The Yelp online waiting list is what first drew us, but it didn't look like there was an ipad connected where you were supposed to check in. The inside seating is SMALL... probably about 6 small tables, with 2 servers. It was cold and windy outside but we lucked out getting a seat inside even without the waitlist and did not have to wait long. If you are lucky to get a seat without waiting, there is most definitely still a wait for the food as they say it is all cooked to order. Stuffed French toast was not "stuffed" as other reviewers stated, but it was layered with cream cheese and strawberry yumminess. The pastrami egg sandwich was a decent sized portion and since we were waiting for our food to arrive and were hungry, we ate every bite of our food. Pretty much licked our plates. I originally had a breakfast meeting scheduled here. However, when my business associate met here we discovered The Pan does not open until 9:30: We had to improvise and go to nearby Kings Hawaiian. I wasn't planning on coming back until the SBE (South Bay Expert) Steve S, recommended this place. I remember him saying pastrami and pizza, some of my fave words that begin w/ P (besides my last name - LOL!). The Pan is located on Western and 166th in Gardena. They specialize in breakfast, pizzas, and sandwiches. I ordered the hot wings ($4.75/5 wings) and pastrami & eggs sandwich ($9 - Pastrami, two eggs, hash browns, on grilled rye). I would have ordered French fries, but I did not see them a la carte. To begin with, the wings were OK. They had sufficient meat on them but they were not above average. However, a major downside was one of the wings was ridiculously small. I asked for a replacement: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the combination of ingredients for the sandwich was genius. There is something about meat, eggs, and hash browns all in one sandwich. The only reason why I did not give the sandwich a 5, is because there wasn't much pastrami in my opinion, and the eggs were over medium vs over easy as requested: 4 Stars. The ambiance is kinda quaint, but the seats are fairly close together. I was originally going to be seated next to a couple, who were hogging additional space with the lady's massive purse - Why do women carry such large things?! I asked to be seated outside: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the service was mixed. The host tried to seat me in a tight space next to the other couple. Secondarily, after I was seated, he proceeded to clean the table next to me with spray cleaner: 2 Stars for him. The waiter was an improvement. He was pleasant, and when I asked for a replacement on the poor excuse for wing, he was totally accommodating: 3 Stars. Lastly, the kitchen was a disappointment. First of all, they should not have sent out a bogus wing like they did. Secondarily, the food took a long time to arrive, as did the replacement wing: 2 Stars. A lot of people like this place, but I can't say I am a fan of The Pan. For one thing, they specialize in breakfast, but they don't open until 9:30. Secondarily, it took over 10 minutes to be seated, although a table was available. Lastly, the food is served at a leisurely pace (20 minutes). They seated us at the "new section", an outdoor extension with a canopy. Tip: Bring a jacket! I wouldn't suggest sitting there because it's quite dangerous. Let me explain. There are no "real" barriers or poles separating the canopy from cars pulling in and out. While we were there, four different cars parked in front. They were inches from our table and if they pulled any closer, his bootie would've been tapped! I wanted to stand up and tell the driver, STOP, you're too close!! I'm not sure if it's a parking spot but if any of their brakes went out, we would've been DEAD! It was kind of nerve wrecking. Food: *Original loaded hash browns ($9.25)- this was pretty good! Then another 15 mins go by and still no bill so decided to walk over to see what's going on. They told us they were working on it...Um Okay! When we first arrived here we were told that there was a 30 minute wait. Ten minutes later they called us to our table. The waitress was very nice and answered all of the questions that we had about the items on the menu as it was our first time coming here. The food here is amazing we ordered the pepperoni deep dish pizza, and the loaded has browns. Everything tasted the way I expected it to. I have not had a more amazing experience in a long time than I had at The Pan! I was meeting up with two great friends for breakfast and as usual, they recommended a great place for breakfast! The drive was a breeze and I found parking the moment I drove in. There is an option for patio seating but given the recent heavy fog, I chose to seat indoor. I was welcomed in by Stephanie and with luck grabbed the last open table. Stephanie was our waitress and she was beyond incredible! She definitely knows what she is doing and loves what she does. I handed her my credit card a few minutes after being seated so there would not be that awkward "I will pay" fight with my friends. During my entire meal, Stephanie checked on my girls and I every once in a while without being a bother. She was friendly and sweet. She made my experience so delightful! Even after we were done with our meal she was still asking if we needed more water and what not. She is great! The food was uber delicious! I got the Veggie Omelette with the Banana Pancakes. The omelette was flavorful along side the country style potatoes. They had Tapatio, which is a plus! They have little mason jars for drinking glasses and city mugs for their tea and coffee. The Pan is a cute, comfortable, clean, mom&pops kind of place that has great service! The size of the place looks small from the outside and they have about 8 tables inside but space was not an issue! I did not feel cramped! Their bathroom is also well kept and clean. Usually there is a crowd of people waiting to get in and there are people in the car waiting. On a Satuday afternoon at about 2PM, we passed by and it seemed OK to check it out as there were only a few people waiting. We were seated immediately at a table for two indoors. Fortunate us! Back to my Cajun meatloaf burger. Please refer to the photo of the cheese and house sauce over the beef and lovely ciabatta buns. We were informed that they get the buns from Giulano's. Very good and scrumptious! Well pleased with the chili cheese fries as well. The sweetie and I had identical meals and were wowed by them. Amazing flavors here! I came here for dinner and we were immediately seated (phew!) to my surprise since I heard about the long lines. Pretty lucky! We ordered the Loaded Hash Browns, which I had scrambled eggs, sausage, green onions, jack and cheddar cheese, sausage, topped with chili aioli (reminds me of Thousand Island) with your choice of toast. If you want to order a buttermilk pancake, you add 50 cents BUT if you want a specialty pancake, you just add $1. What a great deal! We also ordered Yoshi's Philly, which comes with sliced steak, grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was pretty good and the parmesan fries were delicious. I usually always get their loaded hash browns. OOOO lemme tell you, they are BOMB DOT COM. I can eat this any time of the day. Also, it comes with toast :) I usually get the eggs over medium, but you can get the eggs however you want. It's a pretty heavy and filling meal. I recommend sharing! I've been to the Pan in the past and loved the brunch food - the pancakes are still some of the best I've had but my recent visit at a new outlet has left me looking for another breakfast place altogether. I arrived just before 10, was seated by 10:20 (I had put my name on the list at 9:30 - place was busy but any time I've been to a good breakfast place there's always a little wait so that was fine with me We put in our orders super quickly but finally got our food at 11:40 - an hour and ten mins later because apparently they got slammed with take out orders. You can comp my coffee all you want - yes the pancakes were great but not 1:10 long wait type of great. The parking situation is also abysmal - it's not in the greatest part of town and instead of the tiny outdoor lot they used to have - they now only have a few lots with the rest converted to outdoor dining. I get that COVID has meant more people feel comfortable dining outdoors BUT make sure you have the kitchen AND available parking capacity to handle increased crowds first. You're doing a disservice to those who come out to eat, as well as those who work for you. We weren't the only ones who were upset with the ridiculous wait. HARD PASS. read more

The Pan has always been our go-to place for brunch and has delicious food. However, while other restaurants have made it easier for takeout and delivery during Covid, the Pan has made it harder for customers. They never answer the phone. We have called over 10 times the past few weekends and can never speak to a human on the phone. On their outgoing voicemail, they say they are available via Grubhub and Postmates, but those places don't have this location. If you go directly to the website, it takes you to chow now. On chow now, it will tell you that you can place a pickup order or a curbside order. We have done that because you cannot actually call them and place an order, as they don't answer the phone. So we drive all the way over, place a pickup order and are told just before placing the order that it's 20 mins. So we figure, let's just wait in the car. When the order is paid for and placed, it changes to 50 minutes. When we walk in there at 50 minutes, they tell us that it's going to be another 10-15 mins. This has happened twice. Today, we tried to prepare for it this time. At noon, we thought, okay, let's place an order and drive over there to pick it up in 50 minutes. I looked again on grub hub and Postmates and they were not listed. So I went to the website and it took me to chow now again, then it told me they aren't open until 2pm. I called the place again and no answer. Just that they are open from 9am to 9pm. We ordered from another restaurant, because it is just too difficult to deal with this place. When we are sitting in the car for an hour waiting for food, I've noticed that there are loads of people on Saturdays standing outside of the restaurant waiting for tables. They are not distancing. They are wearing masks, however. But they aren't really monitoring people waiting. The parking lot is also a mess. I understand that this is a different climate we are in and things have gotten difficult, but sooo many other places have made the takeout and delivery process so much easier. We had the loaded hashbrowns and the waffle and chicken. Both were delicious (of course we shared!). The hash browns were crunchy and decadent with the sausage, bacon and cheese topped with two perfect eggs and a salsa cream sauce.
