First time at a Panera, after hearing about it it's popularity in the US for a while now, figured I should try it out for lunch today. Good selection for meal options; soups, sandwiches, flatbreads, mac and cheese, as well as salads. Better quality fast food. I got the "pick 2" option for more variety. Went for the broccoli cheddar cheese soup with the chipotle chicken avocado sandwich. I was happy with my choice as it tasted delicious. The variety of iced teas was amazing, and super tasty. I didn't stay for dessert, however they had some very delicious looking sweets tempting me for a second visit.

I just got back from the grand opening event! The staff was friendly and courteous, but a couple cashiers got tripped up once or twice while taking orders. That's no fault of theirs really, the crowd that had amassed was quite large, (coaxed out for the free mug and coffee) and I can imagine was quite intimidating for the brand new employees. Despite everything the service moved very quickly and the experience was quite smooth. What really grabbed me was the immaculate scents coming from the back bakery - they hit you as soon as you walk in the door and it's enough to make you swoon. If that doesn't do it for you, then keep walking and take a look at the display counters. They're filled to the brim with pastries, cookies, buns, and scones.. All laid out, just begging to be sampled. Its difficult to choose! (I settled on an asiago cheese bagel... So. Good.) All in all, I was very happy with my experience here. And considering how well everyone held up to the masses, I believe Panera Bread will be a solid business in Belleville for quite a while. I will definitely be back!

Ordered 98 dollars worth of foodat drive thru fairly regular customer attempted to pay with 100 dollar bill which they would not accept from me there were no signs or warnings of this berry annoying

Finally Panera Bread came to Belleville!!! You can tell the emphasis they put on staff training and customer service. This is a chain mostly known through the USA and they have made there entry to Canada, offering unique breads, soups, sandwiches, salad and desserts. This chain is an upgrade to Tim Horton's and Dunkin Donuts, and perfect for a casual breakfast, lunch, dinner, or work meeting.

I miss there egg breakfasts. It's not as good as it was but I'll still go for a lunch date. Gets chai latte and French onion soup

Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs

(5 reviews)

We been enjoying Firehouse Subs for several years now and we finally had a chance to stop in at the…read moreBelleville location looking forward to another delicious sub. Sadly my wife and I were both very disappointed. The location was not busy on a Saturday afternoon at 1:12pm - this should have been a warning sign for us but we were hungry and wanted some takeout. I ordered the Meatball sub, and my wife ordered the Steak and Cheese. These turned out to be two of the most poorly topped subs we've ever seen. We've had Firehouse subs at other locations and were happy with the food, but not here where the toppings are minuscule and hardly any cheese. For a $35 check for two subs, one would expect a decent amount of toppings but they didn't look remotely close to the advertising pics. My Meatball sub had very little marinara sauce where it was actually dry at the ends, and almost no cheese. It looks like they ripped a single slice of cheese into sections and spread it out thinly over the whole sub. The seasonings sprinkled on top looks like spillage. See pic. My wife's Steak and Cheese was just as poorly dressed with one pepper piece ripped in half per section, and two onions. Mayo and mustard barely there, and tiny amount of cheese. She had them do it "garlic bread" style and she couldn't taste the garlic at all. Again not like the advertising and previous experiences. See the last two pics of what they're supposed to look like with generous toppings. I've noticed a trend with foreign staff running franchises - they're cheap with the toppings to cut costs at the expense of quality and customer satisfaction. This location definitely does not do the Firehouse Subs chain any favours. The head office will get getting a copy of this review to advise them of the poor quality at this location.

I just had a steak and cheese sub, and for the money, it was the saddest thing I've ever seen!!!…read moreThin meat, slimy, non-existent toppings, and too much bun. I neither saw nor tasted any onion or peppers on this sub. Waste of money. Never again.

Export Grill - Export bill

Export Grill

Friday March 17th at 9pm we decided to stop for a St. Patrick's Day drink. Export wasn't far away…read moreso we stopped in...bad idea. We have been going here for years but new ownership has jacked up the prices and reducing size and quality of the food. A draft of domestic is now $8.95 which is outrageous for draft. Three tiny slices of a breadstick for their Bruschetta is $13.00 which is also outrageous. The beer was a bit pricey but we wanted a couple so we could deal with that. But the Bruschetta was a joke - three tiny slices from a breadstick, not a baguette or loaf, were so small they were very small two bite size. The bread was grilled but had virtually no garlic flavour and no oil drizzled over top. Since the pieces were so tiny there was no room to put much tomato, onions, and feta on top. Very disappointed for what is a very simple appetizer. We'll never order that again...and if the prices keep going up while shrinking size and quality, they'll lose repeat business. My wife left her phone in the car so we didn't get a pic of the Bruschetta, but it was the tiniest serving we've ever come across and we dine out a lot. If the price was $5-7 it would be ok, but at double we would be embarrassed to serve it. We ate at Castle John's earlier that day for lunch and had 4 drafts and 2 large and fulfilling meals for the same price. Much better food sizes and quality. The service was good thanks to our waitress Stephanie who was very friendly, polite, and quick to take care of us. If we go back, she'll be the reason.

This was honestly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We were a group of 10, arriving…read moreearly for dinner before the theatre. In summary: 4 of the 10 waited over 3 hours with nothing but water or one drink, finally taking their food to go; 5 others received their side dishes about an hour before their main dishes; one received the wrong food twice. There were numerous problems with supply, food quality, atmosphere and service. WE MISSED THE PLAY COMPLETELY. Specific details: The room was an upstairs back "private room" with a table of 10 and a table of 8. The room was so noisy we could barely hear to talk, and we were forgotten for very long periods of the evening. The restaurant had been advised at the time of the reservation of our deadline to attend a 7:30 play, and we all arrived between 5 and 5:30. There were not enough menus to go around, but turns out we had plenty of time to share. Our drink orders were taken around 6:00, and our food orders at 6:30. Food started to arrive after 7:00 and wasn't fully delivered until around 8:45! The order of food served was all over the place (for example, ordering fries and calamari and receiving the two dishes separately an hour apart). Many of us ordered sweet potato fries, which arrived cold and were then told they were out of chipotle mayo (although some mysteriously arrived 1/2 hour later); glasses of wine were ordered but they ran out of it by 6:30. There are two salmon dishes on the menu, and my order was mixed up with the wrong one. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries, but was given peas and garlic bread. I sent the dish back and was told it would only be a few minutes to grill up the salmon I had ordered. An hour later, it finally arrived, overcooked and salty, with none of the ingredients listed on the menu description (chimichurri sauce, avocado, pickled onions). Peas and a mountain of mashed potatoes were provided instead, with no explanation. The poor service was blamed on one person calling in sick. That person must surely be a superhero if they were expected to have corrected all these issues. The manager did finally comp all the food, but not the drinks, nor our unused theatre tickets!

There was a huge truck blocking the entry way. I actually cycled around the block before he left. There are roughly five tight parking spots at the back of the restaurant. I ended up parking next door at a bicycle place that was closed and walked in. A woman said that there was only takeout on Saturdays. How interesting. I was fine with that. Thank goodness I had already checked into the hotel that I was staying at, so I could take my food back. I ordered the rare beef and beef pho noodle soup. It only comes in one size. I also got a small order of pork and vermicelli rolls, with dipping sauce. I sat at one of the tables to wait for my order. There is wifi, which was helpful as I uploaded some photos and checked my e-mail. I'd say that roughly ten minutes later, my order was complete. You can pay using cash, and debit and credit cards. I paid with a credit card. The woman was nice and it felt like a family-run business. She told me to be careful with my order, as the broth was hot. I drove back to my hotel with my goodies. The broth was seeping out of my bag by the time I got to my room. The lid had popped open. Ugh! It's a good thing that I was staying in a hotel room with a kitchenette. I managed to put my vermicelli rolls on a plate. I needed to use two soup bowls to hold all my pho. The one-size-only pho felt like a medium. The vermicelli rolls were amazing. The skin part of each roll was thin and crispy. The filling was flavourful and yummy. Frankly, I should have ordered more of these rolls and called it a meal. The dipping sauce sealed the deal. My pho was disappointing. It may have tasted better all in one huge bowl at the restaurant instead of doing takeout. I only got a few bean sprouts, and my sprig of mint looked sad, wilted, and dinky. I did not like the broth. I don't like ginger slivers. It had some. It dampened my spirits. The rare beef was tough. On a good note, the beef balls were yummy. The pho noodles were done right, too. I really wanted to love this place. I will come back again for the vermicelli rolls, but will steer clear of the pho. I will also try coming back when I can sit there and dine. (335)
