It's a small town locale but it brings in off-road travelers and people from around the region as a fast and friendly diner-like eat-out option. Best part is it's affordable too. Stopped in, ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a chocolate malt. The malt was super thick, creamy, and tasty. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious, and I did appreciate the thick bacon. What a great little diner! Extremely friendly staff made it easy to order at the counter. Easy substitutions- we had fried mushrooms and jalapeño wheels in place of fries for our bacon burger and spicy chicken sandwiches. Burger was thick and juicy with thick, crispy bacon. Wonderful! Spicy chicken was not too spicy, good flavor and not dried out. Homemade pies looked delicious but didn't try them this time. read more

Very friendly staff. Stopped by our table asking where we were from & where we were going. Super nice!!! We loved our pit stop at Handi's! Traveling on Hwy 70, there are a ton of chain restaurants. It's so nice to have a local spot we can support! The service here was very friendly, on point when it came to helping out a family of 5 and just great quality. During the lunch rush, it took about 20 minutes to get our food, but we were enjoying watching all the locals catching up with each other. This is such a nice little place in rural CO. I couldn't find anything within a reasonable budget while staying in Burlington. I found this place about a 40 minute round trip drive from my hotel in Burlington to Stratton but man it was worth it. Somewhat diverse menu but not so much where they don't know what they're doing with any "cuisine" lol. I ordered takeout - the fried ravioli app and the taco salad. Devoured both. So good. Just passing through on my trip to see some of the smallest towns in Colorado, when I thought I'd give it a chance. I was beyond, way beyond, pleasantly surprised at the variety in the menu, pleasantness of the staff, and the personal interest the owners Ha(ley) and (Bra)ndi have put into their investment to make an oasis along the concrete river between Burlington and Limon. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich which I had difficulty seeing at first blush. Not due to it's size, which was actually quite substantial, but it was buried under a mountain of tater tots. Conversations between patrons seemed to die off as meals were brought to tables, which, according to my mom, is a sign of good eating. Let me get back to the owners and staff for a second. Such charming and gracious women, whose standards are far and away from what you might expect from your average interstate interchange. You can tell their hearts and souls are into it, and their motto, "Get Your Grub On," is true. Thank you for a respite from my travels read more

This is a great family own restaurant. The staff is super sweet, feels homey. The food was amazing, burger was a little dry but still great! We've been on the road and were starving and happened upon this place. What a wonderful little place! The ladies working here were so nice! Everybody knew each other and were friendly and the food was great! The vanilla milkshake was like a cup full of soft serve ice cream. So yummy! Wow - where do I start? I stumbled onto this place and boy am I glad I did. I'm not sure what was better - the food or the friendly owner and her daughter. I had lunch at about 1:30 and the place was nearly full. No wonder - my burger and tots were perfectly done and I had a peanut butter malt. The only thing that went to waste was the straw they gave me for my malt - it was so thick! Perfect. I love finding unique places and I really like spending my money with good people. Long drive from Moab back to Tulsa and found this gem! Probably one of the best burgers we had eaten in quite some time. Everything is cooked fresh to order. The service was very nice and seemed very family oriented. I had a cheeseburger and pickelos and both were awesome! We were on a family road trip from Colorado to Oklahoma. I stumbled across Handi's while looking at the route we would be driving and saw the reviews. My family and I decided to stop here on our way back from Oklahoma, based on the reviews only, and holy cow we were not disappointed! The burgers were large and very flavorful and my wife is in love with chicken tenders. This place has a ton of burger, chicken, chicken nuggets and chicken tender options so there is bound to be something for everyone. If you're passing through like we were, give them a try, you won't be disappointed. We had lunch here. The person taking our order was very helpful and tried to save us money. I had the hamburger, which was unusually good. My wife had the chicken sandwich and she liked it a lot. We were impressed by the number of locals (hard working ranchers) patronizing this place. It could be that this is one of very few restaurants in town, or maybe just the best restaurant in town. If you are driving past Stratton on I 70 and get a craving for a burger, drive right past the various McDonald's/fast food joints and head straight for this place. It is about a football field's distance off the freeway, easy to find and worth a stop. Nothing fancy, but good down home cookin'! read more
