    Burnt chicken fried steak
    Christopher C.

Went here to try it out against all the reviews. We were excited to have a breakfast place here in Kuna that we could escape to when the kids were at school. Sadly, the food was. It very good. We ordered the chicken fried steak; which the gravy was good but the steak was overcooked and burnt on one side. The chef flipped it and covered it with gravy. The hashbrowns were crispy and good but we were charged for cheese that wasn't on them. Also ordered the poutine. This is NOT poutine. The gravy was sour and they used shredded cheese and over cooked eggs. Adding hot sauce or ketchup didn't work. I can usually power anything down and suck it up but this is the first time in decades that I've not been able to eat something. Lastly, it took 20 minutes to ask for drinks and 10 mins to get water. The coffee is good. I wouldn't recommend eating here. I gave a 2 start because our waitress was kind enough to take my meal off.

The Pork Belly's "required uniform" complete with sexual innuendo.

The Pork Belly owners are intentionally and deliberately overcharging customers. The prices The Pork Belly are charging are anywhere from $.25-$2.00 more than the menu listed prices. This has been brought to the attention of the owners, Mike and Marisol Larson on multiple occasions since October 2024- by myself personally as a former employee, and as of December 2024 no changes have been made. The Pork Belly owners, Mike and Marisol Larson, divert all Online Takeout Order tips from tipped staff and keep it for themselves, in violation of State and Federal Labor Laws. The Pork Belly owners, Mike and Marisol Larson, completely disregarded employee concerns and discomfort around the new "uniform policy" involving a t-shirt that is sexually inappropriate as required uniform. The t-shirt in question has the picture of the butt of a pig, complete with testicles and sphincter, with the words directly underneath, "get in the pink". Concerns and issues brought to the owners were met with disregard, contempt, and retaliatory treatment of staff, including threat of punishment and termination. The Pork Belly owners, Mike and Marisol Larson have multiple employees who report having not received a paycheck in more than 30 days of work. Including minor children. In violation of State and Federal Labor laws and Child Labor laws.

Wow what a true hidden gem located in Kuna in the old fire station. The ambiance is modern, nostalgic and has a diner vibe to it. Once inside and seated the waitresses working here where awesome!! They both were super friendly and at the time we were there very busy but they hustled and made sure everyone was taken care of. I will start of 1st by saying I am super picky about bbq and while this isn't all BBQ the pork belly I had here today was on point. It was smoked and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of both. For food I had the pork belly hash with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, cheese, topped with 2 over easy eggs and pork belly. This was a perfect blend of flavors and a pro tip order the hog sauce this goes great with anything especially the pork belly! My wife had the The Southerner which consisted of a homemade biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, gravy, over eggs and potato side. Another great blend of flavors. One thing I will say is that the portions here are very generous and easily could be shared with an appetizer, but for us we ended up preserving our own and left in a meat coma. Plus they have a coffee bar and a drive up window that starts serving coffee/espresso drinks at 7am. We loved the vibe of this place and we will for sure be back....in a town that is desperate for dining options this is a true high point. While they are only open for breakfast and lunch this will be our new family favorite. Lots of great options as well as some gluten free and vegetarian options.

Newer place in the old firehouse. We arrived about 10am and had a 20 minute wait for two. As we sat on the benches outside, everyone coming out we visited with and all said "plenty of good" and had to go boxes. Now we are hungry! We were called in right on time and shimmied our way to the back table. The vibe is like diner style, old timey place where everyone just enjoying breakfast. The place was packed so expected slower service but really was pretty quick! Several people outside told us they had the Veggie Hash and added pork belly so that's what I tried. Mr had The Southern & a short stack. Food was out pretty quick and was good, warm and plenty to eat! My over easy eggs were perfect with no goopy whites and the Mr said his gravy ratio to the really soft biscuit was good (he said maybe 1/4 cup haha would have been perfect). Pancakes light and fluffy. The side of pork belly was deep fried vs pan fried.. but seeing how busy it was.. didn't discount. Meanwhile we saw lots of chillins with donuts and such all enjoying this little hot spot! We will be back!

This was our first time here, and it was great. The food was very tasty and fresh. Great large portions. Their specialty coffee were great too.

Great place to go for breakfast! The food was fantastic, I was so impressed with how crispy the bacon was. The service was quick and friendly. Definitely will visit again.

The service is just as bad as all of the other reviews have stated. Food was well above average but a little pricey for breakfast.

The food is incredibly well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, and I love that many of the dishes are uniquely served on cast iron plates -- it adds both character and keeps everything hot from first bite to last. The portions are no joke either. We ordered the Big Boy Omelette with their house potatoes and a BLT with fries, and both were outstanding. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and plated in a way that made it feel like more than just your average breakfast. At one point, I had to stop and ask another patron what they ordered because it completely filled their plate. It was the chicken-fried steak, and they told me it was cooked perfectly. I can eat -- but there is no way I could finish that chicken-fried steak by myself! The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Audrey, was on another level of fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, efficient, and genuinely made the experience better. Be prepared to wait -- it gets busy for a reason. The quality, portions, and service clearly draw a crowd, so plan ahead when going for breakfast. We will absolutely be back -- and we hope all the servers are like Audrey!

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

First visit: We ordered an omelet and pancakes--both were delicious and hit the spot. Since we liked it so much, we came back a second time. I got the breakfast burrito, which was delicious. My husband tried the Mr. Potato Head potato/omelet and loved every bite--he said it was hearty, well-seasoned. The only minor nitpick: The salsa that came with the burrito tasted a lot like store-bought Pace Picante. It was fine, but in a place with such great food overall, homemade authentic salsa would take it to the next level. All in all, a solid spot with good portions, welcoming vibes, and tasty breakfast options. We'll definitely be back--highly recommend! P.S. It was a bit too cold and we left our jackets on.

They really lean into the whole "bringing California brunch culture to Idaho" thing, so maybe my expectations were too high going in. But honestly... this was a pretty rough experience for me. I ordered the huevos rancheros because what feels more California brunch than that? When my plate came out, it looked weirdly plain and honestly kind of sad. Then my friend's huevos rancheros arrived and hers had all the toppings, sauces, avocado, etc. So apparently mine was missing half the dish. When I politely asked about it, I got a surprisingly snarky response that immediately made the whole thing uncomfortable. I really don't think I was rude about it at all. But the part that genuinely grossed me out was the mimosa tower situation. Two of the four glasses at our table literally had lipstick stains on them, and the others were cloudy/smudgy enough that we noticed immediately. That's the kind of thing you can't unsee once it's sitting at your table. I honestly don't really understand the hype because this place is constantly packed. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but between the mediocre food, awkward service interaction, and dirty glassware, I don't think I'll be back. I'd personally rather wait for a table at The Griddle or have a calmer breakfast at Rembrandt's instead.

What I got was a lump of overcooked, dry, unsliced, unseasoned pork roast with the mole poured over at the table. I spent the first five minutes just trying ti cut and tear the pork baseball apart and stirring it in the mole. I kept picturing Chef Ramsey taking a bite, spitting it back on the plate and flagging down the waiter,. "This is disgusting!" You know meat is dry when you must drink something because it keeps getting stuck on the way down! What I should have received was seasoned carnitas that spent at least some time with the sauce in the pan. I had to stop it was so bad! If it hadn't bern Valentines Day weekend, and if we hadn't already waited an hour to eat because it was busy, I'd have asked the waiter for something else. When the waiter came to check and asked, I was honest, he apologized and offered to have them prepare something else, but by this point I was just ready to leave. The Manager came, apologized and took my dinner off the bill, the right thing to do. We used to live in Kuna, but now it's at least an hour drive round trip, so I doubt we'll be back. Maybe if we are meeting friends/family in Kuna, but just us, I don't think so. Time to find good Mexican closer to downtown Boise!
