We've been through Belleville many times, but decided to stop in at Reid's Dairy on our last visit. Although we were recommended to try their milkshakes, it was a less-sugar content ice cream cone that I really wanted. Oh man, did this hit the spot! Likely the flavours I requested had natural sugars in them, but with no sugar added, these were a hit (maple and strawberry). I chose a waffle cone as an extra treat. Service was quick enough (it wasn't that busy). It's a HUGE space! Very dairy-looking, with some seating. They've got some of their historic photos on the walls; Pierre Trudeau visiting once... Reid's has been around for a while. I'd like to know what this place is like in the summer. We'll try it out... I would definitely go back! read more

So I've had Reed's dairy in the tub before but when I arrive to Belleville and saw that the manufacturer was here I got so excited. during my stay I've already stopped by three times. The ice cream tastes absolutely delicious, I'm not down playing this, it literally taste like it was handcrafted with love. There always seems to be a lengthy lineup but it passes pretty quickly, and it honestly gives you an opportunity to figure out what flavour you want to put together since there are a million options. I ordered a tornado, which is kind of like a blizzard if we're comparing it, but so much more delicious. For the tornado you have the option of getting soft serve ice cream, there are so many flavours to choose from, and then a ton of toppings to choose from to put inside and then they will blend that up for you. if you decide to get hard ice cream from the tub, they will also add pretty much any flavour to that as well. Before coming to Belleville, I had bookmarked Reid's Dairy Company. I love ice cream and wanted to give it a try. After having checked in to my hotel, I was off to fetch some dinner and saw a castle. I knew that it was Reid's and had to return. It was pouring rain. It didn't stop me from visiting it. I parked in the lot, took out my umbrella, and stood in front of the store, taking photos. I realized at that moment that I will do anything to get a photo. Everyone else dashed out of their cars and minivans to seek shelter inside and I looked like a crazy woman who is obviously not a local. There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit down. It was the first thing that I saw walking into the store. There were perhaps three people ahead of me in the lineup. I looked at the drinks that I could purchase, as well as the hard and soft ice creams on the menu. As soon as a saw the soft-serve twist cones on the menu, I knew that I wanted one. I got a medium. The young woman at the counter was nice. I placed my order and used a credit card to pay $3.14 (pi!). A minute later, she handed me my twist cone. I walked back to my car, carefully holding it under my umbrella as the rain came down hard. I decided to kill two birds with one stone by eating my twist cone in my car while waiting for the rain to subside. The medium size is huge! The twist looked picture-perfect. It was beautiful. The ice cream is super creamy and thick. My favourite ice cream is Kawartha. I need to add Reid's to the list. Yum! Reid's is known for its $1 milkshakes. I need to return and try one. It's fun coming to this store. You can press a button under a fun cool cow with sunglasses and hear it moo. There are lots of dairy products that you can buy, including milk and cream. You can get Reid's ice cream and take it home. I was happy to see butter tarts in the store, too. I was in heaven. It was a moo-ving ice cream experience. I just could not believe my eyes when the cashier gave me my order. It just looked surreal! So perfect.. all like a dream or it is really edible? I can assure that it was so good. The texture so creamy and smooth and dense. Made with real cream and I really don't care about the fat content. But it suppose to be good for me with all the goodness from the fresh milk/cream. You can eat in and watch Bug Bunny/Tom and Jerry on TV or getting it from the drive thru and have it to go. And even have a Birthday Party serving ice cream only :). Reid's Dairy is a must when coming to Belleville. Since it was such a beautiful day out we couldn't pass up an opportunity to eat ice cream. The Tornado's, ice cream and milkshakes are so cheap and you get a lot for what you pay for. I ordered a small cookie dough Tornado and I couldn't even finish it, that small at Reid's Dairy would've been considered a large at Dairy Queen. The only complaint I had about my experience was that there was a hair in my tornado (yuck?) but seeing as all the workers did wear their hair nets, I decided to ignore it. Besides, accidents do happen and it won't stop me from coming back here again next time I'm in Belleville ! read more

Terrible experience. Walked in w/family and immediately upon setting foot in store a young girl yells at us that if we're not on same bill only one can stay in. I understand there are protocols in place but even while working at a major hospital in Toronto I have never encountered such restrictions or even meat-market-style yelling. We were at Slickers the day before and the kids were allowed to actually SEE the ice cream before choosing it. I'll just go there next time and avoid the hassle. Love, love, love the chocolate soft serve here! I might be biased because I'm a local but I honestly drive across town for their icecream when I live on the same block as Dairy Queen lol. The soft serve is usually always creamy and for the chocolate the odd day I go in and they've just cleaned the machines it has extra chocolate flavor because of the chocolate granules not mixed thoroughly yet. This summer they had a soft serve banana and strawberry flavors, but I'm not sure if they still have them since the chocolate or chocolate+vanilla twist is where my heart is always at lol. FYI tho unless you're super hungry or want to share the large is HuGe!!! It's literally half the size of my face depending on the server lol. The other icecream picture is of their new-ish Donut flavor and it's just as good. It's cake battered flavored icecream with white frosting ripple + sprinkles and donut dough pieces. Its kind of sounds weird but it's fricking a~m~a~z~i~n~g!!!! They also have 1$ small milkshakes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cappuccino, butterscotch and orange. You can even ask to mix em up. I am a woman And in today's climate Safety has become a concern for a lot of women. I had sold something on Facebook marketplace and I called Reid's dairy to ask if I could use their business as a meeting point. They were more than kind. They not only said yes that was a good idea but that if I had any problems at all even the slightest little problem to come in and they would be more than willing to help me out. They informed me as well that there were cameras on the outside of Reid's dairy and it was probably one of the safest places in Belleville. I will always shop at Reid's dairy just based on the quality of their products. That's some delicious soft-serve as this place. Came in for a medium soft cone of chocolate and vanilla swirl. But wow they have so much more with 12 flavors of ice cream, all various levels of milk, milkshakes and anything else made with milk. The soft serve was rich and creamy.
