I love the new playground museum! It's the same ownership as the playground at Grossmont center. I was amazed by the size and open floor plan when we walked in. The color scheme is beautiful and creates calm environment vibe. No kids were running around screaming from room to room. It's like the kids recognized the difference and moved accordingly. There was still a trampoline which of course kids were jumping and having a great time. It was not library quiet but also not the wild west. I liked the balance. My fave thing at the entrance was a hand washing station. It was out of order so hand sanitizer was offered but I thought it was amazing. You should totally wash hands before going into a shared play area. It's a good attempt to keep germs and spreading illness low. They offer many rooms: play structure with slide and ball pit, rocks, robotics, spinning chairs, kitchen, gardening, puzzles, coloring, legos, grocery store, trampoline and a great infant to toddler area. Additional cost rooms are diy slime, canvas painting or artwork, glow in the dark room. You can reserve a nice seating area for your family to relax while kids play and they also offer birthday party packages. Pricing is higher than Grossmont which makes sense for all the new additions, location and size. There is no in and out privilege. Private lot with a good amount of parking! This is a thoughtfully executed learning/play center. Highly recommend! read more

Such an amazing find in Santee. I came here with my mom group and we were all seriously impressed. It's not your typical indoor playground, it feels so thoughtfully designed, creative, and interactive, almost like a little world for kids to explore. The space is clean, safe, and set up in a way that lets kids play freely while still feeling really calm and organized. What made it even better was how welcoming and kind the staff were. They were so accommodating with our group and made everything feel easy and enjoyable. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience for both the kids and the parents. All of our kids had the best time, and honestly, so did we. It's one of those places that makes mom group outings feel effortless and special. We're already planning to come back. Pros: 1) My 5 and 9 year-olds both had fun. 2) This is mostly a kindergarten and below place. But older kids can still entertain themselves. 3) The bean sand box, supermarket pretend area and flying feathers were a big hit with my 5-year-old. 4) My 9-year-old liked making the slime, the lego area and the big jumping green bounce area. 5) We stayed for over 4 hours and the kids were never bored. 6) The staff is always active cleaning up and making sure things look nice. Cons: 1) This is expensive especially if you come on the weekend when they Jack up the price more. 2) You have to buy their grippy socks. 3) Only one adult per child is free. 4) my 9-year-old liked it. But I could see a lot of older kids getting bored. Both my kids had a great time here and didn't want to go home. However at this price point I see this as a special occasion place to go. read more

We absolutely love this indoor playground, it has easily become our favorite in San Diego. So clean, low walls so you can see all your kids in different areas if you have multiples. So many hands on activities, most included with entry, also some add ons. The staff is the most genuine and sweetest staff and they all are so helpful with any questions you have. The owner is also a doll. Her husband and herself take great pride in both of their locations both Santee and La mesa. We visit the Santee location most often. Lastly I love that it covers areas for most age ranges. I have a 1,3 and 6 year old and they all enjoy themselves. read more

Me and my family went in for a tour of the playground museum today and all I can say is WOW. 10/10! Will totally recommend! It's beautiful, Clean, Staff is friendly, and there is SOO much for the kids to do. I have a 4 year old and a 20 month old and they were absolutely stoked with all of the activities. My oldest played with slime and had so much fun in the kitchen/grocery store area. They even have a 3 and under area with sensory walls and age appropriate toys. So stinking cute. Only downfall is that it is a little pricey but if you get the membership after a few visits it pays for itself! Can't wait to go back read more

4/5 Stars We took our son here and overall had a really good experience. The facility itself is clean, well organized, and has a lot of fun play areas for kids. Our son had a great time exploring and burning off some energy, and it's definitely a nice place to spend a couple of hours with little ones. One thing families should be aware of is the pricing structure. If both parents come, they charge an additional $10 for the second parent, even if you're just sitting and watching your child play. My wife is currently 34 weeks pregnant, and they still required the extra parent fee for her to come in with us. Also, a couple of the activity areas inside the playground are additional add-ons, so the base admission only gives access to about 75% of the facility. It's still a nice experience, but the extra charges can make it feel a little pricey for what you get. It would also be great if they offered a military discount, especially since there are a lot of military families in the Santee/San Diego area. Overall though, it's a very nice indoor play space and our son had a lot of fun. Just be prepared for a few extra fees depending on how many adults are coming and which areas you want to use. read more

I was looking for great spots in San Diego to take my visiting niece and nephew ages 3 and 6 and came across The Playground Museum which seemed like a great option to keep the kids off the tablets and do something creative instead. We got an all access family day pass and I was able to join my sister and her kids. My niece loved the maker studio and all the painting supplies and arts and crafts that were available, the staff we're excellent and super friendly and outgoing with the kids. The facilities we're very clean and also seemed really thoughtfully laid out. We felt comfortable letting the children explore all the building areas and immersive rooms. My nephew also had a great time at the slime lab. The guided experience plus the take home craft for both of them really made it worthwhile. We're definitely keeping the grip socks handy as we'll be back next year when they visit! read more

The children had gripper socks but not your brand so We had to buy your socks the children wondered around after an hour pretty much done with the experience. My three year old son had a blast here. We spent three hours playing and it flew by. The place is really clean with lots of different interactive play areas, like the sand pebble pit. We loved the market and kitchen area. It is definitely a 4 and under play center. My criticisms come from the website and lack of information or even misinformation. First, I thought the website said you had to wear Playground socks only, so I bought two pairs. Not the case. You can wear whatever socks you want. I found the pricing online to be confusing. I wanted access to all of the play areas, plus the dark art area and the interactive screens. I purchased the all access pass because I wasn't sure if the general pass covered those areas. Turns out it does. The all access pass just allows you to make slime to take home and possibly do art. In three hours, we were the only people who did slime. We didn't do the makers art studio because it didn't appear to be open. We got a pass for it upon check in, but the area remained dark for the duration of our stay and no staff ever went over to it. Also, the "café" was the same way -- dark and unstaffed. So I say get the general, cheapest pass and have fun. It's worth every penny. Don't waste your money on art or slime. read more

Definitely a new favorite place for me and my kids! This indoor playground is amazing for my 2 and 3 year old. They have a blast, it feels clean for now, there is so much to explore, and since it's so new it's hardly busy on the weekdays. I think it's perfect for Littles. My one recommendation is to install non-toxic sanitary wipe stations around each play area, please. I've been to other indoor playgrounds where you see the workers constantly wiping down the toys as the pick them up which is reassuring to see as a parent knowing that these places are definitely germfests. Having the wipe stations would allow parents to help clean or wipe incase something goes in the mouth or gets sneezed on. I've also seen other playgrounds have bins off to the side for parents to throw toys into in case something does get "contaminated." Just some advice. We love this place and truly want to see it thrive since it is sooo fun and much needed in the neighborhood. read more

We had such an amazing experience at the Santee Museum! The facility was incredibly clean, well-organized, and full of fun activities for children and families. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Everyone was kind, friendly, and genuinely happy to help. I also loved how diverse and inclusive the environment felt. There was something for everyone to enjoy, and you could tell a lot of thought and care went into creating such a positive experience. My daughter had the best time and was having so much fun that it was hard to tell her it was time to go home! She was engaged, excited, and smiling throughout our entire visit. I have seen some of the negative comments about this place, and based on my own experiences, they simply do not reflect what I have seen. I have known the owner for years, and she is one of the most down-to-earth, kind, and welcoming people I know. She treats everyone with respect, is friendly to people from all backgrounds and cultures, and genuinely cares about the families who visit. Our experience was nothing short of amazing, and we will definitely be returning. 1/5 stars- this place is cute but they try to rip you off, and they do not monitor children who are hurting others, nor do they staff enough and children are constantly tripping over stuff left out. The fact that they charged me for an older child's play pass when the employee knew that I was ignorant it was cheaper for my son to have a monthly pass was deceptive. Once I realized the mistake they would not compensate. If you forget the socks, forget it they will charge you every single time there is no leeway. They regularly close early and there is no notice given to the members. So you pay for a play pass and drive there just to find out it's closed or closing that day. There is plenty of times no staff is monitoring the door and children can run outside without anyone noticing. I'm extremely disappointed as soon as my membership ends I'm avoiding this place like the plague. Very disturbing how they treat their patrons. I encouraged multiple families within our circle to get play passes here and have been here several times, I believe today was my 6th visit and everytime I have had concerns over cleanliness and had to bring issues to staff members attention which is likely why they are so annoyed at me. I have a 4 month old infant and often times I'm caring for him while cleaning up so my older toddler doesn't trip on things. It's disappointing that instead of pleasantly receiving feed back that something needed cared to, or that a child was in danger of harming themselves or others, I was met with annoyance and irritation. I'm also sad that the loyalty and enthusiasm I had for this playground displayed in my encouragement to others to purchase passes for their families has not been reciprocated in a warm welcoming environment for my children to play. read more

I came here with my friend and her kids and my kids This girl was neither a manager or an owner she had no work clothes on she comes up to my kids yelling at them saying empty your pockets to them and they got scared because she apparently said her Co worker saw them play with the gems mind you the gems are 40 cents on shein and I payed 40 dollars for my small daughter's to make slime and after the coworker tells them there not free so they put them back but that other girl came to us accusing my daughter and all of them are stealing even after they put them back she said she knew our culture and how stealing is bad. Mind you we are American, wouldn't recommend for anyone to come to a place where you get discriminated. read more

I had to decide which sort of ticket to buy before I went in and with the all inclusive experience being a whopping $45 I just chose to do a monthly membership since it's basically the same price as two visits if you want to do both of the art station and the slime station. The first thing we noticed was that most of the remote control trucks were broken in the area with the pebbles. That was disappointing because a lot of the boys were so excited to play with them and spending a lot of time trying to figure out why they weren't working. A lot of other toys already broken as well. The place itself is very nicely done and pretty. It seems to be geared toward a little bit younger kids. There isn't really that much to do as far as jumping climbing etc. But honestly, the atmosphere was way less chaotic and annoying than the playground in Grossmont center. I appreciated that they were not unsupervised 12 -year-old boys pummeling the little ones in the play area like at Grossmont center. It would've been nice to have a few more physical things to do. There really is just a small play structure and a large bounce pillow but other than that not really a lot to do physically if you're trying to get energy out. There's a lot of space taken up in the middle for birthday parties where they could probably have a few more fun things to do. Seems like kind of a waste of space. Maybe they could push that to a back corner or something. The private cabanas to rent made me laugh, but honestly not a bad idea. Maybe on an insanely crowded day.. But just like the other playground plenty of parents, staring at their phones while their kids throw beans across the floor or tear up the toys. I really loved that they had building toys, such as Legos, blocks and magnet tiles, but I can see that not lasting long as I literally saw a parent putting some of the magnet tiles in her pocket. It's also cool that they have board games and stuff, but I'm sure those are going to go fast. There were already pieces missing to some of the games we were trying to play. The wildest thing about this place is that it's geared for youngchildren yet they don't sell actual food other than snacks and they don't let you leave to get food and come back! I don't really know how you can say you are a child friendly place if parents aren't even able to feed their child a meal while they are there. They have snacks and coffee, but if my kid is there and it's lunchtime, I'd like to be able to feed him actual lunch. Most likely it's to discourage you from spending a lot of time there but if I'm paying $25-$45 for admission, I'd like to be able to stay a couple hours and still feed my child. Plenty of other places like this allow you to bring your own food. The girls on staff were super friendly and nice. Slime kitchen was awesome The art center was all dark and nobody was over there so we didn't do it. It was a little bit unclear how to use both the slime kitchen and the art area since often there was nobody over there. Overall, I would say if your kids are pretty young and you want a more bougie upscale play experience and can afford it this place would suit you well. If you have older kids and are looking for a way to get their energy out w climbing, jumping, etc. I would stick with Funbelievable. I love the concept. It was honestly a pretty relaxing vibe for an indoor playground however, I see a lot of the cool little things like board games and magnet tiles getting destroyed/lost because disrespectful parents are either stealing them or not supervising their kids. Hopefully with the price so high they are able to replace them. Maybe that's why they had to charge so much to account for that. We will probably go back at least while it is new before people start ruining it all haha. allowing reentry so you can feed your kid and maybe a couple more active toys and the rating would probably go up for me. read more

This experience was the worst experience of my life. I am the dad speaking on behave of what I heard. Today my kids went to this playground for all my kids and friends. We went so that the kids can play and we sit on the couch the kids went and playing with slime that paid for while my other daughter which are teenagers went to go look at the charms that are on display for everyone to touch, play, and take. My teenagers went to go look at the charms and thought they were free so she went and touched them, then a worker came and said those aren't free they are for money my daughter was being very polite telling her that she didn't know so she put them back and the worker saw right in front of her eyes. My kids didn't say think about it thinking it was all solved. A few minutes later one of the so called "workers" with no badge or anything to verify that she works there she comes up to my kids and says "do you have anything in your pockets let me see your pockets" basically accusing my kids of stealing! which i know wouldn't be true because i know my kids. she says " I know your guys culture and i know how you feel about stealing" First she assumed that we weren't American's and that because weren't not "American" that we steal my kids explain the situation to me and tell me everything that happened when they were going to the charms she says she has camera footage? camera footage of what that my kids putting it back?!?! then after my friend writes a review. The worker goes and calls my friend apologizing to her. my friend insults her and yelled at her for what she did she ends up yelling back and and saying i have camera footage the only camera footage you have is my kids putting it back. honestly I think this was the worst I was racially, profiled and workers assume that my kids stole which I don't appreciate. my kids came back home with teardrops in their eyes because they were racially filed and accused of stealing which they would never do cause my kids have a 4.0 GPA and wouldn't do something like this. I don't recommend coming here because i surely won't be I will be telling everyone about this you lost a loyal and high paying customer today. read more
