This was the first time I used the Plumbers Connection. Their response to my initial call great and setting up the appointment was easy. One thing that was strange (although not problematic in any way) was that I got a missed call from one of the plumbers before the appointment date. When I called back they asked who I was and if I was calling about having dents removed from my car, which I thought was odd. The plumber (Joe) then explained that he was calling people to collect owed payments and must have called me by mistake. I was unaware that plumbers also often moonlight as auto-body repairmen but I was like, OK, he's got more than one business, no big deal. They called me the day of and asked if they could come earlier, to which I said ok, although I wasn't home at the time they arrived. They were waiting out front and came in. Both plumbers (Joe and his apprentice) were courteous and got to work right away, their work being to install a water line for my new fridge which has a water dispenser and ice maker. The problem was that they didn't pull the fridge out first to check if there already was a water line (which there was) and drilled holes in my cabinets and pulled the stove away from the wall. When they told me there was a water line already, Joe (who was also teaching a new plumber/his assistant) said he may as well just make a new one, which I thought was weird since it wouldn't make sense to have two water lines running for no reason. He told me it wouldn't be that much cheaper because he already put in the labor (why it was my responsibility to pay for him not checking behind the fridge first, I really don't know, in addition for me basically paying him to make holes in my cabinets for no reason) but he was good about doing what I asked and hooked up the water line that was already there in back of the fridge instead of making a new one. I also asked him to check my kitchen faucet which had stopped spraying correctly due to calcium buildup. He told me it would be cheaper to purchase a new faucet than to have them clean out the old one (which he took apart and now it sprays wildly in all directions, so the faucet is worse than when they arrived) and that he could come back once I get a new one to install it. A simple google search showed that if you soak the faucet in vinegar, oftentimes most of the buildup is removed and the faucet functions like new again. I didn't see how purchasing a new faucet for at least $200 (of the ones I was looking to buy) plus his labor and installation could possibly be cheaper than removing the calcium buildup but I told him I'd contact him when I bought the new faucet. That day, before they left, they charged me using an iPad but did not show me the charges ahead of time, only the total, and told me that it was a new billing system so they couldn't email the invoice right away. I called a day later and asked for the emailed invoice. They sent it immediately, however, upon reviewing it, it seems they charged me for labor of installing a new water line, which was exactly what they had not done! Needless to say, I asked my husband to call them and adjust the price because I didn't want to pay for someone basically destroying my cabinets for no reason. The company was great in their response and timely in refunding me $45 (of a $210 bill) for the labor but it left me feeling a bit let down about their trustworthiness since I was charged for something that wasn't done (a new water line, rather than just hooking up an old one). Overall, the work itself was fine (aside from them using all of MY clean rags from under the sink to sop up water, instead of using their own that they should've brought with them) but I was somewhat disappointed in the honesty of the billing. They corrected their overbilling but it took some follow-up on my and my husband's part. I wondered if the reason they were having "trouble" with their new billing system on the iPad and couldn't let me see the charges at the time before my credit card was charged were because they were trying to charge me for work that wasn't done. It could have been simple human error (or the particular plumber and not indicative of the company itself) and I gave them 3 stars because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but I am still questioning whether or not I will use them again. I wouldn't say emphatically that I would avoid their service, but it gives me pause to consider other plumbers. I hope this doesn't deter others from using them as the work itself was good, but please look your bill over closely before letting them charge you. Good luck! read more

Very happy with everything about this business. The plumber was only going to be a few minutes late and called me to say so. Now that's common courtesy and good business practices but I'm used to no calls for no-shows or very late shows with no calls so being 10 minutes was nothing yet they were polite enough to give a heads up. Now the job performed was quick and very reasonable. The person was a great personable guy and if I knew all of this I wouldn't have spent hours trying to fix it on my own and I mean over several days when the job only cost $150. I found a new plumber because I've always got ripped off in the past and have never been pleased with plumbers, handymen or electricians so this was a pleasant surprise. They were not able to come out that day to do the hydro jetting, but they sent Joe over to clear the stoppage so that my family could use the shower, sinks, and toilets. OMG! I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with this company. I put off having repairs for a year because of past bad experiences with plumbers and contractors and the prices I had been quoted. This company responded within 15 minutes of my online request for a service call and set up an appt. for the next day, and kept within the 2 hr. time frame of arrival. Zach was on time, he was able to troubleshoot 4 plumbing issues in my home. Bath/Shower combo - only the shower worked. Because the brand was Danze, I ordered a part online thinking it would be needed as well as save time. Zach determined that replacing the part was overkill. The problem was the diverter and told me to return the $100 part for a refund. He replaced or fixed the diverter and now my tub fills. Kitchen faucet- hot water did not work, I had been boiling water because the hot water valve leaked when my son replaced the faucet. Zach determined that the problem was not the hot water valve which could have cost quite a bit more, he determined that the hot water line had debris which was preventing the water from flowing - he cleared the line and it works perfect. Toilet - was constantly filling so I had shut off the water. - Zach replaced fill valve and flapper. Danze faucet in bathroom - water would not flow or would spray all over the bathroom - Zach took the faucet apart and worked on it quite awhile to free up the water flow. I was most impressed with Zach's troubleshooting skills. Where some plumbers would take the easy way out and say the unit needs to be replaced which is very costly for the customer; he takes the time to find out what is causing the problem and lets you know if can be fixed or should be replaced. This is a company with integrity. They care about building and keeping a good reputation. The total cost for the 4 repairs was $325. The initial conversation with Monica was very pleasant. She was able to quickly understand my requirements and get me a quote and a time slot for when the technician could come out. A little over a year ago, I had another company hydro-jet a blocked drain. I must admit, I was not impressed with the performance of the plumber or the tools he used, did not have a long snake and the hydro-jet was electric powered. When the same line was blocked again, I was not about to contact the same company. Also, the warranty had expired two weeks earlier, a blessing in disguise. When checking reviews, The Plumbers Connection reviews were very good so I decided to give them a try. In a short period of time, I knew the plumbers were very knowledgeable. When they recommended the hydro-jet, I gave them the history. They said they would do a good job and the drain should not have clogged up again in such a short period of time. From the start, I could see a completely different hydro-jet process. Theirs was gas powered, far more pressure that the electric one. After several passes, they checked the line with a camera to assure it was clear. They demonstrated how good the drain was draining by filling the sink halfway and then pulling the stopper. The drainage was so good, a funnel formed above the train and you could hear a sucking sound, something I have never heard from this drain. The other company did not perform this demonstration. I really really wish that i could review the work that these guys do. Unfortunately i can only comment on my experience with their service and project manager. I own a grooming salon that was moving locations and these guys came recommended from the contractor doing our build out. They dicked us around and strung us along for 2 1/2 months before we went with Punk Rock Plumbing instead. (Who, as an aside, was way more communicative, helpful, and also cheaper! So in a roundabout way this could be considered a blessing) They caused our build out to get WAY behind and after we basically had to harass them to get any answers we were finally told they did not have time to do our job. WHY WAS THAT NOT COMMUNICATED EARLIER??? I am so pissed off that we wasted so much time with them. I wish we had never contacted them in the first place, because it snowballed the project and caused us to start paying rent on a space we can't even use. I use The Plumbers Connection at work with our clients, so naturally when my husband accidentally broke one of the spigots in the outside of my house at 9:30 pm and he couldn't get the shut off valve to turn off, I called TPC. After purchasing a home, my wife and I realized that we had a couple of minor plumbing issues to tend to regarding our kitchen sink and faucet. This is where Yelp came through in the clutch! I found The Plumbers Connection and saw a combination of dozens of five-star reviews and the ability to quickly get a quote for the work we needed done, which was replacing the faucet cartridge because of a dripping faucet and inspecting a minor leak in the pipers under the sink. Richard provided me the best quote of all the companies I contacted on Yelp and I was able to get an appointment scheduled for the next day. Zach arrived and actually had to come back the following day because of a specific tool needed to remove the old cartridge from the faucet. Needless to say, it wasn't an emergency and we weren't charged double for the second visit, and he quickly replaced the cartridge, explained the minor leak under the sink and fixed it. I was amazed at how low the price was, especially considering the aforementioned other quotes and because of the fact that it completely solved the problem -- our faucet was no longer slowly dripping (cartridge) and the pipes under the sink were no longer leaking even a tiny bit (tubular tail piece and rubber tube trap connector).
