locals. Everyone seats yourself and the waitress came over to greet us right away. If you are looking for good ole' quality comfort food, this is the place for you. If you are on a fancy diet or need a low calorie healthy fare, maybe you won't find many selections? All of our lunches were as described and very tasty. We especially loved the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. I really loved all the photos on the walls of local Vets. "Thank you all for your service"! read more

This is an alcohol free VFW. Seeing that it was a VFW, my man thought he had scored a respite and a cold one away from the old lady. Too bad for him. Anyway, the food is really good. I had the basket of shrimp with fries and my man had the chicken fried steak. The helicopter is an added bonus. read more

God bless our veterans! This restaurants pays tribute to them with great food and a place to gather.

We stopped in From vacation. There are not very many options for a long time in the area. The outside was inviting with the helicopter out front. They had prime rib and ri. No for the specials. We chose to split the prime rib. I thought it looked like a ribeye with prime seasoning . Another special was the cheesy vegetable. I'm sure they took canned broccoli cheese soup and added carrots, cauliflower and zucchini, but it was my favorite of the meal. I left the sweet potato fries uneaten. They were limp and soggy. The hubs mashed potatoes and gravy were tasty. I wish I had gotten those instead. The margarita was perfect and as well, the California Bull cocktail. Nicole was our waitress and she was very attentive to our needs read more

What a great find! They had delicious food, great service, and nice locals. It is also veteran inspired and very clean. Highly recommend!

I stopped in Burlington for an overnight on my way to Nebraska. While checking out of the local Marriott they recommended this place for breakfast. Plenty of parking and clearly seen from the main street. I was quickly seated and poured a glass of hot coffee. The menu was diverse and had some local favorites. I went with two eggs, one biscuits and gravy, hash browns and bacon selection. Total price was only 9.89. The entire meal was delicious, especially the gravy. Just the right amount of spice. The staff was super friendly, and after chatting about spicy food. The waitress brought me a sample of their green hatch chili. Super tasty and would order a bowl. Also their restrooms were clean and well attended. This local place is a favorite and should be on your plans to stop. read more

Our family came here, waited a long time to even put in our order. Then an hour later someone came up and asked if we had ordered yet. We said yes and then they apologized that the first girl never out in our order so we had to give our order again. We finally got our food after over an hour and a half of waiting. No discount!! The least they could have done is given us a desert on the house or SOMETHING!!! Btw when the food finally came it was ok - typical "diner" food. read more

I just want to say this is the BEST breakfast I've had in a restaurant in a lonnnnggggg time! The food is fresh, the service is fantastic and what a great use of space. We pulled into town looking for breakfast and couldn't believe that the VFW would have breakfast. They do and it is the best pancake I have ever eaten. My husband said, it taste like funnel cake!! I say it taste like there is cake batter in it...no syrup needed!!! I had the Meat Lovers skillet. So much food and so delicious. Pretty descent. Hubby got chicken fried chicken, which he liked. The gravy is pepper gravy, no sausage. Heads up-- the mac and cheese is Kraft. He liked the chili very much. As a vegetarian, I always love breakfast served all day. I can always find stuff to eat among a breakfast menu-- this time, I went with a tasty burrito. Which was huge! The thing I almost couldn't tolerate about this little eatery was the HOT, STAGNANT climate inside the diner. I was beet red and sweaty by the time we ate and left. It was quite miserable. But the food was not too bad. read more
