I ordered the Momma's special #2 - 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, peameal bacon, baked beans, texas toast, bottomless coffee $11.99. My wife ordered the eggs benedict with peameal bacon $12.99. Both plates were loaded and we had leftovers to take home. I recommend the Momma's specials as they give you the best bang for your buck. Friendly service and decent brunch food at a great price. The coffee was a bit watered down but not unusual for these type of establishments. The restaurant is clean and plenty of parking available. read more

I stopped in for lunch with my coworkers. This is a nice little restaurant. There is ample spacing between the tables. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Looking for something for dinner that wasn't pizza, I remembered this spot that a friend had mentioned awhile back. I googled the address and took a ride out to this spot, very convenient to get to from the 401! It was super busy inside, always a good sign. I ordered take out, a crispy chicken sandwich and Momma's Club house sandwich. Both were a healthy size and very filling! We both enjoyed the food, and the sides were delicious too! I got the onion rings, and my partner got the fries. I couldn't keep my hands off them, so obviously they were tasty. We have eaten breakfast here many times! The food and the service is excellent. On this particular Monday the air conditioning was not working. It was unbearable. Our poor waitress was working in inhuman conditions. Not even a fan! We won't be returning until the owner fixes the air conditioning! Staff were friendly and the restaurant was very inviting, however there were no vegetarian options which was a bit disappointing.

My Torontonian friends and I chose to eat here on the way back from Ottawa; it turned out to be a respectable choice. I was initially very hesitant; coming from New Jersey, which is a state plastered with a myriad of 24-hour full service diners, I am quite picky with respect to any establishment that claims the "diner" moniker. This establishment offers what can be considered standard diner fare, with a wide, but not too overwhelming selection of burgers, pastas, sandwiches, and breakfast fare. The selection by no means rivals what I am used to in Jersey, but it still took a while to sift through the choices. I finally settled on a burger with "peameal bacon," which, as I found out later on by way of a Wikipedia lookup, we Stateside folks call Canadian bacon coated with cornmeal. (To the New Jerseyan readers out there, the taste is much like what we know as Taylor ham/pork roll.) The meat was not properly cooked to the medium-rare doneness I requested, but it was still juicy nevertheless; few diners achieve truly correct doneness in any case. The onion rings, thank goodness, were the type where the onions are discernible and not merely an afterthought overshadowed by batter. Also, my friends notably had no complaints with respect to the pastas that they ordered. Service was with a smile, and the hostesses appeared unfazed by the fact that we were the only Asian fellows in the room on a relatively crowded late Saturday afternoon. The above being said, could one transplant this diner from Trenton, Ontario to Trenton, NJ and successfully blend in? The answer is a resounding yes, but in addition to renaming some of the terms on their menu, they would certainly need to revamp their hours of operation. :) read more

Walked in...walked out. I've eaten in some dives and been surprised by the food. But, I draw the line at seeing food remnants on a 'clean' table and food on a 'clean fork'. Used to go to this diner, when I was in town visiting my brother. They used to be a decent place to eat... really has gone down hill. I had to clean off the table myself... the server was standing around chatting with the locals. The music playing was loud heavy metal... not appropriate first thing in the morning. The server proceeded to try to serve me burnt toast, of which I asked to have it taken back. Food was terrible, the service nominally better... avoid at all costs. Don't go there... a Tim Horton's is a better bet, than this dive. read more

First time eating at this diner. I'm big on diners and love the mom and pop feel. This establishment was a huge disappointment. The place was slammed (30+patrons) and there was only 2 waitresses and 1 cook. We got our order of coffee/menus after sitting for over 5 minutes and when I put creamer in my coffee it was spoiled. I had to approach the cash to get a fresh cup. After ordering, it took over 20 minutes for an order of eggs/toast and sausage. Definitely wouldn't waste my time/money on this place. Yesterday had a heck of a gathering. Servers were hustlin and bustlin while their geriatric congregation moaned and groaned about the weather and what not. On this journey Cornfood was accompanied by Lady food, and ElderFood. Quickly drinks arrived and clenched thirst. Cornfood took up and attended the spots urinals. To Cornfood's surprise, the bathroom was littered with urin spots, toilet paper and what looked like vomit. Cornfood was scared about the food. The menu was read, decisions were made, and fate had sent the mopey server to our table. Time passed and our meals arrived. Served up for Ladyfood was a buffalo wrap, where she failed to eat the whole meal, wammmp. Elderfood consumed a club wrap and complimented the tastes. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here! It was my first time in Trenton, so I wasn't really expecting to find much in this small town. I came here for lunch on a Monday and ordered a chicken souvlaki wrap. It came with fries on the side and I think it was around $8-$9. The wrap was a pretty big portion and filled with lots of meat and vegetables, and the fries were thick cut and delicious. The chicken was also really good! A lot of times I have issues with places that overcook their chicken or make it too dry, but the chicken here was delicious, moist, and juicy. I was actually quite impressed! The service was also friendly and pretty quick. In terms of the environment, it's not the swankiest place, but I guess it has a cute kind of small-town diner feel to it - while I was there the radio was tuned to a country station so that kind of added to the ambience :P read more

I had been to Momma's a number of times in the past when visiting family in Trenton. I recall the food being of good quality and the service warm and welcoming. This visit was completely opposite, our group of five had to wait to be seated and the three staff members working the floor didn't even acknowledge that we were in the establishment. Once seated it took another ten minutes to get a coffee, and a further ten minutes before someone took our order. The food took 20 minutes to come out once we finally did order, and the home fries were over cooked to the point of being burnt, and the eggs were undercooked with the whites still running clear, and we had to ask multiple times for coffee refills. First time in this restaurant and we walked out....the service was the worst ever but we never got the food after waiting 1 hour to find out....the waitress..couldn't have cared less...gave us menus and then left after 30 minutes came back to take order and get our drinks..then it got worse...we waited and waited and got angrier and angrier as other people were coming up to the counter and eating and leaving and even truck drivers were coming in and getting their meals and leaving...after 45 minutes we asked the waitress and she said another 8-9 ,minutes so we waited another 15 minutes then walked out....another waitress did come over and asked if we had our food yet and told us it was just coming out but by then we had left and went down the street to a smaller and nicer restaurant.....never will be recommend this restaurant or go there again...I know it was busy but 1 hour is not called for and the waitress needs to be fired.. read more

Really great food. Kids really loved their food and adults were quite happy. They were able to accommodate our group of 7. The all day breakfast is fantastic. The service wasn't anything spectacular but the food was excellent and the prices were really good, with kids meals under $5. read more
