My wife and I stopped by The Bricks by Maria in Goodland since we're new to the area and trying different local places. I ordered their 9 oz "ribeye" steak with a baked potato -- but it definitely wasn't a ribeye, and it didn't look or taste like 9 ounces either. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium, but the waitress seemed confused, and what came out was tough and hard to cut through. Service was just as disappointing -- no drink refills, and she never checked on us once. We were the only customers there (which should have been a sign), but we still wanted to give them a fair try. Unfortunately, the food was poor, the service was worse, and the price didn't match the quality. We won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This restaurant was a great stop on our trip. We wanted a big breakfast and we got it! The minute we walked in a quiet little guy greeted us with menus and silverware and took our drink orders. Then his mom? brought our drinks and took our order. I had the Bricks Breakfast with bacon and toast. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast. Everything was cooked as ordered and was delicious. We received excellent food with excellent service! We highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant! read more

Classic hometown cafe. Good basic food. Inexpensive. The Brick breakfast and the eggs Benedict were outstanding. Chorizo burrito was a bit heavy on the burrito and light on the chorizo. Coffee was excellent. And, of course, there is the tallest Van Gogh painting in the world. read more

Food was delicious! The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Full of labor and a must have. I never finish my plate and this time I did. I recommend swapping out the toast for a biscuit. Homemade biscuits were light and fluffy, a must as well. My husband had the skillet and enjoyed it as well. Owners were super pleasant and the place was nice and clean. We stopped in Goodland overnight on our way to Colorado at the end of July. We had dinner at The Bricks. We were the only customers. A woman was sitting up near the front--and there was a man working in the kitchen. Neither said anything until we asked " can we sit anywhere?" The woman didn't respond but the man said "anywhere" & brought us menus. I had meatloaf & my husband a steak. Not much flavor on either. The steak was like leather. A good stop but could be a real gem with a bit of help. Took a full hour for us to stop on our road trip. OFF I-70 about 5miles, downtown on Main, worth the stop if you have time. Service was bit slow but food was good. Locally owed but english hardly spoken here. Need a couple of HS workers waiting tables! Nice old restored building. Waited 40 minutes and didn't even get a drink order in. They need to hire an employee.

We decided to stop by for lunch while passing through town after reading all the good reviews. The restaurant was cute, but the food was not good. I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. When the plate was put down in front of me, I noticed a strange smell. I tried my pancakes, but they were rubbery and could not be cut with a fork. They had the consistency of a frozen, microwaved pancake. Then I tried a bite of my eggs, and I realized where the funky smell was coming from. They were disgusting. I am not sure if the eggs were rotten or if they had been cooked on the same grill as fish, but the eggs were inedible. The waiter was sitting and visiting with some friends that had come into the restaurant and never returned to our table to ask how the food was or see if we needed anything. I do not like to give bad reviews, but in this case, it is warranted. read more

It sits back off the highway in on Goodland's main Street. But it's worth the drive it's me and my wife's go to food spot when we come to Goodland and they have the best most consistent food in town by FAR! Don't miss the great family service and the ambiance of a historical building. Give them a try you won't regret it I promise. read more

On Main street in Goodland, we thought a locals joint for breakfast would be good, turns out it wasn't. We were the only ones in the place but yet the young man working the dining room barely acknowledged us as we walked in. He was focused on his phone while sitting at a table. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, was good, hash browns not so much. Wife ordered decaf tea but got coffee instead, probably a result of the language barrier. We ate quickly and left as it was not a comfortable environment. read more

So wonderful to find another amazing restaurant in this little town. We had a delicious breakfast of eggs Benedict (served on what looked like an English muffin but what actually a Mexican bread) with crispy has browns and coffee. Can't rely on the published hours. Have eaten here in the past on our way back from Colorado. Tried to stop for lunch at noon on a Friday and their FB page said they were open. It was definitely not open. Went to another restaurant and they indicated they are not open on a regular basis any more. read more

We stopped while enroute from Colorado. Nice cafe with about 10 tables. Nice varied menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lunch, we had fish and shrimp baskets with fries and Cole slaw. Perfect every time. Tasty Meals for every palette. My personal favorite is their blackened chicken salad. They have hamburgers and delicious fries, even sweet potato fries, lovely meat loaf and their Steaks are full of flavor. Their salmon is the best I've tasted in the lower 48 and don't forget their homemade desserts....Delicioso! If you prefer breakfast in the afternoon, look no further than The Bricks! read more
