Tasty food, large portions, nice atmosphere, and considerate staff. We ordered the chicken Thai…read morecurry puff appetizer, chuchee fried fish and tofu pad see eew mains, and Thai fried ice cream for dessert. I wasn't a huge fan of the curry puffs but that is personal preference; this appetizer, which was a valentines day specials, came with two heart shaped puff pastry filled with potatoes, veggies, and chicken. They tasted like they were primarily seasoned with curry powder. Both main dishes were exceptionally tasty. The chuchee fried fish (valentine's day special) was crispy, and the curry was rich in flavor with a nice kick to it. The pad see eew was a very large dish, after we'd eaten our fill it hardly looked like we'd touched the plate. It made a good lunch the next day. If you're a fan of spice, the chili oil it came with was great (flavorful and hot). The thai fried ice cream was perfect for two. Ordering more than one would have been too much (for me). Next time we visit I'd like to order the crispy pork belly, and the mango sticky rice.

The Bad: Online pictures are nothing like the actual look of the presented dish. Our party of 4 was split in the opinion of this place. The prices on line and in person are at least $2.00 higher on a few items. Some drinks are made with a "twist"but should probably be renamed and not labeled after "Mojito and Sex on the beach". Really terrible taste. We enjoyed the Soju and appetizers unanimously. The worst part to our evening celebration came when 9pm came and we had to leave. The birthday girl left behind present & birthday card. I quickly called the restaurant which was closed by then. I was told they were cleaning and took name & # to call back as they were in the process of cleaning and was going to check with server and clearing person. Well, 4 phone calls later and 1 unresponsive email to the restaurant I was told nothing was left and nothing was found. I can certainly say that isn't so. We all remember the item left behind and was very descriptive. I love supporting small businesses so this is dissapoiting and unacceptable. At least return calls and messages. We won't be returning here and not recommending. Wild Elephant was chosen to come celebrate and we're left with this experience.

TL;DR/The Short Version: One of the very few Asian…read morerestaurants in Perth, ON. We got takeout. The Pad Ki Mow was tasty. No table service. The Long Version: My husband and I got takeout from The Hot Wok for dinner when we were staying in Perth. All their food is packaged as takeout, but they do have seating where you can eat your takeout food, just no table service. We decided to take the food back to our hotel room instead. We got the Bang Bang Chicken ($18.25) and the Shrimp Pad Ki Mow ($19.50). I called my order in and we walked there to pick it up. I was told it would take about 30 minutes to be ready. (They make everything to order.) We arrived after 30 minutes and our food was ready as promised. The lady on the phone was very courteous and I think she was the same lady at the pickup counter. The Bang Bang Chicken was listed on the menu as "Lightly breaded chicken tossed in a creamy honey sauce, on a bed of greens." It did not mention sesame seeds were sprinkled on top and I forgot to say "no sesame seeds" with my order so I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't really eat this dish, but that was on me. I was able to manage a few bites that didn't have sesame seeds on them (I can handle mild contamination) and I found the meat a bit dry, but the outside was pleasantly crispy and the honey sauce was pleasant. The "bed of greens" was actually raw shredded cabbage and carrots in a creamy sauce. I was asked how spicy I wanted this dish and I said medium, but it wasn't spicy at all, like not even mildly spicy, lol. Don't worry, the food didn't go to waste, as my husband ate it. The dish came with a small serving of steamed white rice. The rice was good, not too mushy nor too dry. The Shrimp Pad Ki Mow was tasty, albeit a tad too oily for me. It had 6 large shrimp, which were all properly deveined. They were plump and juicy. The dish also had broccoli, cauliflower, onions, carrots and Bok Choy. I was happy to see they were very generous with the vegetables. You have the option of having this dish with rice noodles or rice, I chose the noodles since that's what traditional Pad Ki Mow is. However, the noodles used were rather thin, like even thinner than traditional Pad Thai noodles. I like the wider noodles that typically come with Pad Ki Mow (or as I usually know it as, Pad Kee Mao). I was also asked what spice level I wanted this dish and I also said medium, and for this dish, it was a true medium as it had a spicy kick to it. They have their own private parking lot in front of the restaurant that is shared with their next door neighbour Jersey Joe's. Review #42 (2025)

I noticed that there was sweet-and-sour fish on the menu. I inquired if they could do a variation with chicken and the chef approved. So the girls chowed down on that and we're happy. The staff were so kin and accommodating. They also brought the girls some balloons which was unexpected and great! We were also served Jasmine tea, very floral. Beautiful decor overall! So fancy

My wife and I ordered 4 things to share: Sweet and sour soup, pan fried green beans, refreshing wood ear fungus (trust me it tastes better than it sounds) and a tomato beef brisket dish. Portions were BIG. The wood ear dish was my favorite, it was vinegary, slightly sweet and had a good chewy texture. The green beans were good . The tomato beef brisket dish needed more beef. It had plenty of tomato, but I was fishing around to find more meat. Tasted good though. I'll be back.

The restaurant itself was such a large space with nice seating. Service throughout the meal was good but a bit slower. For appetizers, we had plates laid out for us to grab from. The eggplant items and spring roll I think were the best. We all got a large plate of salad which felt very generic with no Thai flavors. For my main, I chose the chicken in red curry. The curry was good, a bit mild though. The chicken itself was a little bit dryer than I was hoping for but flavor was good. I do also wish they had more veggies in the dish as well but the ones that were in there were well cooked. It would have been nice if there was more eggplant and hopefully also some bamboo shoots as well. Finally, for dessert I had the warm chocolate cake. The cake was tasty - basically just a chocolate lava cake. Additionally the ice cream it came with was a nice addition. All in all, a fine meal option in the area.
