Lots of fields for various organized sports to play on. I saw soccer and flag football being played here on a lazy Sunday. There is also some back routes for a bit of hiking and even off roading for bike enthusiasts. A side field was being used for RC car enthusiasts. A neat hidden mini lake exists here too. read more

Yes, this is a great large park with lots to do or I should say, it offers a lot of opportunities to do things. For example, the park offers a variety of sports fields such as softball, baseball, football, and soccer fields. The park also has a trail system that connects the park to the surrounding community of Santee. The park allows for concerts, family and community BBQ's. During my visit, I noticed they had several playground equipment stations, restrooms, concession and shaded pavilions. Like I said, the park is large at 55 acres according to the The City of Santee's website. The park also has and a aquatic center and a YMCA in the same place. It certainly has a lot to offer. Lawn chairs and blankets. Family and friends. Live music and entertainment for all. We've been to this park primarily because of the Santee Summer Concert Series, and we love it. The performance stage is well lit and the guys running the sound board do an awesome job. I like the variety of music offered at this free event. After speaking with a longtime resident, he mentioned that the concert series began at the Trolley Square outdoor mall, where there's a small amphitheater at the end of the trolley line. As the crowds grew, the SSCS relocated to this park and each year the number of attendees continues to grow. Depending on the schedule, there are sponsors and vendors on-site offering food and/or beverages for purchase. There was Phil's BBQ available for one night, Wings-N-Things the week afterwards, then a group of food trucks (Devilicious, New Orleans Cuisine & Catering, SnoCal shaved ice, and Taco Picasso) for the following week's concert. Local brewery BNS sponsored a beer garden and brought a couple of kegs for concert goers to buy craft beer. Beer! Apparently open containers are allowed at SSCS because I noticed folks wandering with beverage cans around the park not getting hassled by Sheriff deputies patrolling the event. I did see concert pros in the know with their elaborate canopy setups, rolling picnic coolers with their own snacks, and open wine bottles too. Hopefully it continues to be a chill atmosphere and some idiot(s) don't ruin a great thing for the rest of us. Fun times at Town Center Community Park for SSCS. Families get to listen to live music on a beautiful summer evening. Although many kids could care less about this particular music scene, they do get the chance to roam around the park, which spans the size of several soccer fields, or adjacent playground with their friends and hang out for a while on a weeknight while parents and elders enjoy the show. Maybe even notice a full moon rising above the nearby mountain range towards Wildcat Canyon Rd as a picturesque evening backdrop to the performance stage. read more

Parking lot was super busy more than I have seen in a long time. Nice seeing baseball practice going on and people walking their dogs. There is lacrosse try outs posted and overall park is clean. read more

Good luck finding the one bathroom in the whole place obscurely tucked away on the west side of the park between the main road (N. Cuyamaca) and behind the baseball fields. read more

I love the Fourth of July celebration here, I love the fields on Sunday mornings. However, I do not love the first fields (near the jungle gyms) on Sunday mornings as they are SOAKED and SOGGY. This is a great place to take my toddler and his tiny soccer ball on Sunday mornings to practice running drills. Or maybe I'm the one running drills and he's training me? We did notice that by 10 more trainers and/or dads are out with kids working on the footwork for soccer. read more

This park is pretty brand new, it was finished and open to the public back in October 2010. This park is HUGE!!! and the bathrooms are pretty darn nice for a public park. They were CLEAN! and the toilets weren't those nasty jail cell metal ones. We went here for both our sons football games (they play for the Mira Mesa Chargers), and they had two huge football fields. There weren't any stands for the parents, so bring a chair. But they did have a few scattered gazebos and even a Snack Bar. I must say, the Santee Ravens have a damn good park. There's no scoreboard tho. read more

MOTHER'S GROUPS ARE TAKING OVER ALL THE PARKS ON WEEKDAY'S!!!! So here is how it went down... Drive to Woodglen Vista park... No parking and kids and mothers and strollers galore!!! OK, moving on. Next attempt, Shadow Hill park.. Same damn thing. Only this time there were even MORE of them if you can believe it. On our final attempt of the day we come here... And would you believe it I told you that it was empty! Awesome... Now I don't mind some people but with 5-7 day care kids an already packed just creates chaos. It's nice here that the play area is surrounded by fields so if a kid wanders off a little don't have to worry about the parking lot being so close, there are two separate jungle gyms and swings. A nice gazebo close to the play ground with picnic tables. A close and clean restroom. And even misters! On those hot Santee days those misters are Gold! Now don't you stay at home moms read this and decide to move your moms groups to my park... I would hate to start a war between home day cares and moms groups but trust it can be done! read more

Had an awesome time at the park for the summer concert series that Santee had at the park! Too bad I just found out about it and this was the last concert of the summer! The nights theme was elvis as an impersonator sang for the concert. At the park there were a couple vendors including barona and various food trucks. Everyone brought their own chairs, blankets and booze and relaxed in a family fun environment. If that wasn't enough, they had a contest for best decorated space which was rewarded a prize of $225 in gift cards to various reaturaunts. Next year I'm in! read more

This is a great park!! There is a full sized turf football Field and soccer Field, along with open grassy areas for you own games. The Fields are brand new and in great condition, they have a decent playground for little kids and two pavilions for seating, along with a few scattered tables and a stage. The park is along the San Diego river, so there is a small problem with mosquito's, I haven't had much of a problem but I have heard some complaints. Most people are out there to exercise so it shouldn't be a big deal BUT parking is only at one end of the park, away from the turf and play ground, or you can park up by the sports plex and walk down. So don't expect to have your car nearby. There are no built in BBQ's here so make sure to bring your own! read more

Very nice Community Park! Don't be fooled by the many Baseball diamond/fields! There is much more in back! Including a YMCA, soccer fields, trails, walking paths, remote control mini 4x4 dirt track, Stage for events/bands, kiosk & display boards giving information and up coming events. Nice sized parking lot in the back: use Riverwalk Street to Park Center Dr. to the south. Also there is dirt parking expansion for major events: Like Santee River Days Festival I went to last weekend. PS: Santee has more events this weekend for San Diego River Days- sandiegoriverdays.com During the River Days Festival a lot of new trees were planted! THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS & FAMILIES! The walkway path goes all the way around the many soccer fields, open area/stage, restroom facility, cooling mist shower, playgrounds, to two bridge connections across river to YMCA & Baseball diamonds parks, parking lot, and past remote control mini 4x4 dirt track (there is berm to watch from), there is also a large picnic area with two gazeboos for larger groups. Near the picnic area is a connection to San Diego River Trail, and path going over to lake/river banks. There are many long trails for hiking & biking besides the paved paths. Now the baseball facilities are AMAZING, stadium style bleachers, snack bar stations, picnic tables, nature river/creek settings, many parking lots, pedestrian/bike bridge over Cuyamaca St. This saturday had hundreds of families participating in games, and others practicing late. If you walked all the connecting paved paths in this park complex you'd probably do 2 miles of walking, if not more. After the eastside park there are open fields with trails to other area of town/river. read more

This is a very nice park and well maintained. It has a large parking lot and many fields to include a sports turf field. Thus a park for kids to play and very wide walking path for them to ride bikes. The bathroom facilities are nice as well. This park is sort of hidden behind the YMCA and next to the Santee SportsPlex. Santee has many parks to play in, and this one is very large and has a music venue stage area that opens to a large field. It could be a little hard to find shade on a hot day since it has such large fields with minimal trees to provide shade. However this is fine for fall to spring weather since it doesn't get to hot during that time. Come for a jog or just to relax. There are a some folks that even fly model airplanes here since it is so open. read more

I wish this park was here when I was younger. I would have played sports even more then I already did growing up. I take advantage of it now to run and just relax. I do wish you could play on the indoor soccer fields without having to pay to be in some league. Still this is a great addition to Santee. read more

Softball field gates are locked open with heavy chains, when the league is not playing. Brand new kids jungle jim equipment locked up with gates and chains, only seems to be open when the softball league is there playing. I thought if its a COMMUNITY PARK ITS FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY NOT JUST for THE SOFTBALL LEAGUE. What's really sad if you go to the park after the softball league has played the area, and bathrooms are as dirty as can be littered with sunflower seed shells, trash: used water bottles, left over food, trash falling out of the trash cans and onto the concrete, the park is littered with cigarette butts. Concerns with the sports plex on several occasions baseballs come over the nets and almost hit people walking on the sidewalks, or the bridge crossing into the football fields. On the walking paths many times you will find dogs off leash running around one dog a pitt (nothing personal against the breed) we could not even see an owner. read more

I live right in the this area, and it's an extremely friendly and gorgeous place to meet up wether it be or a pick-up soccer/ football game, or to set up a nice picnic on the regular fields. My friends and I have met up multiple times to practice football, and more often then not we will find in empty, or people willing to split the fields for you. My advice since one of the three fields is turf, bring cleats and wear a shirt, sliding in it can give same nice little burns. Other than that fantastic place read more
