Bought the Groupon but then couldn't make it to the Picton shop; luckily, Patricia was nice enough to let me pick it up at their Etobicoke warehouse. Great deal on six kinds of cheeses; she also included sweets, a zucchini spread, and breadsticks too! See picture for the package. The only thing I'd change is their pick-up system; you have to email Patricia to make an appointment, and then update her every time your availability changes. It'd be easier for customers (and less hassle for Patricia) if it were an online booking system. However, these cheeses are wonderful-- I've never seen any of these brands before. I visited in August 2021 and there were probably some downgrades possibly due to covid so please keep this in mind. This little shop is on the county road near the water but not on the waterfront. If you're looking for a bathroom stop, they only have an outhouse and my partner said it was a bit smelly (on a hot summer day). The taste testing and food is served outside in an open kiosk manned by friendly Filipinas. For $3 you can taste test 9 small pieces of their popular cheeses--there's regular cow's milk, buffalo and goat's milk cheeses to try. I think my favorite ones were the Crescenza, Where the Buffalos Roam and the Skipping Stone cheeses. Looking at the previous photos, looks like the cheese tasting was scaled way back due to covid so I felt that it was a bit underwhelming for the price. We were looking forward to ordering a grilled cheese sandwich from their menu for lunch at noon but they didn't have any so we opted for the cheese platter. The cheese platter IMO was a bit awkward, they gave us a takeout box with the cheese and accompaniments and two charcuterie boards for us to prep them ourselves which I found a little bit weird and slightly unnecessary. The price wasn't $17.95 as shown on the website but $21. In the box, there were 2 types of crackers, a goat cheddar, a goat cheese spread, the Buffalina cheese, another buffalo cheese and the Morning Moon (cow) along with green grapes, pistachios, almonds, dried fruits, charcuteries and preserves. The carrots in my box were mushy so I threw them out. Altogether, I think the experience was lacking a bit due to new covid measures. However, if you're visiting the area and are a cheese lover, you'll definitely get unique cheeses here. I saw some locals picking up their favorite cheeses at the counter. read more

Healthy Cheese? Made with French raw milk microbial quality standards that is also Hormone and Antibiotic free. There are also imported cheese aside from the cheese that made in house. I just could not resist but picking up some goat cheese curd to made some homemade poutine or even just sprinkle those on top of salad or pasta! The outdoor patio area is just gorgeous. You are welcome to just pick up some ready to eat cheese plate and just have a picnic at there! Definitely worth dropping by if you love Cheese. read more

This review is based on a pre-COVID visit in fall 2019 and delivery orders. Thus, I cannot speak to in-person visits during the pandemic. Fifth town cheese is located on a wide expansive field with a very unique shaped building. The interior store is extremely small, 4 people can fit in there comfortably. Pre-COVID they had lots of little samples waiting, I loved this. Nothing better than sampling cheeses before buying. They have many different options from goats milk to cows milk cheeses. I am a very big fan of their cheeses, particularly the Buffalina and cape vessey. They also had different types of charcuterie available. They also do delivery orders with a flat rate $15 shipping fee to Quebec and $10 within ontario. I ordered a cheese kit as well as some of my other favourites. I was so incredibly excited to receive it, as I live pretty far from the location. If you're in this neck of the woods, I recommend a visit. They've got amazing and highly unique cheeses at reasonable prices. If you're out of town, visit their website and try a delivery order, you won't be disappointed! read more

Visited here for the first time this week, and I loved it! Very friendly staff, willing to tell you anything and everything about their products. The cheese is absolutely delicious! The location is beautiful, and the building itself is very unique. I thought it was pretty great that you could see them making the cheese from inside the store! A little out-of-the-way for some people visiting Prince Edward County however definitely worth a trip out this way. The building itself looks beautiful and there's a large outdoor space which I believe in the warmer months would be very enjoyable. Inside the store it's actually very very small. There are many different cheeses to sample and they requested that you leave a donation of a dollar per sample. A lot of the cheeses are made with either goat or Buffalo milk, but they also do you have cows milk cheeses. In addition to cheeses that I believe they make on site, they do have cheeses from other parts of the world for purchase. They also had a selection of various salamis. The prices were at a premium level but that didn't stop me from purchasing multiples. read more

It felt like we drove to the end of the earth to get here...and it was worth it. During our one-day tour of the amazing Price Edward County area, this was my one spot not to miss....of course, since I'm a cheese addict. Upon arrival, you notice how unique this building is...it's 100% green and they created wetlands and a (very complicated) system to keep the building insulated and producing no toxic waste. You get to peer into the cheese caves, but unfortunately, cannot take a tour. I was hoping to see the goats and sheep and cows, but the milk comes from local farms instead of being on-site. Regardless, the tiny little shop is packed with goodness. You can sample all of their incredible cheeses. My favorites were the soft ripened Lost Lake and the sheep's milk Nettles Gone Wild. They are both incredibly delicious cheeses (with different flavors) and some of the best I've had in a long time. We schemed for a bit with the staff about how I could sneak them back through customs, but in the end, decided that puts the cheese at risk (I don't care about the risk to me) and just ate the whole thing outside in the sun. I will keep my eye out for their cheese--it will one day be accessible and in my fridge all the time. read more

We stopped at 5th Town Cheese as part of our 3-day tour around the county and it was easily the highlight of our trip! The cheese selection was excellent (they have a wide array of goat's, cow's and buffalo's cheeses, pestos, mustards, charcuterie etc...). We were able to try 5 cheeses, a sundried tomato pesto and cured beef charcuterie from northern Italy as part of their sampler cheese board ($15) -- all of which were delicious (and very reasonably priced). The gentleman behind the cheese counter was also very knowledgeable and friendly, offering to give us a quick tour around the site. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone touring the county, it's definitely worth the drive! read more

I'm writing this review so my fellow Yelpers know what to expect when visiting 5th Town especially during COVID. So this rating is based more on the experience of visiting their plant rather than their cheese. First, as mentioned by other reviewers, they are located quite out of the way and there is nothing else around. They do have a nice designed building and patio. The store itself is incredibly tiny and during COVID, only 2 people at a time (from the same group) can enter the store. So we had to wait a bit in the heat, but we understand it is necessary. There were two people working when we went in and unfortunately for us, we are not familiar with 5th Town's cheeses. Normally, we'd ask to try some of the cheeses before buying, but sampling was not possible (I assume because of COVID). We tried to ask questions about the cheeses to see what we'd like and perhaps learn something about it, but the one staff member was brand new and had limited knowledge. The other staff member was busy taking and making orders over the phone. It didn't help that we felt rushed because of the line-up outside. So that made our experience rather disappointing. We ended up purchasing a couple of cheeses and the one we've tried so far is not what we expected. My recommended for those visiting is to either purchase a cheese tray (so you get an assortment) or knowing exactly what you want. Also, visit on a weekday if you can, when it's less busy. read more

The owner, Patricia, was a lovely and knowledgeable woman who had created this beautiful spread of her cheese & included prosciutto and spreads she sources from family-owned businesses. She was incredibly personable and enjoyed answering all of our questions, & ensured we left with full stomachs. It's so difficult to pick a favourite, but what's even harder is trying to walk out of there with less than 5 chunks of cheese. We are returning customers here but the last time we came was before 5th company closed. We were happy it reopened and the cheese is still really good- but we found one problem which annoyed me to no end. They used to have a washroom were you could come in to wash your hands - you know hygeine and all - food , washing hands etc. Now the door says employees only and when I inquired re were to wash my hands before grabbing food I was told that they have outhouses, which btw is not as good, but even that they don't have yet. And they would not let us wash our hands which if u ask me is rather non hygenic for an establishment that serves food not to mention somewhat mean. read more
