The only plus point of this location is the view; other than that, it has the slowest service and not many food choices on the menu. I got here before 4pm and there were 2 groups of seniors ahead of me in the lineup. One of the staff came to the waiting table and guided them to their table and then disappeared; to the extend that the senior couple in front of me went and sat down on the bench outside, waiting for her to come back. She came back after 15 15 minutes and got their and my number and put it on the list and disappeared again. We watched 2 groups finishing up their food and drinks and leave the restaurant. But, she never came to guide us to our table. Instead she was running around with the other waiting staff, literally doing nothing!!! By the time she eventually decided to come to us, there was a huge lineup behind me. I'm not sure if they are deliberately doing it as a marketing tool to create a huge line up and make it look like they are more popular than the restaurant on the other side of the road or they are severely understaffed! After more than 1 hour, I was led to my table, but again, it took them literally 20 minutes to bring me a menu! There is not many various or complicated options on the menu, a few flat breads, charcuterie and appetizers. So, I ordered a flatbread and waited forever for my food to arrive. Sometime in the middle of the 2 staff running around, one of them brought me a glass of water. I believe it was around 5:30 pm that they served my VERY SIMPLE flatbread. She asked me if I wanted another glass of water and went to bring me one, but by the time she brought me the next glass of water, I was already done with my food! I requested the bill and I told them I would rather leave sooner. But then again, it took her 10 minutes to bring me my bill! It was almost 6:00pm by the time I could escape that place! What is going on here? Is the owner keeping the restaurant understaffed as a marketing tool, or is too cheap to pay for more staff??!! I don't think the view is worth being stood up like this!

Honestly can't give less than 5 stars for the amazing view this place has.. on the mountain with an exclusive view of the lake it's a beautiful spot to relax and have a drink. We got some lemonades they were ok, but anything with this view is awesome! Got few nibbles and dessert but the view is amazing and the service was top notch and friendly :) Great music on the background, if it wasn't for my bored kids I'd be here all day!

Flambee maison and the local smoked whitefish

What a fantastic little find!! If you're ever traveling around in the Picton area, you've gotta stop by for a nice afternoon snack or brunch. We came over the long weekend and they were pretty meticulous with their sanitizing and physical distancing. No indoor seating allowed, which, if you've seen their view, is just fine by me. We got to enjoy such a gorgeous view to lake Ontario and watch the boats beneath setting sail. This seems to be the place to go for anyone who wants to just sit back and enjoy a nice glass of wine or a local chilled beer. Their platters looked amazing, but we ended up ordering the flambee maison and local smoked white fish. Both were delicious! I think the bread for the flambee was really tough and hard to chew, so maybe not the best date food. We'll stick with the platters next time. I had also ordered a sparkling berry drink which was delicious and refreshing! Service was a bit slow, but great! Very friendly staff

Cute cafe spot by the water! We came during the summer. Where we sat didn't have the most scenic of views, but it was still nice and refreshing. The service was a little sparse. The cafe is quite small, so space was limited. The wait time isn't bad, but you better have your sunscreen ready during the summer! For drinks, we had the fresh berry fruit spritzer and Arnold Palmer, which we're both nice and refreshing. For foods, we got the fromage a trois platter, flambée Nordique, and house roast beef tartine. The fromage a trois platter had nice cheeses and made a nice snacking/appetizer dish. That being said, I wish they brought it out as an appetizer before the rest of the food, instead of along with all the other items ordered. The flambée Nordique had a good blend of the salty smoked salmon and the creamy cheese, which paired really well with the peppery arugula. The salmon tasted fresh too! The house roast beef tartine was good as well. The tangy but mild cream on top of the beef is a nice combination! Overall, the food was quite nice, but the price tag was pretty steep for what you got. I understand that this is a tourist destination in a prime scenic location, but it's definitely going to make me think twice about coming here again.

Beautiful views and tasty shareable dishes As the title states, the major attraction to the restaurant are the beautiful views of the Lake on the Mountain. If you're lucky, you'll be seated right at the edge to have the best views; even if you're not, the views from wherever on the patio are still beautiful. The menu is comprised of tasty shareable favorites from crostinis, flatbreads to dips. There is a broad selection of beers, cidres and wines from the area. We tried the smoked white fish dip and the tomato/labneh crostini. Both very delicious, but cold appetizers. There are quite a few options of each type of food offered: flatbreads, dips, crostinis. Nice options to share with a group!

This place has a great patio with amazing view without a doubt. I have been here several times over the past few years. I used to love this place. Today, we came here at around 11 something in the morning. The patio was already packed. The place was certainly busy. We sat inside and there were only couple other tables. We decided to just order cappuccino and croissants to start our day. We waited 15 minutes for our croissants and then another 10 more minutes for our coffees. In between, we tried to remind our server that we didn't get our coffee yet. Her response was we are busy today, that's all. Well, very "friendly" service indeed. Actually the croissants and cappuccino were good. Too bad, the unfriendly service made me switched my rating for this place from 4 to 3 stars!

The Miller House Cafe-Brasserie is located in the oldest building on Lake on the Mountain. It was built circa 1796 and in 2013 it was restored and becomes a part of The Lake on the Mountain Resort. We did not intend to have lunch at The Miller House but when I saw the view and realized it has the "same" beer menu as the Inn Restaurant across the road. I was SOLD. On a Sunny weekday afternoon, the patio area was packed! But the wait staff here was really accommodating and friendly. And the VIEW!!! The menu is simple with local wine by glass or bottle and of course beers from the small brewery The Lake on the Mountain Brewery on site. Platter of Charcuterie Board for under $20 and small bites. (If you want "cooked" food, Inn across the street would be a better choice) A Flight of any 4 beers on tap ($7.95) Lager, Cream Ale, IPA and Country Brown Local Platter ($18.50) with cheese, meat and condiments from local business. Beer was OK, I had better crafted beer. The charcuterie board though really interesting and I love the different choice they have in the menu. Highly recommended if you want to have a quick bite while you are in the area.

The view from our table. It get a much better in the front.

The best part of this place is the amazing view of the river and mainland Ontario. You feel as if you're transported to somewhere in Europe. Amazing. They only have about 10 tables and only take walk ins. The food is all platters and charcuterie so if your looking for actual grin you won't get it here. However I thoroughly enjoyed my platter of smoked salmon on toast. It was quite delicious and relatively filling even though it's only 3 pieces. I also got the iced tea which was refreshing. Definitely worth the experience.

This place is a gem! If your ever in Prince Edward County, this place is a must visit! The views alone will blow your mind. Decor 5/5 The location is stunning. They have an outdoor patio with a million dollar view. Inside is not to shabby either. Service 5/5 The servers were very attentive and provided excellent service and recommendations. Food 5/5 If you fancy something a bit different. The charcuterie platters are amazing. We had "The Local" and it came with 6 year old cheddar, seed to sausage salami, salad, the bacon marmalade was crazy good! So many things to try next time we are in this area. Check it out you will love it!

Nice casual fare restaurant with an excellent waterfront patio. Menu includes charcuterie, flatbreads and nice crusty French bread. Drink options include a good selection of local wines, ciders and craft beers. Everything was delicious in a relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking view! A MUST try.

Great little spot right beside Lake on the Mountain that serves a variety of charcuterie boards, local wines/beer and provides an outstanding view of the surrounding area. Best to go for a snack and a drink rather than a full meal. It's a pretty touristy spot so if you are looking for a table (especially on the outdoor patio), be prepared to wait in line.

Absolutely love this place. Excellent food, drinks and service. And the view from the patio is picture perfect. We started with a glass of local wine and cider, followed by the charcuterie board. Make sure the try one with the bacon marmalade. (We bought a jar to take home.) Everything here is a winner. Could have stayed all night watching the sun go down.

You can't beat the view and the staff is very nice and friendly. The food is good, mainly charcuteries but as some other reviewers pointed out it is a bit over priced considering the portions. It is a great place to enjoy a drink and the view and share a snack if you are not really hungry but you won't get a culinary experience. Food: 4/5 Atmosphere and staff: 4.5/5 Price: 3.5/5 Overall: 4/5

The Local charcuterie board $19 and Traditional Tarte Flambee (flatbread) $15. Delicious and fresh!
