I came here with my mom last Wednesday after we won a Paint Bar gift certificate from a silent auction for one of our favorite local nonprofits, Girl Scouts! So thank you to Paint Bar first of all for supporting a great cause. My mom and I picked this class since you get one free glass of wine for 21+ attendees on Wednesday (#WineWednesday). We got aprons to wear and we set up our palettes based on the number of pumps of each shade of paint listed. We could see and hear the instructor clearly. It was relatively easy to follow along, however sometimes I felt a bit rushed filling in some of the larger portions of the painting. I almost wish we had either a slightly smaller canvas or a little bit more time, so I didn't have to hustle quickly to fill in the background before we moved on. Overall, a very fun experience to try!

I wanted to come here for date night, but the new guy I was seeing said painting wasn't his thing... that relationship didn't last long. I then decided to ask my good friend to go with me and she was as excited as I was about the whole thing. We went on a Friday night and we were the first ones there. We were immediately greeted by the instructor - I apologize I don't remember her name. She was so friendly and explained how paint night worked. Because we were the first one there we got to choose where to sit. About 10 minutes later, more people started showing up... couples, singles, families. It was great to see everybody so excited and wanting to learn something fun. The instructor was wonderful! She went through each step not once, but twice, and she went around the room to ask if anyone needed help. She played great music that made the experience even better. They do sell wine, beer, water, and snacks. I got a beer which was $6.00. People around us drank wine. They even raffled off a bottle of wine at the end of the night to those who "liked" them on Facebook or other social media outlets. By the way, the prices at this location is actually a little bit less than their Boston location which I've also been to.

Some people choose yoga for therapy, we choose painting with wine. This place is as good as it gets. The instructor (Jackie!) is hilarious and completely calls out the type-A personalities (me) who look into painting techniques before they arrive. Within mintues you're completely relaxed, boozed up, and painting away - not caring if your clouds are a little messy or you sea water is too green. Perfect for a night out with roommates, a date, family bonding.. anything really! Sign up fast, it fills up months in advance. Can't wait to try other paintings later this summer. Beers - $6 (Sam Summer!) Wine - $9 (good Pinot G) Painting/drinking at Paint Bar - JUST DO IT!

My sister and I are artist now :)

My sister took me to The Paint Bar today as a suprise early birthday gift since I'm going to be the dirty thirty and I wasn't sure where she was taking me or what we're going to do. I arrived, and there was a lot of cool art, great music was on and a wine bar right by the entrance. Yes, I was excited. I'm always up for something new. I was a tad bit nervous because i'm a virgin when it comes to painting. I have to say that the artist did an excellent job guiding and navigating us amatures into Van Gogh himself. By the end of the day, I felt so proud of my art work and I had such an awesome experience. I will most definitely go again and introduce my other friends to this place. It's brings out the creative side of me.

What can I say?? This place has been the best thing to come to the Boston area!! I am so happy to have discovered the Paint Bar!!! Everyone who I have met there at a paint night has been nothing but SPECTACULAR! They are a great bunch and have wonderful attitudes! Most of the time when I have attended a "Paint Night" we have a different person teach the class, but for a few of them we have attended, we have had Kelly lead the class. About a week ago, my girlfriend and I attended the "Moonlight Boston" paint night and we wanted to make it a double so we wouldn't have duplicates of everything!!! Kelly was more than happy to help us and made our painting into our favorite one yet! I love attending these paint nights because they are just so relaxing and fun! The other best part of this place is the drink selection! I highly recommend the sangria because it is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! They are reasonably priced too! Another plus to Paint Bar would be the generous fundraisers! This is how I found out about Paint Bar because I attended my friends fundraiser! So all in all, this place is great for Girls Night, Date Night and Mom & Daughter night! Heck, it is great for any occasion and the possibilities for your paintings are ENDLESS! #love2paint #paintbarnewton #paintbarnewbury #drinkandpaint #somuchfun

Awesome time!! I am not that artistic at all. Crafty and DIY, yes. But artsy? No. Jackie made the whole painting experience great. I felt like a real artist! Her directions were clear, direct, and easy to follow. Plus the tunes were super fun. Jackie and her mom are running an awesome business. I wish them tons of success. Kudos!

I've wanted to come here for a while, but just haven't made the time before, which is too bad because it's a lot of fun. I came with my wife & 2 friends to paint the Frog Pond scene. Not my first choice, but we based it more on date than anything. I'm really surprised by how easy it wound up being and just how great the staff & other painters were. Something which really stood out for me was how gracious the instructor was when a couple came in almost an hour late (the roads were pretty bad that night). There was no exasperation in her voice as she welcomed them & guided them to settle in. During our break, she gave the couple some personal attention to help them catch up. That's service you don't see every day. It's definitely a little hokey, but it's a great time, especially with a few friends. Don't come with a super large crowd though (unless you're booking for a private party), it gets a little unwieldy & can be annoying to the other patrons.

I took my team here for a team building day, we had the absolute best time! They were all nervous at first because only one of us is artistic, but everyone's photo turned out awesome! I would even say that you couldn't tell from a distance who went to 4 years of art school! The painting I chose, everyone thought that it was going to be too difficult and that there was a lot of detail, but The instructor walks you thru each step of the painting, making every step so simple. If you make a mistake, they will help you fix it, as long as there is no negativity! My entire team had a great time and I believe we will all be back again, I know I will!

My team from work came here on our team outing, and we had a great time. We decided to paint the Boston skyline. However, at the last minute, another girl and I decided to do different paintings, so we picked ones we saw on the wall and free hand painted them. However, the girl who was instructing us came over and made sure we were doing OK and answered any questions we had. And I was listening while she was instructing the painters who were following along, and she did a great job. Overall, friendly vibe, fun idea, and a great idea - I really enjoyed my time here.

My Birthday From The Paint Bar!!!
    Kathy D.

This past weekend I just celebrated my Birthday with the "Paint Bar" with 25 of my friends and family. Like I would have it anywhere else!! No way! I don't even know where to begin on how amazing they treated everyone in my group. I planned the party a few months in advance so everyone in my group could get in the day we wanted to come in! They even let me have a "choice" of pictures as long as it was in the season. I've lost track now of how many times I've been to the Paint Bar...I'm kinda a Junkie. But, I never EVER get sick of it. They constantly have so many new paintings you can go every month and paint a new one and never have the same painting. Like me! Everyone at the Paint Bar treats their customers like family the minute you walk through the door. They are so organized the minute you walk through the door and have you ready and excited to paint!! Jill and Jackie worked so hard on making sure my Birthday was an absolute success and it sure was! Everyone is still raving on how much fun they had this past weekend. Everyone's Facebook is buzzing on how they cannot wait to get back their immediately. Their Facebook photos are all of their newly painted canvas of "Starry, Starry Boston!" THANK YOU Jill, Jackie, The entire "Schon" family and everyone at the Paint Bar! You made my Birthday very, very special! Even more then I could have ever wished for!! Had an absolute blast! We are definitely planning my next year's Birthday there for sure! No doubt about it! Everyone will be upset if I don't!

My girlfriend had purchased a groupon for both of us to try this place out. We figured that it would be a cool thing to do on a cold fall week night. It really was a great time. I was impressed with the alcohol selection, they had my favorite fall beer (pumpkinhead) and it was as easy as they say. The instructor takes you step by step through the whole thing, and its just a fun and relaxing time. It's nice to see a family owned and runned business doing so well. We will be back.

The atmosphere is nice. Its a little cramped though. There isnt much elbow space between people which makes it a little hard to paint sometimes. The instructors are friendly and helpful. They use a music streaming app, Spotify I believe, and take requests which helps get everyone involved. They also do a raffle which is fun. The drinks are a little expensive. The wine I had was so-so and the snacks (candy/chips) were way too overpriced but the great thing is YOU CAN BRING IN YOUR OWN FOOD/SNACKS. There is a pizza spot right next door you can grab a slice at during the intermission which is nice.I've been here 2 times and both times I has a wonderful time. Great place to do a date night or girls night out.

Long Story Short.... This place is AWESOME. Probably the best date spot in the city. Short Story Long.... The other day my friends and I were looking for something completely new and fun to do and we randomly heard from a friend about this new place that opened called the Paint Bar. The story with the Paint Bar is that for some super inexpensive price, (I forget what it was in the end but I think it was like 35 bucks or something) they have someone teach you how to do famous painting, give you all the paints, canvas, etc you need, and when you are done you get to walk away with your own little work of art. Going into it, i was initially kind of hesitant cause the last time I painted anything I was in 7th grade, but between the awesome instructor (Jackie was HILARIOUS) and the fact that me and my friends all had a glass of wine/beer in our hands, I must say it is exponentially more fun than I ever would have expected. Absolute must try! Absolutely planning on doing again

Crafts Zone Studio was a disappointing experience. Making a bracelet was pretty pricey (if I…read moreremember correctly, the bracelet alone was $20, if not more) and didn't feel worth the cost, especially considering the cheap quality. The experience was somewhat fun, though, with a huge variety of beads to choose from -- almost too much, to the point where it felt like bead-induced stress. You're mostly paying for the experience since the bracelet itself wasn't very durable; my friend's bracelet broke a few days after, and mine did too. I felt disappointed since I wanted something my friend and I could hold on to for a long time (ESPECIALLY since we both spent so much time making it!). Would I splurge on another bracelet-making adventure at Crafts Zone? Probably not. I'd rather not pay top dollar for something that fragile.

I got this cute mushroom bird feeder that I plan to use for jewelry (I believe it was around $20?). Once you start paying there is a rate per hour that is charged on top of that item price. I will say that the studio has a very zen and relaxing vibe... until I remembered I was being charged per hour HA. There are stencils and a variety of colors to use for your artwork. I loved the stencil books because they helped so much, especially with the time constraint. When you're done with your piece they estimate about 7 days before it is ready for pickup. The staff were all super kind and helpful and the place itself was kept tidy. Overall, I had a great experience there with my friend and would go again. BONUS: I don't live in the area anymore and my friend dropped the ball on picking up our artwork. I recently went back to visit and since I was right across the street I decided to try my luck and see if my piece was there, and it was!
