We arrived in 4 minutes from ordering and waited 4 minutes for the food. In the car we notice the fries were soggy and cold. We got the pre toss in the trash lot. The cob salad was soggy and wet. Awesome stop!! My husband had a Shiraz burger, with a side salad and a baked sweet potato. I had a Ranch Melt with homemade chips- they were fantastic! Our only complaint was the sweet potato was a half, and it was tiny especially for the cost. Overall we were happy with everything and the chips were really great. The food is just what you expect from rural America. Tasty, served warm and real. The one thing that afford out about the chicken fried steak: no gristle. Not a hint. The mashed potatoes were not instant and the green beans were okay. The roast beef au jus was tasty and you didn't have to fight the fat in the beef. You can optionally top it with cheese, onion, green peppers and mushrooms. They have a full bar but ask what's on tap and disregard all the beer signs hanging around, they don't necessarily have it. I had a Kansas brewed beer, Time Portal Breakfast Brown Ale (http://www.kansasterritorybrewingco.com/time-portal.html) that reminded me of Newcastle Brown Ale but with a fuller, deeper flavour. I ordered the Grilled chicken breast dinner and my boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich. Grilled chicken is 2 seasoned 6oz breasts with 2 sides for $15. The only down side was the white corn tortillas which I think they tried to fry but they were not cooked completely so they fell apart and were really a greasy mushy mess ! Too bad cuz the filling was Delish! My hubby ordered the Tilapia as an entree! He really liked it. Yummy salad with his favorite black olives! A medium sized baked potato accompanied the nice sized tilapia filet. He said it was excellent! In my opinion the plate needed some visual appeal like a little parsley or some colorful veggies! I forgot to take a photo of our meals so you'll have to trust me! My plate was colorful and appetizing! My hubby's on the other hand looked bland but as I said he thought it was delicious! And I guess in the end taste was what we went for! The place was neat and clean, possibly recently renovated however the outside was pretty lack luster! My boyfriend and I came here around 9:20 after he got off work and wanted to try this place because of the reviews but we were turned down service because they were closed even though there was a party of about 10 at one table eating and then a party of 5 in the other room still looking at menus.. the open sign was on and all we wanted was something easy to eat.. The waitresses were very snobby and rude especially the blonde. We tried calling to reach a manager but of course on a Saturday night the manager wasn't there? If your restaurant says open til 10pm then you should follow the rules and not be rude to customers who walk in 40-45 minutes prior to closing. We will never come here to eat again simply because of how rude the staff was. If I could give this place 0 stars I would, you could have made a nice tip off of us. Absolutely disgusted with how rude everyone was, if you were closed your sign would be off and no one in there eating or still ordering!! We will be calling management Monday ! read more

Apparently, they were slow and decided to close early...since the town has approximately 4500 people, I wouldn't be surprised if they were slow every night. Read a lot of mixed reviews but decided to try it anyways. The appearance really isn't anything special but it was clean. Service was good. We have picky kids and they did well to accommodate them. I had the French dip and my family member had the Reuben with homemade chips. The sandwiches were fully loaded with meat and were $9 a piece. I felt like we got our money's worth. Food is good but the pricing is shady as hell. The don't tell you that EVERYTHING including common condiments are extra! MAYO is .50!!! We were taking a driving trip and stopped in Goodland KS. We asked the receptionist of the hotel for recommendations for dinner. One of his recommendations was Shiraz. We had an excellent dinner. My wife and I both had rib eye steaks cooked medium rare. The steak was excellent and raised without hormones by the owner of the restaurant. I liked this place overall. There was a screaming child in there when we are, and the service wasn't super friendly, but other than that we liked it. I had a Caesar salad with chicken. It was pretty good but the dressing could have been better. My husband ordered a crusted chicken sandwich thing. It was huge! It tasted burned but in a good way. My wife and I ate here tonight on a stopover on our trip to Colorado. We were welcomed by a young man at the reception area and seated. Within a couple of minutes our server, Kaitlynn, greeted us and took our drink order. When our drinks arrived, we ordered our meal and talked with her for several minutes about her university experiences. Our meals arrived shortly and were perfect. Very well prepared and delicious.
