We've come here three times now during our stay in Prince Edward County (my mom and step dad rented a cottage in nearby Cherry Valley for the month of July). I've tried their iced decaf Americanos (hit the spot) and on the most recent visit, their peanut butter confetti bar (which was delicious). They also have a Gelato counter, with lots of tasty looking flavours, baked goods, a small menu of mostly sandwiches, and a curated selection of food stuffs. Perhaps, what they are most known for is their bakery selling fresh apple pies, apple bread, cider, fritters and variety of seasonal baked goods. There is also an open-kitchen display window so you can watch how they bake their products. We decided to eat at the smoke house restaurant. A full rack of ribs, fries and a blooming onion costed $55. The ribs were flavorful and tender but I thought fries and onion were just very average and overpriced. I would skip those next time. Since I was watching my sugar intake, I skipped out on the more popular items and opted for a few scones and muffins for the drive back home. The scones were so rich, buttery and very crumbly on the outside with a dense interior. It was so savory and delicious. The muffins were very good as well and to my surprise wasn't too sweet. This was such a charming little town. I would definitely come back again next time I drive eastward. I think their bakery items are really good and were very reasonable in price. I dropped by here for apple pie, and also picked up some butter tarts, apple fritters and apple & strawberry fritter. The apple pie is quite nice and has a tartness to it for the no added sugar version and I also prefer it cold/fridge. Some prefer it hot and warmed up with ice cream which is an excellent option as well. The butter tarts were also surprisingly nice, gooey in the center with a nice light pie crust. I wouldn't recommend the apple fritter or the apple & strawberry fritter - mine was a bit too much dough, dense and a tad dry and mot to my preference. The store also has some souvenirs to purchase as well as a few hot foot options too if you're passing by and want a touristy type of feel which I quite enjoy. There's also a lot of tour busses that stop here which makes sense as it's a nice quick stop right off the highway.
