I recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment. We were early for our reservation and the hostess was able to give us a table. There are 2 dining rooms with different themes. The front room has a beautiful bar beside the open air kitchen. The dining area has a nice bright rustic ambiance. Definitely, a great place for date night. The rear dining room has a lounge feel. The light is dimmed and tables have candlelights. There's nice lounge music playing here as well. Now for the food. The menu is divided into 3 sections: Tapas del bar - small dishes to share and sample some curated Spanish delicacies. Grande provides a selection of main course entrees. Paella is a Valencian rice dish that is great for sharing and served on a large cast iron skillet. We ordered the jamon croquetas. The croquetas were served with pickles and garlic aioli. They are delicate and packed with flavor. The second tapas we ordered was the Albacore tuna served with bulgur cracker. The dish was esthetically pleasing and we really enjoying the green liquid sauce. Very impressive dish. For our main we decided to share the seafood paella which consisted of Argentina red shrimps, organic salmon, and mussels. The rice was flavorful and we love the crispy rice on the bottom of the skillet. This dish checked all the boxes in flavor, presentation, and texture. We finished our meal with the grand finale: Spanish Churro. This is not your regular churro. This was shaped like a cinamon bun and you have two delightful dipping sauces - dolce de leche and dark chocolate. This was by far the best churro I've ever had. Overall, the experience was exceptional and I recommend this place if yoi are looking to try some elevated Spanish cuisine. The server was attentive and provided advice on how to eat each dish. The prices are on the higher-end so plan on spending about $50-$75 per person.

I'm from an even smaller town, so I'm used to short lists for those things, but I was glad when I randomly came across The Lark. It wasn't on one of the review sites or a travel blog, but just simply perusing the downtown landscape on Google Maps. Their space on Bridge Street is airy and spacious, but the small footprint keeps things intimate, with a stunning bar that beckons to slake your thirst. Although the restaurant's name isn't on-the-nose Italian, the menu is very much so. With a handful each of primi, secondi and dolci, chances are that you won't suffer from choice paralysis while ordering, but what they have is nonetheless quite enticing. Burrata is always an easy choice, especially at a restaurant like The Lark where you know you're going to get good quality cheese and accoutrements. They didn't disappoint! The milky, semi-solid cheese paired well with tender hunks of sweet butternut squash and the crisp savouriness of fried sage. Pomegranate seeds and hazelnuts brought some sweetness and crunch, while house-made sourdough was good enough to be eaten on its own. For my main, I went with the beef cheek pappardelle. The succulent shreds of cheek took the place of ground beef in the rich Bolognese, and my taste buds were all the better for it. The fresh pappardelle was luxuriously tender, with its delicate folds sopping up all that delicious sauce. Rounded out with parm and basil, it shows that you don't have to recreate the wheel to make an excellent dish. My wife's brown butter gnocchi was no slouch either, with a decadent cream sauce, and nice hint of char to the lovely and light pasta pillows. Not to be beaten, the apple cobbler was absolutely amazing. Definitely sized for two, but no judgment if you solo it, every part was fall dessert perfection. Service was wonderfully knowledgeable on the food and drink side, as well as friendly and easygoing. I was getting strong owner-vibes, but I'm too lazy to do the amount of Googling required for a confirm. The Lark is getting done dirty by the algorithm on the major review sites and if they won't loudly announce their possession of the title as "best restaurant in Belleville", I sure will.

I've gone back again since my first time visiting to try a few more things. The Beef Cheek Pappardelle was my overall favourite, but the Beef short rib was a close second. It's a cute little spot in downtown Belleville with a nice ambience. There's lots of street parking available nearby or there's a big lot that's very walkable. Service was great, we even got the bartenders choice for the drinks and it was really well done. If you're ever in the Belleville area and are looking for a spot to have dinner, this is definitely the place.

The menu changes according to what is available - such is the nature of farm to table - but the server says pork and fish are often on the menu. We had roasted beets, shishito peppers, stuffed squash flowers, pickerel, and pork belly. We were happily stuffed as we enjoyed every bite!! The server said they do Sunday brunch and we hope to try that before we leave. There's outdoor seating but we sat inside as it was a cold September night. Service was excellent and the portions were explained to us and how the ordering is typically done (medium plates, meant to share with 2-3 dishes per person). The food was really well done especially with the seasonal/daily offerings. The duck liver mousse was the favourite at the table served with thin bread. The mousse was smooth with good duck liver flavour and a nice sweet balanced with the pickled onions. The duck leg confit was well cooked and very tender with good seasoning. The pork belly and mussels were good, but not so much a highlight in comparison. Ended the dinner off with the Chamomile creme brulee which was also excellent.

It was served in a butter sauce with grilled asparagus and zucchini. The prices here are reasonable with most food items coming to less than $25.
