It'd be easier for customers (and less hassle for Patricia) if it were an online booking system. However, these cheeses are wonderful-- I've never seen any of these brands before. They currently carry Purest, a brand that's based in ON, and every Wednesday is gluten-free day; they have pizza and sandwiches that are really yummy. And, today I even scored a GF brownie - delicious. Prices definitely reflect the quality, which I won't complain about - it just makes it a more occasional stop for me.

CSA drop-offs also abound here and it sort of turns into a cool little hub of activity in the summer. Not really much by way of seating area except during the summer time when the outside area turns into a patio area. Also probably some of the best coffee in Kingston. Bueno bean is the bomb.

I want the cheeses with fun additions like truffles and pepper and meat and I also want the meat that hasn't been added to the cheese, because meat is good on its own too. All that said, the last time I came in I felt like I was bothering the staff there. I got curt, annoyed answers when I was curious about a cheese I wasn't familiar with, and we ended up leaving with about 25% of the amount of cheese I wanted to buy just because it's not fun to put together a cheese plate with people who aren't trying to help you. I hope it was an off day, because I'll be back again soon. After all, I have a cheese problem.

We had to squeeze around them since they weren't moving. Once at the cheese counter the smallish selection of cheeses were unmarked so we needed to quiz the burly guy manning the counter. He was gruff and almost rude in his attitude. Almost unhelpful. It is lucky we bought anything at all. If you wanted your purchase wrapped in cheese paper vs. plastic they charged another $1.75. Really? Definitely not the positive experiences we remembered from the past. Very Disappointing!

This amazing little Cheese Factory located in Madoc, Ontario is just a short drive from Campbellford, Marmara and Warkworth but if you're a cheese lover like me, it's not too far from anywhere. I drove all the way from Brampton, actually I was close by staying in Marmora (see my other review) but still this place was on my list of things to see. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, their selection is amazing and the cheese curds??? Ohhh lets just say they didn't make it back home to Brampton. They store is reminiscent of a time gone by, it has a very rustic feel like an old country store, I loved it. They even have ice cream and fresh hot dogs to go and I don't mean those chincy little dogs, I mean these are bigger than the buns, yes I got me one of those as well. This is not a store you want to rush in and out of. Go on in, take your time and have look around, they have all sorts of treats and neat things.
