After a long day at the beach, what better way to cool off then with ice cream! Located just north of Cobourg Beach sits a cute litte shop called Harbourlights Delights. From past experiences, I find most places that are directly near a tourist area tends to be lacking as the they don't worry too much about repeat customers, but glad to say that Harbourlights Delights really is a great ice cream dessert store to check out. What caught our attention was that they had a sign saying 24+ flavours of soft serve ice cream! Never seen a place have so many flavours of soft serve before so decided to check it out. Not only do they have soft serve but also hard serve ice cream as well as other desserts such as funnel cakes! Both the soft serve and hard serve ice cream were really good. I have to say flavours were very good and the portions were actually very generous for a tourist location. This is a great little shop that we would be more then willing to come back for when we are in the area. 4/5!

We were in Cobourg for the day just checking out the water front festival and the town itself since I'm pretty into tiny little towns. We got pulled in by the big sign in the front advertising 24 different soft serve flavours (we really wanted to try raspberry and rum) but they do sell hard icecream, frozen yoghurt and funnel cakes in addition to some other stuff. Unfortunately raspberry was out I guess so I went with Strawberry and my companion with Rum. Prices are pretty decent (0.75 for infant size up to I believe like 4 bucks for a large). The soft serve is super fresh, you can taste the milk in the icecream and the flavour blended into it really well. The concept is similar to flavoured frozen yogurt I guess but this is still most definitely soft serve. We did go during a weekend where there was a huge event and large crowd's so odds are the lineup out the door was due to that but the wait was negligible and the workers were moving it along fast.

Comparing it to most other ice cream places, it has an abundance of choices and extremely generous portions. The girl who served us told me a small is two scoops, which is more than enough for one person. I may be wrong, but I think they give you a pint or close to it in one small serving. And the selections deliver an explosion of flavour. I had the sherbet, which was refreshing with its lemon and lime profile contrasted by raspberry... And the experience when you sit inside is quaint and fits the small-town vibe that Cobourg gives off-- I liked the Muskoka chairs.

I really liked that they had a display of merch that was Kawartha dairy branded and also had a lot of Canadian products as well. they also have a refrigerator and freezer section of Kawartha lakes creams, milks, and ice cream flavours. The staff were so kind and friendly, they were happy to offer me samples of a few flavors before I decided. The portion sizes are very generous here. I decided to go with the baby scoop and it was so large that I could hardly finish it. so the value for money is also really great here.
