This place is a mom and pop place with limited seating, however don't let the look of the place make your judgement to early. We ordered the 2 egg breakfast and the manhattan skillet. The Portions were perfect in size for the price. We did see the biscuits and gravy plate and those biscuits were huge in size. Not sure having two would be necessary along with the eggs and hash browns. I'm glad I didn't order that item. Friendly servers and the service was average. read more

Stopped here on a road trip to grab some breakfast before continuing our trek - what a cute little spot! And it's definitely popular, there were no open tables when we walked in, but one cleared up and they cleaned it off pretty quickly and got us seated. They accommodated our requests to make small changes to our orders, and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious, and everyone here seemed very friendly. Would for sure come back if passing through again. read more

Local establishment with mostly an older crowd that serves breakfast all day along with sandwiches and burgers. Tried the daily special "Country Benedict" which was your choice of meat and eggs topped with gravy and served with hash browns. Very good but not wow. Gravy was thin and lacked flavor. Service was basic - maybe because I am not a local - but fast. Didn't come back to check how I was doing ("food okay?"), or more water, etc. Might have need an old-time bar was store at one time. Nothing to get too excited about the ambiance. May come back but no hurry to. read more

Went for breakfast and the food was amazing. I love the scenery and the staff. They had country ham which is a plus for me

Good food good prices nice atmosphère but service not so good. Definitely won't be going back.

Well, I've had 3 breakfast here. All 3 times were eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast, & coffee. The food is good, im a coffe snob, so it was ok, but not what I drink at home. The 1st time was exceptional. Good hot food and quick service. The 2nd visit yielded me slower service and a lukewarm breakfast at best. The 3rd time was again like my first. A bit slower, but hot, good food. Do not go here and expect New York City ambiance. This is a laid back old school café/diner. Just what the doctor ordered for a good breakfast. read more

YUMMY YUMMMY IN MA TUMMY.......................................coffee was good and puffy pancakes big biscuit is good

This restaurant's decor, including historic photos and a partially stripped brick wall, is charming, the diner vibe is very cool and the locals clearly like it. But I'd skip it unless you are a fan of barely toasted and very greasy toast, very greasy eggs, tasteless hard tomatoes and very weak, watery coffee. The hash browns are fine, that's about it in terms of food quality. read more

The food is always Great. And the service is consistently good. My Grandson loves the old style counter and stools. Breakfast is fantastic. read more

Good food, good prices. Had the 1/2 order of the Manhattan Omelet. Filled with a lot of meat and cheese. It was a little greasy but overall tasty. Others in my group had the Turkey sandwich (looked really good) and the crispy chicken (looked like a generic frozen breaded patty). Service was good, the place was packed. Support local! read more

Located in the old Turner House, this historical cafe has nostalgic charm. A person walked by my table and the floor squeaked and my table moved a little. I wouldn't change a thing about it . Love it! Our waitress Melissa greeted us with a big smile and provided us with top-notch service. I have to say that my enormously large pancake was one of the best pancakes I've ever had. It reminded me of the pancakes that my great grandmother used to make when I was a small child. I had one pancake for portion control but I could only eat about 1/3 of it. The best part is the crunchy edges all the way around. You are not going to beat their prices either. We were pleasantly surprised to see that this place provided good food at a reasonable price. You don't see that much anymore. I cannot wait to go back to this place again. read more

Came here on a trip from Boise to Twin Falls. Seemed like a nice local place, which it was. Under staffed, which seems to be too frequent. You could tell when we entered, since we were not locals, we didn't get immediate service. Employees working hard, but inefficiently. Ordered the soup of the day and a chicken sandwich. I was done with my soup before my husband's chicken sandwich even came out, although we saw it sitting in the window forever. Chicken sandwich was horrible, bun was burnt, no flavor at all, curly fries were overly crispy and ice cold. Took forever to get our check. We like to support small town small businesses, however, we will not back. read more

Wonderful little diner off the beaten track for any traveler who takes a minute to locate. Good and service great.

Not very good- haven't been here in couple years - stints was closed so friends wanted go here get "loco moco" - I added toast and sausage links ( charged $3.50 and I got one sausage link! ‍) the gravy on it was really good - most of the hash browns were under cooked and "wimpy"not crisp at all, to added to the situation cut hamburger Patty (pretty thick decent portion $ and the inside was pink mushy and not cooked at all ....service was pleasant and fairly fast - be another few years before try it again for sure read more

A delicious place to come for brunch. The food is very good and has always been hot and fresh when it comes out. There is variety to the menu. The portion sizes are great as well, I usually go home with a box of leftovers when I come here. Have not had a bad experience here yet :) read more

Wanted a local breakfast place after storms drove us to stay in Mountain Home. This cafe is quaint and the local morning hangout with a group of regulars the waitress addressed by name. I recommend eating here! Reviews were mixed but we tried it anyway. Omelette was very good and plenty of food. Western scrambler my husband ate was also good as well. Very friendly waitress kept our coffee refilled and even filled our travel cups. Prices were good as well. Beats eating at any chain restaurant. read more

I always enjoy the service at the Manhattan Café. The food is excellent if you need an old-school breakfast or lunch this is the place you want to try read more

I've been to Manhattan Cafe multiple times, with each visit being incredibly different. As a formal server, my biggest gripe is with my most recent visit. I came in at 1:25pm on a Sunday (party of two), 35 minutes prior to closing and was turned away. As I understand that employees want to get out and go home, it is absurd that the closing hour is listed as 2pm, and was turned away. A simple resolution to an issue like this, would be to provide a Kitchen Closing time. Also, the seating/interior could use a major overhaul. The food at Manhattan is excellent. Every visit, everything was cooked deliciously and properly. Although the service is slow, the food is worth it and the menu is priced just right. read more

Ok, super busy place in the mornings and seating isn't great. The tables are uneven and seating is outdated. The food is very traditional diner food but the quality was amazing. The service was outstanding and all of the waitresses were amazing and were doing the best they can with dilapidated building they are in. read more

Small little town just outside of Boise, but a lot of heart. The food is homestyle cooking with great prices and large portions. This is actually the second time I have eaten and enjoyed both times. The servers always stop by to refill drinks and bring napkins and smiles. Ricks thanks Benedict: to English muffins sit below a nice piece of ham and some poached eggs medium, smothered and cheesy hollandaise sauce. The hashbrowns or shredded cooked perfectly and brought out hot. My meal was $10.50, that came with coffee. There is an old feeling café Brooklyn style & with some brick walls, bar top and a couple of two and four top tables. Always has local smiles and friendly faces. I never experience long wait but this place always has people inside. Great place! read more

Decent stop for food. Small cafe where first come first serve seating on the honest system is done. Food was moderately decent. The killer Reuben had good taste with a sweet Coleslaw. Add some mustard and it was better. The omelet my daughter had was bland and boring. Pretty hard to screw up an omelet but this was one bite worthy. The toast was not toasted yet given a bath in liquid butter. The ice tea was not fresh. Gave it three stars since the sandwich was pretty good. Staff was very friendly but for sure had a small town level of urgency. If your hungry and need to just fill your belly while traveling such as we were - stop in. read more

Great portions. I ordered a sourdough pancake and bacon and eggs. I assumed when I ordered the bacon and eggs that I was ordering the meal, but the waitress told me no, those are sides unless you want the meal. Then got confused when I pointed at the meal. Glad I didn't get the meal bc the hash browns were the shredded bag kind and the toast tasted like it just had oil on it. My bacon was super crispy. So crispy it didn't taste that good. My bf got the Spanish omelet. They drowned it in sour cream and salsa. Too much. But in the plus side. The pancake was really good. read more

We checked this place out on a busy Sunday morning. It's small so luckily some nice people made room for us in the back. The prices were reasonable and staff friendly. My husband got the special, french toast. He was expecting the thick Texas style and got just regular bread. I got the ham & hashbrown skillet. It was a large serving and tasted great. The people next to us got country fried steak and it looked amazing. I may be back to give it a try! read more

Charming little place. Food was good and we enjoyed it. The ladies working seemed busy from the lunch rush and forgot about us for a wee bit. They recovered nicely and offered free drinks. They were sweet and personable. I would suggest to upgrade the tables and chairs for more eye catching first look at the place. Loved the old pictures of the town on the walls and the locals seem to really like it. We recommend you give them a try. read more

This place is a good place to get a meal here. They have a lot of different food. It mostly tells you what's on it.

One of my favorite breakfast spots ever! Quality food, great coffee, great small town ambiance. I ordered a half order ham and cheese omelette. It was big as were the crispy hash browns. The slice of sourdough toast was tasty too. I could only finish about 2/3 of my meal. The wait staff are on the ball and friendly too. read more
