However, their food is so amazing I'm sure everyone who has been there will have become a regular. So far we've had the chicken - tenders, sandwiches and with waffles - and the baklava, and everything has been absolutely delicious. The chicken is tender and juicy, the batter is tasty, the sides are well prepared, the portions are plentiful, the price is very reasonable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A wonderful addition to a pretty great menu of restaurants and cafes in Port Perry. All we need now is an excellent Roti Shop!

It has been popular among locals since they opened in 2008. The prices are quite reasonable at $3 for 1 scoop and $4 for 2 scoops. Even banana splits are only $5. All prices include taxes! We had a 2-scoop cone: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Pralines & Cream. Both scoops were creamy and tasty. My son really loved them but I did manage to get a little bit of both flavours. There is some savoury food served too like hot dogs, fries, poutine, and coffees. It is owned by a husband and wife team: George and Irene. Both are very pleasant people. They love having fun signs such as: "adults must be accompanied by children" and "children left unattended in this store will be sold to the circus". You can only pay by cash or e-transfer. There is no phone number because I can see they are extremely busy. You can still contact them via social media. There are picnic tables outside. During pandemic times, all staff and customers wear face masks and there is plexiglass used. Only one family is allowed in the small order area at a time. Just outside the entrance, you can be entertained by a famous saxaphone player, Orlando (a Cuban), during nice the afternoons. Today (2021-09-05), we were lucky to also have a guest keyboardist also from Cuba. There is no free WiFi. It is wheelchair  accessible. You can use a washroom by request. The ice cream sold here is Kawartha Dairy, so that bit is pretty standard. But the servings are pretty big & a single is only $3 and a double $4, including tax. So it's cheaper than going to a Kawartha outlet They only accept cash & etransfer. The guy is pretty friendly, though there were some ice crystals in the ice cream.

The festival is right next door to the general store. I had a fantastic time picking up shortbread, sugar cookies, and butter tarts. Some of my highlights from the festival include the following - Vegan chocolate chip shortbread by Eat By Shortbread (accepts credit cards) - Cute starfish and cloud sugar cookies by Brianna's Sweet Treats - Raspberry coconut butter tarts sold at Enniskillen General Store The raspberry coconut butter tarts are amazing! If you are a coconut fan who loves a yummy raspberry filling that has the right balance of tartness and sweetness, this tart is for you. It is incredibly delicious and fresh. I was devastated when I couldn't remember the business that makes these tarts. I contacted Enniskillen General Store on Facebook and got a quick response. The store sell these tarts year-round. Yay! I went into the store and it sells Kawartha ice cream, which is my favourite ice cream ever. I didn't get any, but I will next time I am there, along with stocking up on more butter tarts. It's a wonderful area. It did get busy during the Butter Tart Festival. I parked on the side of the road and got my exercise walking over to butter tart heaven.
