I got a puppy there 3 months ago he's doing fine, I was warned about a possible heart murmur but that has cleared up on its own and he is a happy healthy very energetic dog read more

I have several friends who have bought dogs from here and we all love our pups. Very healthy and well mannered. I've gotten a mini schnauzer and a Maltese, both gorgeous girls with no medical issues. They would not let the dogs leave until they had a health check from the vet, even though I was fine with taking them. They care about the pups and you can tell. Not sure why so many other people have had bad things to say? read more

I bought a puppy that had some serious issues and they absolutely refused to assist or honor their warranty.

PUPPY MILL buyers. Rude sketchy employees. Start to ask about where they obtain their dogs from. After the first line of "ethical local breeders" that they've been trained to say - ask a little more. One store hung up on me and the other got defensive and said I could buy a puppy somewhere else. Read the reviews and see past customers have CAUGHT them buying from puppy mills in Pennsylvania. Read this and you'll see somehow they must have paid someone off to conveniently be grandfathered in to not abiding by No Puppy Mill regulations. DON'T SUPPORT THIS MONEY HUNGRY INSENSITIVE BUSINESS and wind up with sick pets. read more

Do not buy a dog from this place. We bought a dog...this poor guy has so many allergies and now has kidney disease. This place buys animals from bad breeders. read more

I bought my beagle pup here and she's happy and healthy. The staff were helpful and answered any questions I had. The facility is clean and the dogs are kept in clean spaces. I would definitely buy another pup from here. read more

Purchased a puppy from this place 2 years ago & wanted to see the reviews for the heck of it today & I am relieved but saddened to see I'm NOT the only one whose had a horrible experience. Our family purchased a pup here & within days of being home took him to the vet & come to find out had kidney problems & also a severe urinary tract issue due to infection. read more

We purchased a Bichon Friese puppy there. At about a year in age we noticed deformities in both front legs. We consulted perfect puppy who requested that we do not give a negative rating and possibly some arrangement could be worked out. At this time we were hopeful there was possibly some treatment. The dog was diagnosed with hypochondro dysplasia Both parents must possess this recessive gene for offspring to inherit this. The breeders were contacted and offered us photographs of the parents to show lack of this deformity. Not very conclusive to me. Now our dog is 2 and whimpers in pain and will probably have to be put down at a premature age to the lack of treatment for this horrible disorder and negligence by the breeder and The Perfect Puppy in North Scituate Ri read more

Should be a no star! This store uses puppy mills. Do not support it. I went in to see if they had any labradors and a black lab had obvious hip dysplasia. read more

Bought a Boston Terrier from these jerks. It was sick. Day two was at the vet. Three more visits. I feel like if we didn't buy this dog it would've died. They don't care about their dogs. Says health guaranteed for two years. They didn't even honor that in the first 24 hours. Gave us only $35 for the vet bill. My husband wanted to return him but I said no because I wanted him to live. He is fine now and we love him so much. Stay away from these evil pieces of shit!!! read more

i got my yorkie puppy from here, he was only 9 weeks old (poor little thing) we had named him Ollie and the next day we noticed that he was weirdly coughing/sneezing. i took him to the vet and found out that the poor little guy had a really ba heart murmur (also had heartworm and kennel cough) We brought him back right after the vet visit. we managed to get onto the phone with the manager and took him right back and apoligized. i cried alot that night, i know that it was only a day with Ollie but it felt like a year. pls pray for him :( read more

Just no. This place is horrendous. Dogs are kept in filing cabinets and you are not allowed to touch them. They are all barking and crying, BEGGING you to take them out of this disgusting environment. It's heart breaking and one of the saddest sights I've ever seen. Do not go here. Do not buy a dog. Go the animal shelter and rescue one. And if you can't do that, at least go through a breeder. Just don't buy one from a pet store, especially not this one. You don't know where they are really coming from. As much as they claim they are not from puppy mills, do you think a reputable breeder would actually sell their dog to a pet store like this? No. Absolutely despicable. I wish I could go in there and take all the dogs they have out of their terrible situation. Should not even be allowed to be in business. read more

We brought our yorkie home and ended up at the animal hospital a day later he had kenel cough which according to his his papers he already was treated for kennel cough while in the pet store which says that they probably never did a follow up.We spent the next two weeks going back and forth to the vet that the owner sent us to .My 3lb puppy ended up with pneumonia. He struggled to breathe all night for days I sat up and had to run the shower 2-3 times to help him .One night he was laying in my arms while I was sitting with the shower going and he was really struggling to breathe I came out crying to my husband to take him because I couldnt watch him suffer so he called the owner and told him we were taking him back to East Greenwich animal hospital it was close to 9:00 pm we had already talked about the lemon puppy law in which he would have to reimburse us all the $ up to the amount we paid which was $1500 he wanted to drive to my house from Situate to my house in Coventry and take the puppy saying he had a specialist he would take him to .I knew he wasnt going to go out of his way to save him he just didnt want another bill I wanted to know what specialist and where he finally admitted that he was going to take him back to the store and put him in an isolated room and take him to his Vet in the morning..I was not letting him take him so not only would he be struggling to breathe but he would be alone and scared. we agreed to wait till morning and meet him there first thing. they did exrays and both lungs had fluid in them.I started to believe if he had taken him that night I wasnt going to see my puppy again! they did the exrays and changed his medication . I was still having to sit in the bathroom with the steam for almost another week. I have another dog she is the sweetest little girl but because I had not spent any time with her and we had to keep them apart because of kenal cough .so my dog hates him and hasctried to attack hin a few times we now have to take turns keeping then apart .my poor puppy is doing much beter. now we now are having trouble getting reimbursed for the hospital bill they sent us a check for $45 and wrote in the memo reimbursement fir expenses!! we didnt cash the check and called the Attorneys Generals office they said they have 90 days to pay us but we cant cash the check! We even called the breeder and informed her of the situation.she seemed nice and was very upset then we found out he biught the dog from he for $300 and sold him for $1500 and she had already had all his first shots before she sold him ..thats a lot of money that he should have used to take care of his kennel cough..so its been about a month and my little Tido is very. happy.I I strongly suggest to not ever go there they may fool you into thinking they care but its all bout $$$$ I wish there were a way to close him down.. read more

I got my dog Josie at The Perfect Puppy 3 years ago this September. It has been the best decision of my life because she is the best dog I could ever imagine. I understand people get upset when it comes to buying over adopting- but the way I look at it is, if i had not bought my dog there that day- God knows if she had been bought and she probably would have ended up at a shelter anyway. I have not had any issues with Josie other than a knee injury last summer- WHICH COULD HAPPEN TO ANY HAPPY HYPER PLAYING DOG. She's healthy- happy- AND I had a good experience at the shop when I purchased her. To each there own- I know what puppy mills are- but regardless if she came from a puppy mill or breeder- she's my puppy and if that's the case I saved her. read more

Purchased a puppy and never received it. Constantly run around from Carlos and other employees. Paid over $700 for the dog, vet visit after vet visit and the dog still was sick. Disgusting customer service and haven't received my refund. I dont recommend anyone do business with this store. Poor conditions for the puppies and even poorer employees. I feel bad for the poor puppies forced to live in those conditions. Wish an animal advocate group would step-in and create a better environment for the dogs. read more

I would like to tell you about our experience with The Perfect Puppy. My family kept checking out web sites to adopt a puppy, The sites may have puppies !! But try adopting one ! There was so much paper work and waiting for someone to contact you, we just kept looking in other places and getting the same run around. If there were less paper work and more meeting of the family, than more animals would have good homes. We were told about The Perfect Pet by friends that had a good experience there. We visited the web site and found a puppy we would like to meet. We were met on entering the store by a man named Caleb, We had a good feeling entering the store, it was very clean and also smelled clean. Caleb was very pleasant, and very knowledgeable about our new puppy. There was a room to get acquainted with your new puppy, The other dogs were in their own cubicles they were very clean and seemed happy and safe. Before leaving the store, a lady cradled our puppy in her arms and washed and groomed her. Our puppy is very healthy and happy and adds more love in our home. We would like to thank The Perfect Puppy, For caring for the dogs in their care. And for having a puppy for us, that needed a home, like every other puppy does. Sincerely, Mary Ann Titterington read more

I want to thank the whole staff there in Scituate ! We got a yorkiechon and she is the best thing in our lives. My vet said she is in perfect health and she is bringing so much joy into our home and life. She is so happy and we are too. Thank you for sending us to the groomer because she was wonderful with her too. I tried adopt a pet and petfinder with 7 different agencies. They broke my heart and were awful people to deal with. You have no idea were these pups are from or what issues they will have. Perfect puppy guarantees the dogs health and they were so wonderful. I read some of the reviews and people are such fools! When you rescue a puppy where do you think most of them come from. These adoption agencies are not good people but the staff from perfect puppy we can't thank enough. read more

Buyer beware! These people deal in the underbelly of puppy mill trade! Be warned! Several people have purchased extremely ill puppies from this place. There are pictures posted and comments from someone that recently purchased a dog that was okayed to leave the store 24 hours before purchase and when the owner noticed the dog was sick within 12 hours the dog was in the emergency vet in intensive care with pneumonia and on top of that ear mites! This is the Rhode Island state veterinarian that decided this pup was cleared to leave the store! Please do not be a victim or fall trap to these people! Scott bergantino Ryan bergantino Brian bergantino Carlos bergantino look out for them Google these names before you go into the store. If you do get a sick dog and complain about it the owner will call and harass you! They will like you about where you got your dog but the vet records will show it came straight from a puppy mill! We went to this place and there was a golden doodle with stitches under its eyes also there was a Boston terrier that looked sick.. I do not recommend you buy anything from this place. Golden doodles hair looks mated. People are so rude. Dogs aren't taken care of. read more

I had read all the reviews before heading to the Scituate location. To be honest, I figured I wouldn't be making a purchase because of these reviews but they had several dogs to look at in the breed I was most interested in. To be honest folks, I am 68 years old and I remember when just about every pet store sold dogs and cats. The cages back then were incredibly small. The fact is, nearly all thoroughbred dogs come from puppy mills that we'd rather call breeders. That's why you make an appointment to see breeder dogs. They clean things up and you never see the bowels of the operation. That's a fact. My experience at Perfect Puppy was excellent. After petting dogs in one pen, I was not allowed to pet others. Makes perfect sense to me. One dog I was very interested in had not had their stool examined by the vet so it was off limits for me to purchase. I asked a million hard questions regarding the care and treatment of these animals. I was satisfied with the answers and knowledge of the staff. The animals are in solid-walled pens but much larger than I expected after reading the reviews. I ended up purchasing a different breed and the vet says he is extremely healthy. In my mind, a place that feeds their animals $50 a bag dog food can't be all bad. I'm sure many out there, after purchasing the pet, will switch to a cheaper food ASAP. And do we ever know if the humans purchasing these dogs are actually taking them to a "better" home? As for me, I was very satisfied with the experience. I am always concerned with the mistreatment of any animal or human. I saw nothing of the kind taking place. A store selling various breeds of dogs is never going to have the accommodations that the animal will have once they have a permanent home. I hope all of you who complained have the same compassion and concern for the thousands of homeless people we have sleeping outside every night. Let's all remember where we all are on the food chain and address what's really important in this world of ours. read more

This is the best place to buy a dog in the state, the owners love dogs and treat every customer like family !

I bought a puppy Neapolitan mastiff puppy from Perfect Puppy December 2018. Today we had to put our 14 month old puppy to sleep. We went to Ocean State and they she had a neurological disorder . She could not walk and was not eating. Before we took our puppy home from Perfect Puppy they kept her over a month saying they were treating her from kennel cough. They knew she was not sound. Please don't buy from them. You will get your heart broken. read more

I purchased my beagle from here. She was ten months old. The night I took her home she was coughing so bad and had no energy. I called the Perfect puppy the next day and they sent me to their vet and paid for the bill, which was nice, but my little puppy had a respiratory infection. After a week on medication she got better (though she had to stay on meds for a month). Shes a beautiful little 2 year old girl now and I love her to pieces. But it concerns me that she was so ill and no one noticed that when she laid down she would cough through the night. Also she was penned with a bunch of other beagles. Which could have infected the others. However, the owners were very kind and Im sure they had a few hiccups when they started the business. They have sinced moved and Id like to think they have ironed out any problems like this by now. read more

was supposed to be contacted when a certain puppy came in had left my name in number with who ever answered the phone.i even sent a follow up email a few days letter with no reply and come to find out the puppy I was interested in came in sat for a while then was sold without anyone contacting me as they promised and it must have been faith that they didn't contact me. It was my own fault for not checking Yelp before going to this store. The reviews I have read from across the board from Facebook, Google and Yelp of course are out right terrible and disgusting I feel so bad for all these poor little innocent animals places like this one should be closed immediately and I guess he has another location in West Warwick and the stories of pure animal neglect is just as bad plastered by horrendous reviews across the Internet. do not support this absolute waste of a human beings Buisness. You Sir You Suck! And thank you again for not calling me back you $&@&?! read more

We bought a German Shepard here about a year and a half ago. Not long after the store opened and way before all the negativity came about the store. Our German Shepard is 2 now and is going to need two hip replacements. When we went back to the Perfect Puppy and asked them what they were going to do about it, if they would pay for any of the vet bills of her surgery, they said no. They would give us half of our money back or we could get a full refund if we returned our dog. AKA she would go to a pound or be put down. Because what person would want a year old German Shepard with hip problems. On top of having hip problems at the age of two, she has serve psychological problems that are the affect of inbreeding. This place should be shut down. No remorse for these sick dogs they are selling to families. If i was looking to buy a puppy now I would never buy one from here again. read more

I was very pleased with the perfect puppy I purchased a beautiful Australian Shepherd and took her home. she is well behaved and in great health. She and my 2 year old daughter are already the best of friends. I noticed that all the dogs at perfect puppy were very loving and gentle Right down to the beautiful Rottweiler who' s demeanor was sweat and loving. they are wonderful dogs. If you are looking for a full bread dog I would suggest going by and checking the place out. They are definitely animal lovers and they take good care of these dogs. I am an animal activist with very high opinions on how animals should be treated and I was not alarmed at all for these dogs the only thing is getting them homes and that is on us people who are supposed to love and nurture these divine fuzzy babies. So Take it from someone who went there purchased a dog and is an animal guardian for life they are legit. read more

I bought a puppy from the Warwick location a week ago, he had an ear infection the first 4 days and now i found out he has kennel cough after going to the vet at 3 in the morning. I'm hoping nothing else happens and this kennel cough clears up. I'm so so sad my family and I love this puppy so much already. I've yet to call them but as soon as they open I'm going to be contacting them and hopefully there's something they can do considering they do have a 2 year health guarantee on their puppies, and the puppy lemon laws in RI. It's just so upsetting seeing my puppy like this. He isn't himself, very lethargic, I've noticed giving him teaspoons of honey really helps his dry throat as well as a humidifier, but it doesn't matter because I would hope I wasn't sold a sick puppy. I should have done my research before going in and falling in love with my puppy. I will post again once I call them up and see what they can do. read more

I had a horrible experience. I went with my daughter to see if they had any pugs and fell in love with a english bulldog that was already 3 months old and extremely overpriced at 2900 I had a issue with the computer at the store with my personal email so the girl proceeded to use my phone to complete the paperwork soon I went on my happy way, I returned home only to find that my golden was getting aggressive with the puppy, the pet store was closed so I brought the puppy to my daughters for the night. I called and explained my circumstances and they said I could return the puppy and I would only be charged 50%..Mind you I had this puppy less than 48 hrs.Wags on the other hand was amazing and understood how heartbroken I was to have to return the puppy and would not charge me but I would have to take up the additional amount with perfect puppy. I emailed and did not even get a response. So I am out 800.00 for a puppy that was returned for his safety and they will sell again for a grossly over priced amount....My advice stay clear of this place they are new and not easy to work with...The dogs are extremely overpriced .....Buyers Beware read more
