A couple of friends who are vegan came along and they had plenty of options too, which made it easy for everyone to enjoy. The vibe was busy but not overwhelming--we just missed the weekend lunch rush, so timing helped. It's counter service, so you order up front and they bring the food out to your table. Simple setup, good energy, and the food came out pretty quick. Overall, it's a solid spot if you want something flavorful and healthy without a lot of fuss.

There was no place to check in for a table and there weren't separate lines for eat in and carry out. I got there first and didn't want to order before my friend got there. I saw an empty table so I sat down to wait. I was nicely told by one of the workers who was carrying around table numbers that I needed to be assigned a table number first. It was unclear when or how to get assigned a number, maybe when you order? Although the line moved pretty quickly it kept growing so when my friend arrived I ended up ordering online. Then I had to ask for a table. I wish they had clear signage or some way to inform about the process. I had the flying avocado turkey wrap which was fresh and delicious, although I didn't taste any avocado. Also ordered the green chili queso with chips which was great. I placed another order to go to take the Cajun shrimp boil home for dinner. It was good, too, although I should have had the hot dish for lunch and taken home the cold wrap. I'd like to try the avocado toast. Next time I will stand in line and order.

Today, I was blessed to find my favorite spot at the bar open. This is a great vantage point to witness how a well run restaurant functions. The bar space is quite tight, but the servers and baristas (notably, the always excellent Lynne) move elegantly between each other as if in a choreographed dance. The Lindbergh Tartine was on point today with delicious sausage gravy over house-made sourdough, two sunny side up eggs and the always fantastic crispy potatoes. Soooo gooood! The pleasing decor, cute bistro-style tables and live plants makes this spot feel so warm. After coming here multiple times, I sometimes look for small improvements that I might suggest, but I'm consistently unsuccessful! With that said, I do think it's time to put some purse hooks up under the bar seating....still getting a solid 5-Star review! Come to Ivy Cafe and see for yourself!

I saw several people inside enjoying sandwiches and soup and salad. All looked amazing. I love a cute boutique sandwich and bakery. As I was in a hurry, I quickly grabbed a delicious and large yogurt parfait loaded with strawberries and blueberries with fresh granola and snagged two cookies: s'mores and cookies and cream. Everything was delicious. The cookies and cream was a chocolate chip cookies with Oreos and it was probably the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and it was open and airy and light inside. Definitely a place I plan to have lunch our next time in town!

I planned to order online and do a pickup but the Green with Envy sandwich I wanted is not listed on their online order menu so I had to go in person. I stood in line for about 20 minutes which was expected, I know how busy it gets. When you get to the front to order it is chaos. Someone comes and asks what you want and then just yells it to the rest of the team. Both myself and the person in front of me got to the register and our food was not even started because they couldn't keep up with the orders and nothing was written down. Just very disorganized considering how popular it is. It was decorated nicely for Christmas but that didn't distract from the service. The green with envy is delicious but it didn't travel well; it pretty much melted and fell apart by the time I got home. I also ordered a Greek goddess salad which was nothing special. The ginger cookie was delicious and a nice size. Hopefully some changes are made to make this place run better because otherwise it just really isn't worth the trouble.

I noticed they had more than smoothies, and my eyes immediately went to the juice case. They have quite the selection of pressed juices, shots, protein balls, and other things. After scanning the menu, I got the peanut butter and banana toast, nirvana pressed juice, and birthday cake protein balls. She asked if I was a member of Orange Theory and I said, "no." They have a special partnership with them that I think includes a certain percentage off, so maybe I should become a member! I drank the juice first and tried one of the protein balls while I was waiting on my toast. The juice was refreshing and on the sweeter side, which is what I wanted. The protein ball was good, but the after taste was a little odd. Perhaps it was the flavor? It was recommended by person working. Although I'm not writing it off entirely, I may have better luck with the other flavors (cookie dough, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, and red velvet). It didn't take long before my toast was ready and I was on my way. I managed to sneak a few bites in before I made it home and they more than exceeded my expectations. For the record, any place that uses Union Loafers bread can do no wrong in my book. The toast was quite savory and I def enjoyed it more with each bite. Fyi, they lay the pb on pretty thick, so make sure you chew thoroughly! All in all, a solid protein packed meal all around. I hate that I got full after one piece, so let's hope I can finish the other piece later!

After you deal with the parking, which can be a bit inconvenient as it's in a crowded intersection and parking lot - though I noticed neon banana has a few dedicated parking spots for 5 minute parking which helps! - you find the cute little locally-owned shop amongst the strip mall. What I first noticed & loved was the vibe and concept of the shop! The literal bananas around are fun & def has a mildly-funky-but-still-upscale vibe. I knew to expect juices and smoothies but was pleasantly surprised to find a few other food items like bread, broth, protein balls, overnight oats, and more. I tend to be basic with my tastes so I was hesitant to try some of their smoothies with elaborate ingredients. I chatted with the friendly cashier/smoothie extraordinaire & I said I was leaning towards the regular strawberry but wanted to try something a little out of my comfort zone, but not too far out. She recommended the neon banana (COCONUT WATER, ORANGE JUICE, BANANA, PINEAPPLE, MANGO, BLUE MAJIK (BLUE SPIRULINA/COCONUT WATER). I'm so glad I tried - it's delicious! They're also willing to customize. When I mentioned I don't love coconut, she said she could take out the coconut water. The blue spirulina wasn't my fave but the flavor & the rest of the smoothie was amaze, would def get again. The cons: It is pricey, this particular 16oz smoothie being $10.95. Also, the hours are somewhat limited, closing most days at 4:30. However - I don't know of too many locally owned smoothie cafes so I think the juice is worth the squeeze on this one ;) I could see myself coming back for a late morning or early afternoon snack, for sure getting the neon banana again or trying some of the other flavors. I'd probably avoid busy times of day like lunch or commute times. It would probably be a once in awhile splurge place, but would love to make it back again!
