We came here for an office dinner. Very hip and fun atmosphere, can get a bit loud if you are having a conservation. I got the Caesar salad, Hake and cobbler. Salad was good, hake was great and too full for the cobbler. Two stars down bc of the service. Servers were a little condescending and rude. Great place for dinner before the theater! Just a few minutes walk to see the show so it was a perfect place. We went early 5:30 and walked right in. He hostess was super friendly and seated is right away. I had checked in to Yelp and noticed they had a special offer for a free drink. Since we don't drink alcohol I asked for something with non alcohol and she graciously gave us three lemonades instead! Wow! Dinner we ordered off price fix depending on level. Brasserie Sixty6 has to be my favourite restaurant in Dublin. I get the same dish every time I come here because i love it so much. I always go for the butternut squash risotto. I think it's safe to say this dish is in my top 5 all time favourites all because of the one served in this restaurant. The cocktails are to die for. I always get a white chocolate and passion fruit martini or an amaretto sour. Cocktails are half price on Tuesdays and Sundays! Until they remove these things from the menu, I will still be coming here as often as I get to treat myself or someone else out to a lovely meal! read more

I had a lovely meal here the other day. I received a text message to claim a free main course for my birthday so obviously I wasn't gonna pass up that offer. With a Yelp check I also got a free glass of bubbly but there was two of us so my date got one too. The service was real friendly and prompt at first but we had to wait a good bit at the end to get the bill. The place was buzzing on a Thusday night so it got quite loud and conversation got a bit difficult but that didn't take away from the great food we had. I started with the duck on lentils, it was heavenly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The monkfish on quinoa was my main, absolutely delicious. My man had a pork rotisserie dish with roast potatoes and a hazelnut side salad. The portions was so huge, we took half of it home. Good food, nice evening, solid 4 stars. read more

I went here for dinner recently on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was quite busy. A wedding party arrived just as we did! The restaurant itself is much bigger inside than you would expect from the street and has a lively atmosphere. We were seated straight away by friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is quite large and we struggled to choose what we wanted. We eventually decided on the crunchy veg salad for me and my boyfriend chose the beef rib. While we were waiting on our mains to arrive we were given fresh out of the oven crispy bread that was delish! A really nice touch. Both of our mains were delicious and good size portions. Went here for a business dinner last week and left impressed. Portions are massive! One of our dinner guests had the chicken skewer starter and it was large enough to be a main. Another guest had the rotisserie chicken (apparently the house speciality) and it was simply huge...and she ordered the 1/2 portion! I had the salmon tempura which was nicely presented over a bed of a spicy peanut salad and alongside a side of soya sauce and soba noodles. For desert the apple crumble and hazelnut ice-cream was great. Overall the food is of a high-standard with massive portions. The dining room feels cosy yet trendy---a bit hard to describe. On one mall there is a collection of collectable dining plates, probably several hundred all together, whereas the rest of the place was distinctly dark and modern. Regardless it works. Hello Yelp Check In Offer, thanks Basserie 66 for the complimentary Bellini, goes without saying it makes for a great way to kick off a great meal, with great company. Staff were very friendly, prompt they sorted us straight away... Put towards the back, never knew this place extended so far back and actually as this was all about getting to know a colleague of mine as well as chat and gossip the night away, the quieter area was perfect. Still not forgotten, we had our order taken with service throughout the night attentive. I opted for the fillet steak, cooked as expected all the accompaniments where so tasty, fondant potato was everything it should be soft/fluffy with the spinach and mushrooms adding great flavour. It came with pepper sauce which for me was over seasoned almost salty if I may say so, hold back a little and it would have been perfect. Next on my order was the peanut butter mousse, think snickers ice cream bar and you've got it.... So naughty but so amazingly good :-) Everyone at my table really enjoyed their meals, in fact, the restaurant was chosen by my American colleague who'd been here before and it made a lasting impression she wanted to come back as soon as she visited this summer. I've been to Brasserie Sixty6 on and off for several years now but have recently found that they have been upping their game. They provide lots of different value incentives (early birds, loyalty offers, half price cocktails on certain nights) which would keep you coming back for more. They have a separate vegetarian menu that you can request which is imaginative and good value. They are happy to accommodate any additional requests and I have always found staff to be professional and friendly. On the one occasion that I was unhappy the matter was dealt with very graciously by the manager and as a result I have had no hesitation in returning. Most recently I went for dinner here with my boyfriend, and ordered cocktails (the cocktails here are incredible). We were left waiting for maybe fifteen minutes for them. The waitress arrived over without us asking and apologised for the delay in the drinks arriving. She informed us that they were very busy and gave us each a glass of prosecco to apologise. I thought that this was a very nice touch and feel that it's little details like this that leave you feeling positive about a restaurant. This is the kind of place you can bring a date, your friends, your work colleagues, or your parents, and I think you'd find something to keep everyone happy! read more

I'm putting this here mainly to remind myself to stop falling into the Brasserie Sixty6 trap again. Had breakfast here on Saturday morning: remember the skillet fry will not be as nice as you think it should be, they're scabby with the toast and everything is more expensive than it should be. I asked for more toast and they charged 2.95 for two slices. Yes it looks lovely from the outside, but every time I go I'm disappointed, and yet I forget - the eternal optimist in me thinks I've just ordered the wrong dish. I have ordered many dishes here and have yet to be overwhelmed by anything apart from the price. Note to self: next time just say no and find a greasy spoon place around the corner! read more

Moseyed in here one lunchtime afternoon. The decor was fine, nothing too out there but it was clean and nicely lit. There was one waitress serving who was doing a good job keeping the few of us happy ( I was here v. early so it wasn't busy). The choice of food was fine but plain, I ordered the salmon fishcake with a salad. If you're looking for a lunch/dinner that does what it says then you've come to the right place. I quite enjoyed the lunch and it was a nice portion size but it wasn't anything too exciting. It cost €10 which seemed about right. All said, this is a stellar example of this popular Dublin restaurant's approach to food. Fresh, well cooked and served with that faux-modesty that urges the owners to slap granny plates on the walls. Mostly awesome food, passable service! Came in for a pre show meal with my friend last night and took advantage of the early bird at €25 for 3 courses. I started with crab and advocado mouse, which was ok, but far too heavily flavoured with grapefruit for my taste, and unfortuneately a bit of shell made it into the base - yuck! My main however was awesome. Perfectly cooked hake with baby potato in a light creamy sauce, lovely and the grilled little onions we ordered were excellent! Desert we shared, pecan pie and a peanut mouse, really really fab. And the chocolate ice cream they were served with was fab. Also half price cocktails of a sunday, win! Staff were mostly nice, but we must have had every last one serve us over the course of the meal and despite there being loads on we waited aaagggeeesssss for our bill and 2nd round of drinks. Mmh, so went here with work a couple of years ago and loved it. When I got the chance to chose the venue of an "interview dinner" I decided to go for Brasserie Sixty6. It was quite busy on a Monday evening probably due to the current specials there running on Sundays and Mondays (which also got us a free main course). The service was a mixed experience - while the floor manager did an excellent job with reception, building rapport, taking orders, recommendations and lighten the atmosphere, the regular table staff could have been a it more attentive, we had to wait a couple of times to order more drinks. The cocktails were great, once they arrived and we even got a pair of free ones, that we're made in error, another thumbs up. The food wasn't great, I'm afraid, the starters (meatballs and something else) were quite forgettable and my main (prawns crab mix) was pretty bland. Some reviews don't need a bunch of words. This place made us so happy when we were in Dublin. The service was great and the food memorable (oh and tasty, did I forget that?!) They presented us with a large menu, a set 3 course menu for €33 and they even have a separate vegetarian menu if you're that way inclined ;) I went for the set menu starting with the mozzarella risotto balls, the salmon for main and for dessert, if you don't feel like something sweet you can opt for a cocktail. I chose a cocktail naturally ;) The tasty rossini bellini was delish. That's why I had a second ;) As it was a Saturday, the place was buzzing but the staff were on top of things, attentive and obliging. I've been here a couple of times and I've really enjoyed it. Both times I had no booking and have been taken in with no problem-- though on one occasion following sitting down we heard a few parties get turned away, so booking is a good idea! I've been here for brunch both times, the first as a Valentine's day (can you believe we got in w/o reservation!) and the second most hungover after a usual saturday night in Dublin. I'm pretty sure I had the eggs benedict both times and it's absolutely perfect, with some nice chips to salt up a queasy stomach.There's also a sneaky free proscecco with a Yelp check in, so bear that in mind! Service has always been reasonably quick, can't complain, and generally it's actually really well priced for such a centrally-located spot. The fruit platter at 7 or 8 euro (can't quite recall, was a friend's choice) is a bit saucy, but we'll forgive that. read more

Had recently read in a few places about this place which has been around for 10 years or more & so had to try it: on a busy Saturday without any pre booking we managed to get an early table for dinner. Staff were attentive and friendly. For starters the mackerel salad (unusual one to choose) was really good & the prawn skewers were nice. Mains we had were: 1) the rotisserie pork which was a very big portion - crackling on the outside and stuffing in middle - a tad over cooked for me - but as portion size so big I couldn't eat it all. The baby potatoes were nice and the side salad was really fresh and 2) the duck which was beautiful but again a very big portion and it's side salad also really nice. Highly recommend for a hearty, filling meal and fast and friendly service. Arrived a little after 9pm on a Weds and there was a good crowd but still Plenty of tables. We opted for the 3 course menu for 29,95. Mushroom soup was delicious-quite flavorful, thick and filling. And it felt like it was never ending! The presentation of the food is also so nice. They serve fresh bread with butter at arrival (nice if you are starving!). My friend got a happy birthday text from Brasserie 66 offering her a free main course. Yay for freebies! We decided that I would order from the early bird (3 course at 25 euro) and we would share the starter and dessert. When checking in on the Yelp app, I got an offer for a free prosecco. OH YEAH! They were so kind, and actually also offered my friend a free glass. Before dinner started they provided a huge piece of freshly baked bread for us to cut ourselves and smother in butter. Mmmm! The crab mousse starter was delicious, my main of hake perfectly cooked and the peanut butter mousse so lush, it was quality ! The A la carte menu for Brasserie 66 is ridiculously expensive though. Our fish dishes were around the 28 euro mark. I would only go here for the early bird, or if they have some special offer (they seem to do a lot - and often send me random emails with offers) Also, this restaurant is not intimate, it is buzzy, it is big, it is loud. This place looks quite fancy but is actually reasonably priced and offers good, fuss-free food, like half a chicken and mash, steak and huge salads. Despite being a large restaurant - it goes way back - it is cosy and has a warm atmosphere - sometimes too warm. Sixty Six doesn't seem to have air-conditioning and diners can get a little hot under the collar. A special shout out has to go to the toilets - everyone gets their own little room, complete with sink, hand-drier, and mirror, so you can do yourself up in peace. read more

I went here for Brunch but arrived too late so ordered from the brunch menu. I had the Hummus, taboulleh and tapenade with flatbread and dear lord it was delicious! Ill admit it is a share starter but I ate every last but. So fresh and a really unique taste of vegetarian cuisine for a part time vegetarian. We had cocktails that were really really good. My only compalint would be the portions were TOO BIG which is a good complaint in itself. The only reasoning for the 3 stars as opposed to 5 stars is the variety on the menu which kind of lacks plus there were a couple of things on the menu not available. Water was so nice and gave us vouchers for half price cocktails for our next visit. Overall not a bad little option to try for those of you that havent. read more

Fantastic food! Perfect drinks! This is definitely a nice restaurant with fancy cocktails. The area is open and modern with lite music. It well kept and has a great, friendly staff eager to suggest menu items. They offer price fixe menus as well as a la carte. We had the filet and seabass. Both were elegantly served and cooked nicely. The filet had a garlic flavor with a nice seared taste. The sea bass was pan fried with some herbal flare. The mash was a little chivey but good. Just had an amazing New Year's Eve here! Food, drinks, atmosphere and staff all wonderful! Most of the group ordered from the vegetarian menu because it sounded so good, the risotto was delicious and the tortellini looked great too! I popped in here for brunch after hearing a rave review from some friends and I was really disappointed. I had the brioche French toast and it was gorgeous if there was a lot of it. It comes with lovely warm apple compote and cold creme fraiche, yum yum. Himself had the lemon ricotta pancake and while he seemed to enjoy it I thought it tasted undercooked. Where Brassiere Sixty6 really fell down was on service: 1. Himself ordered a coffee and was given something the size of a big espresso. 2. I ordered a water that never appeared. 3. We were left standing for ages at the front door waiting to be seated while at least 4 staff members stood in the back doing very little. 4. The table beside us ordered toast which came with no butter and when they asked for butter the server brought them water. 5. Our bill had two coffees on it, one large and one small (oh so they do come in different sizes, shame you never said so) and when I asked the server to change it she looked at me like I was trying to scam her. 6. From the reviews and photos I thought this place was going to blow me away, but sadly it didn't. The staff were fine, the restaurant was quiet and spacious but the food was just ... OK? For the price both my friend and I agreed it wasn't worth it and there are so many other amazing restaurants in Dublin to spend in. I got the chicken (slab of half a chicken not unlike nandos, a piece of root veg beside it and a little bowl of potatoes) and my friend got the steak with a bowl of chips. At this trendy brasserie, the food is stellar, but the service is only so-so. My dinner date and I decided to check out this place during "Dine in Dublin Week." As a starter, I had the chicken skewers served with guacamole, pita bread, and coleslaw. I ordered it mainly out of intrigue and was delighted with the unique flavor combination. For a main, I had the steak with hollandaise sauce -- the steak was cooked perfectly and well, you can never go wrong with hollandaise sauce in my book. At this point, I was stuffed to the brim, but I somehow made room for the chocolate brownie with ice cream and creme fraiche. The service was another story entirely. We had to wait an excessively long time in between courses. In all seriousness, I think we were there for three hours! There was an especially long pause between mains and dessert -- my date and I thought they had forgotten about us! The staff seemed very inconvenienced whenever we asked for anything, and we had to ask for water twice before getting any! read more

It is a bit on the expensive side, however the portions are very generous and my eggs benedict were fantastic. Two perfectly poached eggs with a lovely hollandaise sauce, on absolutely delicious sourdough bread with bacon and ham, accompanied by a tasty portion of homefries. If I could make one complaint/suggestion it would be that it's almost too much food and it didn't really need the addition of the ham. I'd have been happy with just bacon. The coffee was good I was told by my companions. The teapot could have been a little bigger, but hey, that's a small gripe. One companion had eggs benedict also and was as happy as I was with their choice. One companion had the American style pancakes with chocolate sauce, they looked amazing, I was just too full to try them. They were apparently delicious. One of my other companions got an extremely generous portion of French toast which looked pretty good too. The service by the way was excellent. Pleasant, and efficient. I'd definitely go back for the brunch, I'd even reconsider my decision not to go there again for dinner, and give them a second chance based on this experience of their food. read more
