    Cruffins (and one cinnamon roll)
    Sarah G.

Wow. Honestly I'm a bit at a loss for words at how good the pastries here are. I had heard rumors that cruffins are great and I don't know if all cruffins are as good as they are here, but they're crunchy on the outside, gooey and delightful on the inside and just truthfully so good I often find myself thinking about them. Aside from how great the pastries are, this mom and pop is owned by the sweetest folks. You'll likely even end up chatting with the owner if you come in one afternoon. Pro tip: This little shop off the beaten path is only open on the weekends so be sure to pop in on Saturday or Sunday. Come early if you want a cruffin as they sell out literally every day.

Packaged treats to take on the go. Chiefs cupcakes!

I enjoyed a tasty Cosmic Brownie from The Pantry this weekend. What a gourmet take on a classic American junk food. It was a generously sized fudge brownie with a slick chocolate glaze and sprinkles. The Pantry has a wide variety of single-serve pastries on display and packaged goodies to take to go. They also take custom orders. The Pantry also has a few other local items, such as honey and soy candles. I will definitely look into ordering from The Pantry the next time I need some tasty treats.

Well Lenexa you have a great bakery @thepantrykc , jealous it is not in walking distance of me! They are open Saturday and Sunday to the public from 8-3. They owner is kind and so passionate about her goodies. I had the cream cheese raspberry cruffin and OMG so good. The sugar on the outside, the layers of buttery dough, and the cream cheese. Great Saturday treat. Also got the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The egg was runny, the thick bacon was crispy but not over cooked, and the CROISSANT!!! It is everything I want in a breakfast sandwich. I wanted to try everything so I will be back for cookies and scones with English clotted cream.

The Millionaire's Shortbread is DELECTABLE! Not to be missed!thank you, Dee!

One of our favorite local, woman-owned businesses! I am partial to Dee's cheesecake and cookies, but you can't go wrong with anything she serves!

A friend and I are on a quest to try all of the amazing pastries that KC has to offer, one patisserie at a time. The Pantry KC is the real deal. Beautifully made, delicious European pastries and desserts that have been our favorite so far in our journey. The cruffins are the absolute perfect blend of flaky/soft with several options of fruity creme in the center. I also picked up 3 flavors of scones, all of which are delicious. (Browned butter peach, Blueberry, and my favorite, the butterscotch) The shop is very clean and adorably decorated. They have a small seating section if you choose to stay and eat, but most people opted to pick up and take home. Highly recommend!

Nice little bakery tucked away in a strip mall on the east side of Quivera Rd near 80th St. I walked in and was warmly greeted by an employee and later on the owner came from the back and gave a quick run down of everything they had on the counter by the register. I ordered 3 Cruffins (Muffins with filling made out of Croissant dough). I got 1 apple filling and two of the regular crème filling which has a hint of either lemon or orange zest in it. I also ordered a blueberry scone with the clotted cream. After getting home I tasted the Cruffins and where have they been all my life? Flakey, sweet, delicious. I also tried the scone with the clotted cream, it wasn't my thing. I thought the clotted cream would add some sweetness but it was not to be. Still giving this place a 5, due to how much I loved the Cruffins, and how well I was treated while I was there. I will def be back to have more Cruffins and maybe check out some cheese cakes, and some of the other items up at the counter. This one is a keeper!

Definitely not a new business, but The Pantry is our family's newest obsession. This boutique bakery specializes in unique desserts and pastries, inspired by a contemporary twist on European traditions. Pantry is woman owned and operated, and Chef draws on her Wales roots to create some of the most delicious treats I've ever had! Every weekend (yes, Saturday and Sunday ONLY), each classic treat is handmade in small batches with locally sourced ingredients to ensure the freshest of the fresh. From our fam fave Scones with house made clotted cream (if you see the funfetti, GRAB IT!), to Cinnamon Rolls, to Cookies, to my personal fave Cruffins, to Cupcakes, to Bread Pudding, and so much more, everyone is sure to find something they love. And the word is officially out, so she's known to sell out! If you want to make sure you get the goods, you can place a preorder at any time throughout the week. So go, go now, go often!

    Open Saturdays & Sundays 8:00-3:00!

I was frequenting one of my local consignment food stores, when I came upon a small box of shortbread cookies. I love shortbread, something passed down from my father, who got it from his grandmother, who apparently baked the world's best shortbread cookie. Well, generations pass, and titles of 'world's best' should be passed along with them. The recipient of that title may very well be Dee and her partner at The Pantry KC. Shortbread cookies may not be for the dieters, but everything in moderation, as the Greeks might say. I just *had* to find out who made these delights. Come to find out, The Pantry KC is just right down the street from me. However, business is only open on the weekends, so I had to make sure I made time to frequent the shop. And was I ever glad that we made that first visit! The Pantry KC has a shop small on space but huge on talent. Baked goods lay in front of you, ranging from the simple shortbread to the more complex croissants and other pastries. There is even an ever-growing selection of gluten-free and keto-friendly options! Talk about inclusive! Russian tea cookies? Check. Muffins, baked fresh with differing fruits? Double-check. Quiche, bread pudding, banana bread, and more! All of these delights handmade by the skilled hands of the exceptionally personable Dee and her partner. Aside from the shortbread, some of our favorites have been the 'cruffin', a collision of croissant and muffin, fruit and savory croissants, small cheesecakes (if we got a whole one, then we would just eat it), and the Victoria. The latter of those sounds/looms like a Twinkie for grown-ups (sponge cake and butter cream, with raspberry marm), but that's slighting the magic of this confection. The Victoria is big enough to split but easily hogged by oneself, without shame or feeling. It's yet another example of this business's baking skills. Stop by on Saturdays or Sundays, and check them out on social via Insta/FaceBook. If you don't mind sweets and your waistline can stand the challenge, The Pantry KC will have several options to please your palate!

I've bought quite a few pastries from this place these last few months, and I have to say: the black currant scone with clotted cream is worth whatever medical condition surely awaits me in the future. It was like eating a crunch cloud, spread upon with lighter-than-air butter in a white void of comfortable sounds. I love it. The character of it is defined, yet subtly elusive. Dee - I believe the owner - knows what she's doing, proper. She's from the UK, so that helps. I once tried the blueberry maple scone, and I've had a vanilla cheesecake, and they're great, delicate and typical of supreme baked goods, but the currant scone! It's an orchestra of sweet acid, a hint of lemon brightens while sweetness from the most subtle glaze smooths every sharp corner out like a slow jazz band at midnight. The clotted cream is such a delicately smooth balance, jiving with the crusty textures of the scone. The black currant is akin to a smokey tart raisin, somehow they minipulated the moisture and fluff of the scone's interior to replicate the delicate crumb found only in a krispy kreme donut, while the outside has a divine and thin degree of crunch only found in a food laboratory. Their scones are magnificence, and an elegance of gluten manipulation of the highest magnitude. I could literally eat 16 of those scones. 4 bucks a piece...worth it. Trust me. They're worth it. I'd pay and eat $65 worth of their scones in a second. Witchcraft I'm sure.

This was the best pastry experience I've ever had! The Cruffin was life changing. What a combination. They feature it with apple filling, raspberry and cream cheese. I got both raspberry and cream cheese. It was a crunchy exterior and soft on the inside. The cream cheese had orange zest. It was delicious. I will be back! It was so moved by the crufffin I had to fight turning around and going back. I high the recommend, 10 out if 10.

Cinnamon roll, scone, cruffin... also known as heaven.

Was able to stop in here thanks to a Yelp event and wow wow wow. This fantastic spot offers guests a large selection of morning sweets and eats. If I had the time and large enough appetite I would have sampled everything. For this particular trip we indulged in a raspberry cruffin, one of their cinnamon rolls, a scone, and a brownie while we ate there. All of them were some of the best we've had. Their selection spans much farther than your usual morning breakfast pastry shop. Take the time to explore this gem and grab some goodies for all your friends.

Good coffee, even better pastries. The key lime cheesecake is decadent and the preserves and cream cheese cruffin I got was delicious. I'd like to come back and try their breakfast croissants and burritos.

Service was fabulous. Food was amazing. It's a cute bakery with a lovely owner who is passionate about her products. I love that the ingredients are high quality (all butter, no shortening) and there is such creativity in each baked item. Go here (only open on the weekends) and enjoy everything!
