Soy sauce chicken broken rice plate
Sarah C.

My husband and I came here for dinner while on a baby moon in the Woodlands. Although it was in the 90s outside (Houston summers), the restaurant was cooled perfectly enough to order soup. We started off with the pho dip as an appetizer and it was pretty solid. Only issue is the meat was chewy. The dipping broth was great and the bread was nice and soft. My husband had the beef stew and loved it and I ordered the soy sauce chicken broken rice. The egg pancake that the broken rice came with was phenomenal! I will try to order it at every viet restaurant I go to from now on!! I'd definitely come back here in the future. The service was pretty good considering it was our server's second shift too. She was very kind and attentive. The interior was very clean and modern and had lots of greenery.

I enjoyed Pho prime I got to taste some of their offerings at a Yelp event and had to make my way into the restaurant to try their pho and bahn mi. I ordered the egg rolls and the shrimp pancakes to start. The egg rolls were really good but the shrimp pancake was not my favorite. The egg was sunken in and didn't really have any flavor. It was also a bit soggy. The pho was very good. The broth had a great flavor to it. I also came back the next day and ordered the beef bahn mi. Overall it was pretty good, the beef was a bit chewy but I would definitely give the pork a try next time.

2. Pho Gau (Fatty Brisket) Large

Friendly crew, decent service, and a real large pho bowl - not that "we added two noodles, now it's large" scam. Noodles were softer than my will to work overtime, but the chili oil saved the day. The peanut sauce though... needed more gym time, less water. Clean, modern vibe and no "am I catching food poisoning or enlightenment?" energy. Hidden gem. I'll be back, chopsticks locked and loaded...

Banh Mi Dac Biet (Combination)
Michelle O.

All the ingredients in the Bahn mi dac biet ($9 plus tax=$9.74) were thinly sliced, so visually it looked a little different from other places. The pickled daikon and carrots looked a little too translucent, which made me think they wouldn't hold much flavor, which was true. The meats tasted fine on their own. Instead of getting layers of different texture and flavors though, the flavors kind of blended together. I think the plastic packaging is really wasteful, especially when you think of how the typical wrapping is a few sheets of paper and a rubber band or another paper bag. If you want to present it in a box, I suggest a paper tray or box.

What a hidden gem tucked away in the Woodlands area. Although there are a plethora of amazing Pho restaurants in Houston, finding a decent one way up north here can be challenging. The Pho Fix is definitely the fix for that. The menu consists of the typical Vietnamese noodle varieties you will find in most Vietnamese restaurants ranging from dry to soup noodles. The main difference is that you can customize your own bowl from scratch. There is almost a Chipotle/Cava element by allowing this option and it is amazing. Of course, I ordered a very typical combination Pho bowl to go. The takeaway packaging is extremely well thought out. The soup will leave the store piping hot and toppings are mostly individually bagged to not cause any cross-contamination (beef is raw). They also provide all the condiments you will need. When assembling at home, I found that the Pho looks no different than eating at the restaurant. The beef broth is extremely clean and beefy. The meat topping is high quality and the herbs and vegetables are generously provided. Overall, the experience was positive. While the pho did not blow me away, it will satisfy anyone's craving for a hot bowl of pho.

Decent food. Great service. Still a bit generic. The interior is nice and it was just me and one other table. Food is made to order so that's a plus. It takes a little longer. Never got my chicken broth that was to accompany my meal so loss of star. It was not necessary.

The Pho Dip
Brett N.

Why 4 stars? Because a pho dip is a great way to combine the best of both worlds. --- --- --- When I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, my go-to is banh mi. I am obviously always tempted by pho too, but because I have spent most of my life living in Houston or Florida, we don't have many cold days, and pho is about 10x more appealing when it's cold outside. The Pho Dip was the perfect meshing of these two worlds: a banh mi with a very small bowl of pho for dipping. And when I was done with the sandwich, I was happy to slurp up every drop of that delicious pho. The only thing holding this back from a 5-star experience is that the banh mi itself was just... fine, but I have had better. The bread was excellent, but between the bread left a bit to be desired. It was still enjoyable though, and we came here!

I loved my experience here! Shout out to Ania for making my experience a great one! This isn't your typical pho restaurant where you sit and order from a menu. You order as soon as you walk in and you get to SEE them make your order, which is amazing! I was a little scared because I didn't think the broth would taste good but when I tell yall I BARELY had to doctor it up for taste. The broth is SO GOOD and the decorations in the restaurant are so hip and calming. If I'm ever in the woodlands area again I'm most definitely stopping by!

I was happy to get a booth dining alone. There were a few customers there but it was not super busy. It was a clean and calm environment. I ordered the spring rolls and beef Pho. The spring tops were fresh and crispy just the way I like it. Although it was fried it wasn't greasy. My large Pho came out and it had nice flavor on its own. I asked for some chilli oil and the waitress promptly bought some out. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I had to take more than half to go. It's a win for me because I love left over Pho! I will say my entire dining experience was excellent. The price aligned with the quality food and service. I will definitely be back.

Searching for a banh mi sandwich with tofu for a quick lunch takeout, I was pleased to see that the restaurant was close to interstate 45 for a quick stop on the way back to Houston (timing is everything to beat the traffic in this area - IYKYK). I ended up ordering both the tofu vermicelli and a tofu banh mi because obviously, you need to try more than one thing. It was fine. Out of the two dishes, the vermicelli was my favorite. It came with a generous portion of noodles, a small lettuce and shredded carrot salad, several large wedges of tofu in a kind of curry sauce, and the classic vermicelli sauce to drizzle over the whole dish. The flavor was good, although what I would consider a slight deviation from traditional flavors, and overall filling. Vermicelli is always a dependable choice and I was satisfied with this dish. The tofu banh mi, however was nothing special. I prefer the bread to be a bit more crispy on the outside with a soft interior and this one was fairly soft all over. Inside, the tofu really needed more seasoning, seemingly cooked without any added flavors except for the fried finish. I added some hoisin sauce but still it needed something more. I'm always eager to try new places but not sure that this one will be a repeat for me.

The meat tasted like it had been sitting for a while and then reheated it was rubbery, tough, and had that old, off flavor. The broth was also a huge letdown. Pho is supposed to be rich, aromatic, and full of depth, but this one had almost no flavor at all. I even asked ahead of time if the soup would include cartilage, which is usually part of a proper pho, and was told yes, but it wasn't there. What really concerned me was finding fruit flies in the soup. That raised serious questions about cleanliness and food handling, especially if soups are being left uncovered. One thing that also stood out was that, although this is presented as a Vietnamese restaurant, the kitchen staff did not appear to be Vietnamese. While anyone can cook any cuisine, authenticity and attention to traditional flavors really matter, and based on the taste of the food, that authenticity seemed to be missing. When the bill came, I calmly explained everything, expecting at least some acknowledgment or effort to make it right, but nothing meaningful was done. Between the poor food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the lack of response from staff, this was a very disappointing experience and I wouldn't return.

Classy piano music playing in the background like an old 40's film. My first observation was that the chargrilled pork bahn mi was light. No heft. I think they use a Kroger type hoagie roll too. Had the look, feel and taste of one. Not the good bahn mi bread that a traditional Vietnamese store would use. Sadly there was not much meat in the bun either. For $11 after tax and tip, that's just really disappointing. If you read their history on Yelp (by owner "Sergio M" - doesn't sound very Vietnamese) it talks about a family owned and operated shop. But I didn't see any Asian workers there at all anywhere. Nada. I even saw cooks in back and they were Mexican.

On a weeknight, there isn't much of a crowd and really just 1 other table of customers. I was able to pick pretty much anywhere to sit. The menu is pretty extensive and has all of the vietnamese basics for a noodle shop. I tried the House Special Fried Shrimp Cake and Fried Egg Rolls as an appetizer, and a small fatty brisket and fatty flank steak bowl of pho. Prices are average id say for this type of food and certainly much less than the nearly $18 bowl of pho I had about 6 miles away last week. The soup broth is very similar to their other location, which was pretty good. It isn't the best bowl of soup in the Houston area, but it surely does the job if you're craving a bowl of pho. The egg rolls are pretty standard, I just wish they gave you more lettuce as the amount provided only is enough for 2 of the 4 egg rolls. The shrimp cake is something I've never tried but just made with sheet tofu and shrimp paste. It's pretty good if you like that texture. You eat them the same way as the egg rolls wrapped in lettuce and add the veggies. Again, the amount of lettuce provided is only enough for 2 of the 4 cakes. The ambiance is nice and they were playing a mix of modern pop and dance music in the dining area.

In a place like Houston, where you can get authentic Vietnamese food, this can be a luck draw if the fusion pays off. However, when I tried the food, it was a very flavorful and worth every cent I spent. Everything was very tasty. The wings were flavorful and crisp. It had a combination of crispy skin seasoned with a rich sauce. The meat was also moist. For a party of two, it was also very shareable because they gave six pieces -both drums and wings. I will say that you really gotta to get in there get your hands and face dirty though! (They did provide a hand wipe!) For the main dishes, the won tonic soup was very flavorful with sweet-and-sour elements with egg noodles that soaked up all this good flavor. The wontons inside were very standard. And the onion was added to provide some balance. Everything was very hardy and filling. My friend had gotten the vermicelli. Which came with crunchy egg rolls, shredded veggies, noodles, and shrimp topped with a fish sauce. It felt very light and refreshing with a balance of textures and savory elements'. Highly recommend as the number one and two selling dishes - it would just depend on if you're in a soup or dry noodle sort of mood. Service was overall fast and friendly. You have to pay by going to the counter. We had a newer waiter though, and it took him a long time to get our orders correctly and he had to get some help. Hopefully they're doing well, but overall, it's a very cute Homie little establishment. Seating fits around 30 around booths and tables.
