But I was not disappointed as I knew before my visit from the commication from their website. I love lavender products so to support local business, I usually try to buy something from their on site store whenever possible. There are good selection of products for aromatherapy, culinary, decor and beauty products that made of lavender. Just smelling the fragrance made browsing the store enjoyable. Worth dropping by next time when you are wine tasting in the PEC area. This is a good pit stop and a break from all the wine sipping!

(And I am sorely sorry to those who had different experiences!) I came to learn recently that Birdy's has come under new ownership within the last year or so. As such, the menu has changed and the quality of the food has more certainly dropped. We used to go there pretty often for special occasions. Birthdays, meetings, etc. Before, the menu boasted variety and class in Belleville that could not top other restaurants. Yet in dining here again in June, 2024, I am sad to say that they have eradicated a good majority of their menu for "basic" and mundane pallets. My spouse and I used to go for their vegan options which surpassed most other places we've tried, yet were surprised to find that the stroganoff we often eat was no longer there. Half the vegan menu was erased. Instead replaced by the simplest and cheapest of curries and another dish. Two options. Two, compared to the four-five that were given before. Also very curious to claim it as a vegan dish when the kitchen nor the new owners have read the packaging on the pita bread that accompanied it. (It was not Vegan so if vegans are eating here, please beware!!) The portions were also a bit small for the extravagant prices. It was one of our favourites and I hope to see return to what it was prior to the ownership change, but it is clear that the new owners are less inclined to think about quality and more inclined to think about the profit it generates. We booked the Burdock room, which was cozy and very clean. There was a small fridge for guest use in the hallway that also had water and soda. I really appreciated how many local products were used - there's a tea station with lots of variety and all kinds of local honey, the flowers on the breakfast table were grown in PEC, the fruits and vegetables came from PEC, their neighbour makes the bread. All these little touches made it memorable, and we even sought out some of these producers to bring gifts home. In fact, we wanted to get some of the French tea she was serving and without us having to ask, she called the neighbouring B&B/store that sells it to make sure they were already open as we headed out. The breakfast was very big and very tasty! There was homemade granola (that was honestly better than the one I make...) and oven-baked tomatoes with omelette. There's a table with brochures that included free sample cards to a lot of wineries, take a look before you head out to visit them. The property also includes an outdoor pool that we didn't have time to try. The owners have a dog and a cat so be prepared in case you're allergic. Both beasts were perfectly friendly and fun to pet. We had some trouble finding the place at first, the GPS thought it's further west from the highway on Wilson Road, it's actually between Highway 62 and County Road 1, so if you're going there, be aware. I'd love to stay here again next time we're in Prince Edward County!

Silvia makes a lot of things at home such as almond milk and uses fresh local ingredients. They have a cute dog named Nanook and a cat.
