An old well fed farmer inside the Brick.

Classic hometown cafe. Good basic food. Inexpensive. The Brick breakfast and the eggs Benedict were outstanding. Chorizo burrito was a bit heavy on the burrito and light on the chorizo. Coffee was excellent. And, of course, there is the tallest Van Gogh painting in the world.

Chicken fried steak, two eggs, hasbrowns and pancakes. $11 very good

A good stop but could be a real gem with a bit of help. Took a full hour for us to stop on our road trip. OFF I-70 about 5miles, downtown on Main, worth the stop if you have time. Service was bit slow but food was good. Locally owed but english hardly spoken here. Need a couple of HS workers waiting tables! Nice old restored building. Street parking, small bathrooms.

Everything on the menus is stellar. Breakfast all day.

The food was amazing and the service was top-notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal!

Waited 40 minutes and didn't even get a drink order in. They need to hire an employee.

Great local breakfast place. Good food and relaxed atmosphere. The Santa Fe omelette was just the right amount of spicy.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.

Well, I had high hopes for the food here, but everything except the friendly service and tater tots…read morewere a disappointment. We didn't come because of bathroom ratings, but those reviewers that mentioned the poor bathrooms understated conditions: There was not toilet paper or paper towels. Not good. I had the prime rib sandwich with tater tots. As I said, the tater tots were good. But the prime rib sandwich was much too spicy for my tastes. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. It did have Sriracha sauce so I probably should've avoided it. I love prime rib, but this was just OK. Not a super generous portion, and not something I would order again. My sister had the shrimp taco special and did like them. Shrimp were fried. My dad had a small burger and tater tots and did enjoy it. If you're in Oakley passing through as we were, I would skip this place and go with Sonic for food. Of course the owners / proprietors can't control this, but there was a loud and profane group of 4 young men at the bar (at 1:30 PM, we were there for lunch) who used the F word every third word. That situation normal for many bars. I'm sure. I'm just saying this isn't a place I would bring small children. Two of five stars because of the friendly service.
