What a great end to an already great day in Prince Edward County…read more We came for dinner after being delighted by the vinegars at Black Prince Winery and the liquors at Kinsip Spirits. FYI the gps took us to a collection of buildings called The Warehouse which contains a fancy lodge, a reception area, and a few other things. This restaurant is located past/behind the Reception building and immediately adjacent to the Cookery. Perhaps because of the hot weather and perhaps because it was a Monday night, there was almost no one there and we got the pick of any of the dining areas they offered (garden area, dining room, bar, standard, and patio). We opted for the patio and enjoyed being the only ones there even though it was a bit warm. Seriously, this place is huge and can probably accommodate 100 tables or more despite it looking like a cute, ivy-covered, European-inspired cottage. We opted for the Crispy Chicken Sandwhich and the Fish and Chips plus a beer (Parson's Westy Pale Ale). Our server was so sweet, bubbly, and helpful. I wish I could remember her name but she had long dark hair worn back in a ponytail. She knew a lot about the menu, including the sweets, and helped us choose the Coconut Cream Pie for dessert. The food itself was delicious! Chicken in the CCS was sweet and tangy with great texture and crisp, and the sandwhich was really well balanced with the pickles and slaw. I love me some spice, so I would have opted for a spicy sauce over a sweet one, but it was still a great sandwhich. The house salad it came with was yummy too--greens, cucumbers, and carrots with pepitas and a creamy apple cider dressing. I didn't try the fried fish in the FnC, but SO said it was pretty good. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned with flaked sea salt. The Coconut Cream Pie was excellent. The pie filling was light and creamy and not super sweet, and the crust was definitely homemade graham cracker with a lot of extra sweetness to complement the light filling. I must say it wasn't the best CCP I have ever had (Tartine in San Francisco makes one simply out of this world) but it was still really nice. Overall, great experience and will return.

Had dinner here tonight with the family. Nice place, good service and very good, fresh, local food…read more Highly recommended and nice ambiance.

Oh. my. The food. The dining experience. The interior ambiance…read more It's been a long time since I've been THIS impressed by a restaurant and literally ALL the dishes we ordered. If there is one restaurant to splurge at in PEC, I would highly recommend you pick Flame + Smith! I have to first compliment our server, he was exceptionally pleasant! Attentive with our waters, brought sharing plates for everything we shared, cleared the table/plates/utensils after each dish, and was so knowledgeable with the local ingredients! Every dish was plated BEAUTIFULLY and garnished with their garden edible flowers. I kid you not, all of them were 5/5 knock my tastebuds off. -Chilled zucchini soup (surprisingly refreshing and creamy) -Local Burrata & heirloom tomatoes (loved the bits of salt in the focaccia that brought out the sweet tomatoes, nutty pistachio butter, creamy cheese and tart berries) -Thai Soft Shelled crab (so crispy on the outside but sweet crabby meat on the inside, compliments the green papaya salad underneath) - Lamb rack (overall yummy, but wish the cut of meat wasn't as fatty as it was) -Charred radicchio with hazelnuts (nice side to add to our main course) -Strawberry tart (showstopper and grand finale of our meal, the thicker crust carries the white chocolate lava and strawberry foam cloud on top) Ugh, I still daydream about eating here. Keep it up Flame+Smith!

The croquette was perfectly crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside. It was a lot better than other croquettes I've had in Canada. The octopus was also really good, it was perfectly flavoured and the texture was not too chewy. The star of the show was the paella. The paella was super good, a little on the saltier side. The mussels were delicious, but it was a bit sandy inside, I felt it could be cleaned a bit better. Overall love this restaurant and would come back!

I recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment. We were early for our reservation and the hostess was able to give us a table. There are 2 dining rooms with different themes. The front room has a beautiful bar beside the open air kitchen. The dining area has a nice bright rustic ambiance. Definitely, a great place for date night. The rear dining room has a lounge feel. The light is dimmed and tables have candlelights. There's nice lounge music playing here as well. Now for the food. The menu is divided into 3 sections: Tapas del bar - small dishes to share and sample some curated Spanish delicacies. Grande provides a selection of main course entrees. Paella is a Valencian rice dish that is great for sharing and served on a large cast iron skillet. We ordered the jamon croquetas. The croquetas were served with pickles and garlic aioli. They are delicate and packed with flavor. The second tapas we ordered was the Albacore tuna served with bulgur cracker. The dish was esthetically pleasing and we really enjoying the green liquid sauce. Very impressive dish. For our main we decided to share the seafood paella which consisted of Argentina red shrimps, organic salmon, and mussels. The rice was flavorful and we love the crispy rice on the bottom of the skillet. This dish checked all the boxes in flavor, presentation, and texture. We finished our meal with the grand finale: Spanish Churro. This is not your regular churro. This was shaped like a cinamon bun and you have two delightful dipping sauces - dolce de leche and dark chocolate. This was by far the best churro I've ever had. Overall, the experience was exceptional and I recommend this place if yoi are looking to try some elevated Spanish cuisine. The server was attentive and provided advice on how to eat each dish. The prices are on the higher-end so plan on spending about $50-$75 per person.
