Personally I didn't stay at the inn but came to check it out because why not. The food was pretty on par with most diner food and wasn't all that bad. The fries were extremely tasty though. I personally had a sandwich that I forget the name of but it had ham cheese and an omelette in side it. It was delicious and quite filling as well. Everything was super cute and very small town so I would definitely rather come here than a chain. Our food came pretty fast as well and in true small town fashion our waitress was extremely friendly and amazing. After you're done eating you can walk outside where there is a dock connecting to the water. It was a lovely view and I would definitely recommend checking it out after eating. read more

Best breakfast I ever had especially the home fries. Great service and steak and eggs were great!

We came around lunch and had to wait no more than 10 minutes for a table of four. Wish we could sit outside but maybe those tables were closed for the season. Menu is large with lots of breakfast/brunch items.So we ordered a few items for the kids and also a burger and fish and chips for us. Not lying, but the portions were really generous, especially the kid's breakfast and everything was sooo delicious. Don't miss the chance to try the fries(lattuce fries?) -they're the best. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and nice. I've haven't had such a pleasant experience in a very long time. read more

We came to Prince Edward County for a weekend getaway during COVID-19. Having not sat in a restaurant for a very long time, we were quite skeptical about doing that. We were in the mood for breakfast and planned to takeout. After seeing inside, we noticed this place using "plastic curtains" to divide patrons! Wonderful! All servers were wearing masks. Breakfast. Pancakes. Need I say more?! Perhaps my favourite breakfast diner-type restaurant.

We stayed here for the night. Room is clean and beds are queen. The hotel was sold out but despite that we were lucky to be in civil company and it was a noise free and peaceful getaway. Restaurant: Excellent service. The restaurant was packed but we managed an early breakfast. It is first come first served. Only been open for 3 days after closures and the service was amazing. Food came in super fast. Coffee is diner style, topped up very frequently. The burger is great, pancakes are fresh (especially recommend the blueberry pancakes). For the eggs breakfasts, the home fries could've been done better (I prefer the unhealthier deep fried option!) , these were more of a sautéed style. I am able to walk out satiated as opposed to feeling grossly full! read more

We were taking a road trip through to Prince Edward county, and read really good reviews at this place, so we drove in to grab some breakfast. We both got the breakfast special with toast, eggs and home fries. This meal usually comes with some type of meat as well (bacon, sausage, etc.) $10. We both did not want the breakfast meat option and asked for a substitute, the waitress offered the garnish as a substitute, (orange slices or tomato slice) this was very disappointing. I think a better substitute would have been to have an additional egg, instead of garnish. My breakfast companion just added chicken to his meal when a substitute wasn't available for the breakfast meat ( I'm not sure how much this was, I think a surcharge of$4) I ordered eggs over easy and was given over medium, which was still good. The home fires have the lighthouses own little touch of special seasoning, but I would have liked them to be more crispy on the outside, they were tender and soft potatoes tossed in this sauce, I think calling it a hash would be more appropriate. I chose the rye bread option, with was loaded with real butter, and we were given two packets of jam upon asking. The waitress was friendly, and gave us some tips for things that tourists would find interesting to do, but most of these places were close due to the pandemic. They staff were all very familiar with the menu. It's a nice little place beside the water, and they set up pic nick tables for guests to sit after getting their food, it's a really nice spot to hang out, feel the breeze and just relax. Overall I can't say I was impressed by the offerings here, and the standard breakfast was nothing special. So I wouldn't return particularly for the food, it really just just eggs, bread and potatoes... nothing special. But the outdoor seating, view and friendliness of the staff I might make another pit stop here for that. read more

My girlfriend and I came over to Prince Edward County for the weekend and wanted to grab some brunch. We got there for 10:30 am and had a little bit of a wait. We were told that we can wait out back by the water if we liked, so we sat on the scenic dock and someone came and hollered out for us when they were ready, about 20 mins later. It was a very pleasant wait. The girlfriend got the vegetarian Eggs Benedict (mushroom and swiss cheese) and I got the Steak and Eggs Special. The food was great! The hollandaise sauces was especially great. Light and creamy. I am not a fan of citrus-y hollandaise, so this was a real treat. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly! The steak cooked well, but some hot sauce was needed for flavour. What gives this place a 5 star rating though, was the service. Our server, Tiffany, was friendly, happy, attentive, and available. She was around just the right amount, and was the sweetest, remembering our names and really making us feel like we were at home. The price was very reasonable. With our two meals and drinks, we ended up paying about $31 together (without tip) Excellent overall experience! read more

They weren't kidding when they say this is the place to have breakfast! We had to wait to get a table, but they turn tables quickly so we didn't have to wait too long. The menu is extensive but has your normal breakfast offerings. Food was made to order, staff was friendly and approachable. Our coffee mugs were always topped up. This seems to be a popular breakfast spot. We arrived at 9am and barely managed to snag a table. The interior is small but charming, with maybe a dozen tables. The atmosphere makes for a nice morning pick-me-up. The menu is fairly exhaustive, with all of the normal brunch offerings, and a fairly good range of prices (you can get a decent breakfast for ~$5-$6). I ended up ordering a loaded omelette, while my wife went for the eggs benedict. The omelette was good, but the eggs benedict was better. The home fries were also really good. There's nothing particularly fancy about this place, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This is a straightforward and good brunch spot. read more

This is the best breakfast I've ever had. Period. And hands down. We happened to be in Prince Edward County, looked on Yelp to see where was good to eat, found this place, and walked in the doors to a parallel dimension where the staff are friendly, energetic, charming and helpful and the food is perfect. I've never had hash browns as crispy and tasty and perfect as these. I had the breakfast poutine and it was a little insane. The has browns were ideal, dreamy, the egg fantastic, the hollandaise sauce and bacon top notch.... it was a little crazy, actually. My brother had broken something in the mechanics of his nose so he had a perpetual nosebleed and the staff were super accommodating (I'd have thrown him out with the trash if I was them and told him not to bleed in our establishment) and helpful and even concerned! Great people. He was also amazed at his food. I forgot to mention the blueberry pancakes were light, fluffy, and tasty! Only complaint was the syrup wasn't maple! Right here in Canada! Even with that major faux pas, the pancakes were still A+ and the restaurant A++. Even without maple syrup. If that's not an endorsement, you tell me what is. I hope I end up in Picton again simply to dine again at this fantastic establishment. read more

The Lighthouse offers a huge , tasty breakfast with all the trimmings. They've changed their recipe for home fries. It used to include more green onion, and mushrooms. Now it seems dry with just potatoes. My favourite is poached eggs or the sumptuous Eggs Benedict whenever you are feeling extra hungry. It's been a local breakfast and lunch eatery for at least 30 years. It's been renovated nicely when it sold 3-5 years ago. But they still kept the wonderful photos of the Picton Harbour and shipping boats sending produce out of the County. Try and guess who is a local!! read more

I come here for breakfast every time I'm in Picton. So does everybody else, it seems, judging by the lineup at 8:30am on a Saturday. The décor is clean, old school diner style with charming historical photos of the area between the big windows that let in a lot of light. This place serves the basics, and does it very well. My wife loves the eggs benny here, but no matter what you order, you and your wallet will be happy. Looking forward to next time! read more

Picton Harbour Inn's Lighthouse Restaurant easily has THE best breakfast in Prince Edward County. The service is excellent - always fast, always delicious. Their Eggs Benedict is the best I've ever had. The fully loaded hot chocolate is basically diabetes in a glass, and I am not even slightly mad about it. The only drawback is that the Lighthouse Restaurant is so flippin' popular you will likely have to wait for a table. But even that isn't a problem, because their turnaround time is amazing. read more

The breakfast was well worth the wait (not long - 10 mins). The food tasted as good as it looked! The atmosphere is clean and bright. What really made it a fantastic experience was our server, Kari. She was a total ray of sunshine and made us smile with every refill of coffee and smile as she checked in to see if we needed anything. There is no shortage of menu options and something for everyone's taste. I will definitely be going back for breakfast and will check out the lunch/dinner menu in the future as well. As this restaurant is slightly off the main strip, it may be overlooked. I strongly recommend making the detour off the main drag to visit this restaurant. read more

Hoooooooooooly crap. In Toronto, we have a surfeit of overpriced, mediocre breakfasts, or breakfasts where there's a couple of good elements and then something pretty disappointing. Everything in the Bay Breakfast (two sizes: Big and Small, plus or minus an egg) is well-made, and tasty. You get an egg prepared the way you like, a choice of ham/peameal/bacon/regular sausage/farmer's sausage/one other option I can't remember but I think exists, toast, home fries, and a pancake. Do you know how hard it is to find a place in Toronto that offers this deceptively simple but satisfying combo? There's always something missing or that you have to order on the side, frequently at a price/amount you don't want. There were four of us. We arrived at around 9 on a Friday and with a small line, were given a 20-30 minute wait. We went for a walk and got back in about 20 and the table was waiting for us. The server, this impossibly friendly and bright young lady, brought us menus and a pot of coffee ready to pour for any of us who wanted it. Almost nobody does this in Toronto. They ask and come back. She was ready. I never want any of my morning meals to begin any other way now. The coffee is fine -- not outstanding like the best coffee I've ever had, but not weak for me. My sunnyside egg was perfect. The bacon was excellent, the way I prefer it -- chewy, but crispy. My friends highly recommend the farmer's sausage. The toast was regular, but fine -- not soggy. THE HOME FRIES. So good. The potatoes were cooked through so they didn't have a dense middle -- you bite into creamy centres. They were prepared with cheese (?), mushrooms, and brilliantly, green onion. The green onion adds a fresh, bright, grassy flavour to the heavy, creaminess, panfried crispness of the home fries. THE PANCAKE! Enormous. I always crave one pancake and I was thrilled. I ordered chocolate chips -- heavenly, but of course, rich. They also have blueberries and an option to upgrade to real maple syrup from table syrup. The dining room is small, and decorated with 1970/80s nautical Canadiana. Serviceable -- no real complaints. All our main dishes arrived together, with pancakes following shortly thereafter. Not perfect, but fine since we were happy to dig into our meals right away. I might get sick of this place if I lived in town. But getting to go on a trip satisfied a great longing for a great, all-options breakfast I really don't easily find in Toronto. I seriously suggested pausing by the kitchen to call compliments to the cooks/chefs (I know!). Maybe it was the two-hour drive there. Maybe I was sleep-deprived. Fantastic meal to complement a morning driving around the eastern side of Prince Edward County. We got there just after official closing time. They courteously sat us, and then stuffed us full of excellent food. I had the Big Bay Breakfast. Pancake = yummmm (upgraded to real maple syrup). All pork farmers sausage PERFECTLY cooked and tasty tasty tasty. Eggs poached beautifully. Home fries best I've had in ages (usually I have a few bites only, but these were well worth finishing). It was a long wait just to get a table and they weren't seating in order of the list you were on, but by how big your party was (in my case 3 people, so the parties of 2 who came in after were getting seated first) then when we got seated no menus were provided, luckily we had a menu from when we were waiting. The food took a while to arrive but at least it was hot, the home fries were over salted, the pancake was burn on the bottom. The real kick in the experience was when we were trying to pay, the cashier/manager was on the phone with someone trying to book a room, she got off the phone long enough to tell a customer coming in that they were closed, then basically told me to wait for her to get finished on the phone. When I told her I had a wedding to get to, she snatched the bill off the counter and took all of 5 seconds to ring it in, hand me the debit pad and said in a snarky tone "there ya go". This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. For being such a small space you would think that the service would be excellent and better managed. It started with a very long wait, with the manager not being able to give a time frame on the wait. While our server was friendly she did not even seat us or give us menus. Again another long wait for the food which was decent. When our server asked if we were done eating we still waited another 10 minutes and she had to be signalled for the bill. This could have all been ok until we went to pay our bill. The cranky manager Carol was on the phone and again we awaited for 10 minutes. When another couple came in she promptly put the caller on hold to tell them the restaurant was closed, then turning to us and saying "I am sorry, I am on the phone, it is going to be a few more minutes." When my husband made it clear we had to get to another function Carol then became very rude. She gave my husband a very nasty look and then clearly irritated snatched the bill and keyed in the amount. When the transaction went through she ripped the the slip off the debit machine said very snarky "There you go." I get that service people can have bad days but as a manager Carol clearly is in the wrong job and it was no longer a surprise that her staff were not working as quickly as could be. It's a good thing that this restaurant is not the only way this hotel makes its money, although I would never stay at this hotel given this experience. If you are ever in the Picton area, DO NOT eat here. There are many other options in the area. read more
