When on a suggestion by a friend. I went on a Friday and they had a DJ but were advertising for a live band that was to be there on Saturday. I was honestly surprised when I walked in. It's a huge open bar, dance floor, with multiple TVs, pool, darts, OTB, a indoor smoking section (that doesn't make the whole place smell like cigarette smoke), and a salsa dancing room up stairs. I too was at New Years Eve party. Arrived about 8pm to take advantage of "open bar". Man with checkered sport coat at door must be the Asshole people are complaining about. Very rude. Couldn't find my name on Will Call list. Throw clip board at another employee to find my name. Gentleman in red sport coat was much more helpful. Very apologetic. Anyway, "open bar" consisted of low quality seltzers. No beer, wine, pop or water. Only available if you paid for them. Pizza Buffett was good though. Crowded. Limited seats, though behind a fenced off area found stacks of tables and chairs. Helped ourselves so we could sit. There wasn't 8 DJ's in 3 rooms. Only 1 band. 1 DJ came out after band ended around 11ish. Online advertised Whisky Hill pints for $5. Not only were they not $5 but $5.50 but we're only 12 ounces not 16. The 10k "money cannons " at midnight were dollar bills. Maybe 50 were fired out. Yes the fire alarms were going off around midnight. Nobody did anything. Bathroom was filthy. Garbages overflowing. A place with lot of potential. Its huge. We sat by the bar and it felt great with all the huge TVs in front. I really want to give 5 stars for the bar area with TVs etc. But some of the other things could have been better. I wish the menu card looked better (was really old). Also wish there was a drinks menu. The individual plates we got were paper plates. I agree its a sports bar and casual but paper plates threw me off a little. Went for the Bears game... the TVs and DJ was great. The service was slow and not very helpful or knowledgeable. Food was okay. The chips and salsa was the best thing on the menu. We were not aware call the piazza until our son wanted to stop there for his birthday and watch some of the NFL playoff games. The place is very large, and seems to be a great place to watch a football or hockey game, which we tend to do. During the playoff games the place was not overly crowded, but it seemed like the service was very slow although I waitress was very friendly. Its seem to take a long time for our drink orders to arrive. When we order the appetizers they arrived in A decent amount of time, but we were not given any plates, silverware or napkins. We had to go to the waitress station and get them ourselves. After ordering the entrees, they took a little bit longer to come to the table and they came at different times so Some of the people in our group started eating before the rest of us. One of our entrees a hamburger never showed up And we had to go back to the waitress station to get silverware and napkins. The food was just average with ordering a variety of different foods the hamburger was probably the best choice, and the wings were not badd either. The pizza was a little store bought tasting. I visited the piazza less night for a concert the waitress insisted I give her a credit card to hold. When I asked why if I'm paying cash she said that's the policy. At the end of the night I paid my tab in cash. The waitress never returned my credit card. On Sunday I had to drive for 45 minutes to go pick up my credit card i got to the piazza and they could not find my card I said why she had it in her holder I saw it. He said its not here. I said why is she taking a customers credit card home. He said well call you when we find it. I said so you want me to drive another 45 minutes here and to pick it up. He said it happens. I said she should not take it home you should call her get her to come in now with the card. He said I'm not doing that it was a late night. I am currently here, and this place has just gone down hill since being bought. Food is terrible, order nachos that came out like soup because of the chili. The pizza tastes nothing like the original Salernos. But, the worst part of this place is the service now, extremely understaffed and unorganized. I really thought when they got new owners this place would improve. I have been doing sand volleyball here for the past 6 years and the renovation outside looks amazing but the service is still just awful. This past Sunday we had friends bring their kids who were so excited for pizza. We sat at our table for 30 minutes and the server never even looked in our direction. I ended up going to the bar and ordering food and carry everything back myself. We played 3 full games and when we were finished the girl still had never once acknowledged our table. Their was only 1 server for the entire outdoor area during volleyball which is not nearly enough but regardless she wasn't even trying. I watched her walk slowly to each table and never even saw her talk to other tables. The table next to us said the same thing and went to the bar for their food and drinks too. She missed out on so much money in tips. I have been a server in multiple bars and have had nights where you're short staffed and it's crazy busy and you hustle your butt off. This girl could care less. The reason it gets even 2 stars is we love playing volleyball and the the food is really good when you actually can order it. I hope they hire some better staff and put more servers outside when it's busy. read more

There is construction going on in different pockets of the building. How about finishing one project before moving to the next. They built a large stage, had one good act and then nothing else. We were there 1/25 with sister-in-law and brother in law. Brother-in-law was meeting a group of friends who were already at a table. Place is huge, we were there early afternoon. Waitress came to table fairly quickly after we sat down for our drink orders. Drinks came quickly, one mini mistake and she corrected it immediately. Waitress came around often to check on table. The 4 of us deciding to split a pizza, different things on different sides. Didn't take long to get piping hot Salernos's pizza. Tasted just as good, if not better, than the St. Charles restaurant we've been going to for decades. One item was omitted from one side. Waitress said she'd check on it. She came back to table and said they were making us another pizza right away. Second pizza was delivered by manager, Steve. Wonderfully friendly. Said there would be no charge for first OR second pizza! What a surprise. Hardly ever see that anymore. Steve was funny, and happy to make things right. We appreciated his business generosity. total shit hole. we were charged $5 cover each at 9pm, the band wasn't scheduled to begin until 945 or later, and there were children in the bar. when I asked why i was charged cover for no band and early enough that children were still present, i was told "we are a restaurant and children can be here all night with their parents." well, i've never had to pay cover to go a restaurant before, and wasn't about to start now. and i've worked in the industry in the past and children are NOT allowed in bars past certain hours, even with parents. "if you leave before the band, we will refund your cover" damn right i left before the band. we were hungry and my friend had ordered food and at 45 minutes later he still hadn't received it and we saw mice running across the floor. cancel that, i'm out. wouldn't ever go back. hesitated to go in the first place since Foundry sucked so bad, but we were meeting friends and it's what they picked based on being able to have a large table/area for a big group. read more
