I hate leaving negative reviews but this experience wasn't a particularly good one. I've been trying to try more coffee shops in Rockingham County and The Parlor was next up on my list. When I walked in mid morning on Saturday, you could hear a pin drop. There's no background music or noise, just silence. I made my way to the counter (the girl working the register was super nice) and asked for a recommendation on their specialty menu where they said they hadn't tried the drink I wanted to order. I ordered it anyways and while waiting for them to make it, I could hear the two girls working talking about how they were unsure on how to make my drink (remember it was completely silent so anything they were saying I could hear). When they brought me my coffee it looked like milk. I took it to go and once in my car, I took a sip and yep, sugar milk. I'm not even positive they put an ounce of coffee in there at all. Needless to say they, in fact, did not know how to make my drink. I took a couple of sips, gave up, and threw it away. With The Mad Bean, who has outstanding coffee, being directly across the street from The Parlor, I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon. Hopefully the staff can get some training on how to make their coffee drinks. read more

Wont be going back, the food is a mixture of things from Sam's Club, Walmart and I'm sure others. The service is okay with some workers but others are not so great. I get a headache every time I walk in due to the strong perfume smells/candles. read more

Four stars now but I expect next time to up to 5. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat My wife and I split the grilled chicken panini and it was good but to me it seemed like the chicken was purchased and not cooked on site. I could be wrong it just reminded me of the chicken that you would get in the bag at a store. The store is very well set up very inviting very clean the staff was extremely helpful and nice and I'm sure we will be back. I have not tried the coffee yet but look forward to that and getting something off the lunch menu or even the breakfast menu the next time. I think their menu changes frequently and in talking to the cashier they have fresh pastries probably almost every day. read more

I always try to support local businesses in my small town and let me just say The Parlor is amazing!! Ever since they opened I have went in there almost every day throughout the week... wish they were open on sundays lol but that's not the point. I always feel welcomed when I step in. Nikki & Decora are amazing, kind, sweet, and very caring!! The environment is very cozy. They do amazing at engaging with customers & making the drinks!! I always get the same coffee everytime and it's always SO SO GOOD!!! I'm so glad they opened this little coffee shop just a few minutes from me! (it's become an addiction) 10/10 recommend The Parlor. Perfect addition for downtown Madison, to my understanding they had old partnership which since switching over to single ownership things have tightened up and improved after going through the transition! The baristas are super friendly and helpful, the drinks are made well and they use quality ingredients. Very community focused bringing in fresh baked goods and fresh food from other local small business in town! The store is welcoming, warm and always has a quiet radio playing in the background! read more

The baristas are awesome and the coffee is absolutely top notch. I had the chicken panini and it tasted like the chicken you buy in a bag at the store, possibly frozen. The only down side is you could hear the older women that owns it talking bad about customers and employees. She'll also follow you out of the door trying to hold a conversation while you're trying to leave. Like hello? Please let me come and get what I came for so I can go on about my day. read more

Not from NC just riding through from vacation. The coffee was okay. The food didn't taste fresh like the owner says it is. You could here the microwave they're using to heat/cook food up. That's gross. She said her name was Heather and at her old age boy does she need to learn social ques.
