I passed by the restaurant twice and was glad to find out that it opened for lunch on Friday. I was the only customer until I was about to leave. After Covid, they switched from serving Irish food to Asian fusion which didn't make much money. So they switched back to Irish food and Michelin contacted them again! I didn't realize how much meat the Jamett's grill had. The lamb was absolutely delicious. The meatball was made of Wagyu beef, using either sauce was yummy. The two pieces of pork were ok. The lean part was a big tough. The sausages were a bit spicy, but pleasantly tasty. I wasn't able to finish the meat. The greens were a quarter of grilled cabbage topped with the sauce and pieces of ham. I personally thought the ham was unnecessary because the sauce itself was enough to flavor the cabbage. Gur Cake ice cream was the most surprising one. Some salt on the bottom, then a layer of chocolate custard, some corn flakes and a scope of cinnamon ice cream. It was a new thing for me since I never had anything like it. The waiter told me that it was the most ordered dessert. The restaurant setting is pleasant with two floors. I sat by the window watching the tour buses and people down there. The waiters were courteous and patient. One thing about the toilet for women, they provide free tampons and sanitary pads.

What a delicious and interesting meal in a cozy setting! Since we are not Irish, we couldn't understand most of the menu but when our waiter explained it to us we were excited about so many items! Everything we tried was delicious - especially the cured salmon, pork & potato farl and the cod!

A Michelin-nominated restaurant hidden behind an unremarkable glass door near the premier shopping district of Grafton Street. Made a reservation a day in advance for an early dinner starting 5:30 pm. Had to climb up some stairs to get to the dinning rooms at second and third floor. Environment: wooden stairs, floors and railings, ambient and slightly dim lighting, simplicity style chairs and floors, a relaxing vibe. Service: friendly and attentive. Good recommendation of dishes. Drink: Galway Hooker Irish Pale Ale. Pleasant aroma of yeast and hop on the nose, crispy , slightly bitter hit on the tongue followed by bitter-sweet kickback of orange peels. Nice. Starter: cured trout. Trout was cured to slightly salty skin with tender, juicy flesh, texture is quite smiliar to pan-seared Ahi Tuna served in other restaurants, but with a more refreshing briney taste and less fattiness. The sauce is a bit too sweet for my taste, although it did help reduce the saltiness of the skin. Garnish include soybeans, crispy peanuts, melons, sliced apple, and fish eggs. All tasted good individually, but together they seem to lhave rather conflicting tastes and lack a common theme. I wish the garnish could serve a coherent purpose. Entree: cod with house sauce. The moment I cut into the cod fillet, I know it is going to be good. Crispy outside, flakes of flesh still intact and could be easily peeled off, tender, buttery, savory taste. The sauce was a slightly sweet and sour sauce, working much better than the sauce in the cured trout, adding a bit more fun and complexity to the taste. Garnish, however, again seems to be overly complicated. An assortment of mushrooms, sweet plums and shallots (or maybe green onions), the taste is again pointing towards all directions. In particular, mushrooms do have their own savory and wild flavor, but it was watered down by the sauce that worked so well with the fish. For me, a simple, coherent garnish that elevates the taste of the fish would do. Dessert: chocolate pot with crushed hazelnut and passion fruit puree. Chocolate was melted nicely, tasted thick and rich, working magig with the crushed hazelnut. Passion fruit adds a stimulat vinegar flavor to the pot. Nice. Overall: 4 stars. Using a higher bar since this is a Michelin-mentioned restaurant. All the main stars of the dish are solid, but could use a bit more thoughts on consistency, and a little less work on the sauce and garnish.

I arrived early so I was able to grab a great seat by the window. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and had Christmas music going in November. I ordered the shepherds pie, mushroom starter, and the bread pudding. The mushroom starter was phenomenal and the shepherds pie had great flavor. The service was friendly. The only downside is that the men's restroom was located at the top floor, so a lot of stairs.

The pigs ear was a good, but not great restaurant. Th service was solid and the food all tasted pretty good and was cooked with precision. The wine was a bit of a rip off. Not a bad meal, by probably the most mediocre in all. Very expensive for what was delivered.

The terrine is perfect

Perfect for a treat meal. Excellent food and service. It was our 3rd time here and it's excellent every time..my favourite restaurant in Dublin

The Pig's Ear earned a Michelin Star in 2009, a cozy candle lit dinning room offers remarkable views. Very warm and inviting. To start, the in house baked brown and white breads were absolutley wonderful, warm, soft and moist with fresh creamy Irish butter, just heavenly. I tried the lamb pie, potatoes leak soup, Cod and cheese cake in a jar. A very good wine selection I must add. Overall my experience was great; the staff was attentive and very personable over all an A+

Made a reservation for the Pig's Ear before our trip after reading glowing reviews about it and after perusing the menu and drooling over every item listed. I am so glad I did! It was a little tricky to actually get to the dining floor as I think there was a wedding rehearsal dinner on the upper floor and people thought we were with them. After sorting it out we were taken to a lovely dining room with big windows overlooking Trinity College. Dining was 'cozy' but no so much that we felt like our table neighbors were eavesdropping on our conversation. ;) The first thing we tried that blew both myself and my friend away was the Irish Soda Bread. Holy smokes, hands-down the BEST I've ever had! We were so impressed that we had to ask if they happen to share the recipe which to our surprise, it's so popular that they actually sell a mix! We, of course, bought two to take home. There were so many things on the menu that we wanted but narrowed it down to the pea soup, the roast carrots appetizer and then I ordered the lamb while my friend ordered the Jerusalem artichoke salad. Surprisingly, our favorite dish was the carrots! I never knew carrots could be prepared in such a delicious way with a decadent creamy cheese, some crispy fried sourdough and garnished with some lovely dried marigolds. This is a MUST order here folks! My lamb was also divine and prepared perfectly with nary a hint of gaminess. The only item we found a tad bit disappointing was the soup, which while not terrible just didn't seem up to par with the rest of the food. It was definitely lacking in seasoning or some additional flavor. Service was great although there was a slight error with the soup timing but they corrected it immediately. All in all, I have to say The Pigs Ear was one of my favorite places we ate at in Dublin and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone visiting the City. .

Pigs ear in Dublin was absolutely fantastic. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly. The ambiance and atheistic was really comfortable, cozy and cute. Most importantly though the food was insanely AMAZING. Honestly, I think the desert was the best dessert I've ever eaten anywhere in my life. It was so creative and good. I can't recall the name of it but it was a delicious layered dessert with cake, meringue, custard, sorbet and fresh strawberries. The layer with the meringue was especially delicious and just made the dessert feel very interesting and special. The lamb Shephard's pie was by far the best Shephard's pie I've ever eaten. It had so much flavor and the whipped mash potatoes on top were perfectly golden brown and so beautiful looking. Also honorable mention is the bread basket with the logo because it was so cute and I love small well thought through details like these, they really add to the overall experience for me. Make sure to make a reservation in advance as I'm sure this will book up quickly! We booked about 3 weeks in advance so be sure to plan ahead.

We didn't go to the third floor, but I can imagine it was equally lovely. They've got an impressive wine list and a moderate beer list that's predominantly bottle. Interestingly they don't have spirits so the mixed drinks are wine cocktails - boss! I tried a white port and tonic drink - seriously next level! I don't often find wine cocktails and even more rarely are they really good! The menu is impressive and seasonal, save the potted crab and haddock, which are on all the time. It should be know for any who dine with our crew, that we share a lot, so everything we had was enjoyed by all 5 of us. The crab was unbelievable! Creamy, flavorful, magical. The beef cheek and fish plate were also perfect for sharing. We also had two scotch eggs - these could have a Klondike bar (look it up youngins!) like marketing campaign! We shared the Haddock and the Pigs on Green Port Tenderloin. Both were awesome, with the Haddock more memorable. We haven't had such delicious mashed fish since Iceland and the cheddar mash and onions were the perfect accoutrement! The chocolate fondant was delicious and the bread and butter bread pudding was life changing. The whiskey sauce is something I'd swim in if given the chance! It was lick the plate good. The service was spot on and we got out of there for about €50 a person, full and happy! The whole evening was excellent and this place definitely deserves the accolades. If you're in the area, you should check it out!

Our server walked us through this experience with ease and we all couldn't be happier with our time here, especially for a Sunday afternoon when it could have been a lot louder and chaotic.

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it's nights like this that instill in you a pride in being Irish, and a pride in our past, present and future. Honestly there were some parts that gave me goosebumps, the type I get every now and again when I'm wandering around the city and realise that after eight years away, I can honestly say there is no place in the world I would rather live right now. It's hard to decide what the highlight is. I won't go into massive detail as those before have, but allow me to point out the bones of what makes this into such a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday; - The setting. Old Georgian wooden stairs that are worn down in the middle by hundreds of years of stepping on them, the old crumbling cornicing, the candle lit old antique tables. - The food. Each course was a perfect size, and the perfect representation of modern x traditional Irish cuisine. Quality ingredients, beautifully presented - The talks in between courses by food historian Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire. Funny, informative, nostalgic, and funny again. If you didn't pick up on it already, I would highly recommend this as a night out. For any age, those who live here and are visiting, those who grew up here and those that are now making Ireland their home.

Kind of like if your Mum went to a class to learn how to plate her Sunday meals in a nice way? I really enjoyed the food and only the main needed more sauce but they happily delivered us some. Yum. What a fabulous evening, this was a beautiful way to experience Dublin in all its glory.

Neither of us had tried sticky toffee pudding before, so we ordered that for dessert. I'm glad we shared - it's VERY sweet. But we enjoyed it anyway. Highly recommend everyone flock this place now it's reopened. Quick note: the restaurant is upstairs, so the sign is pretty small and discreet, but they also had an A-frame out front when we were there.
