The finished work of art. Not only does it look beautiful, it tasted delicious!

THE best paella we've ever had. Packed full of flavor and generous amounts of seafood to top it all off. You can tell that Jessie and his son take pride on cooking this amazing dish. They showed up hours before our guests arrived to really give the paella time to cook to perfection. All our guests agreed and commented how delicious it was... they couldn't get enough! Communication was excellent. Jessie and his son were very professional and kind. Book them for your next event... you will not regret it!

The meal was very tasty/savory. We skipped dessert this time. Atmosphere and service were great. The prices reasonable as it is a fairly complete dining experience. Lovely place to meet friends, family or date. It is first come first served so I'd recommend getting there early as it is relatively small yet worth the wait. Once you're seated, you really don't want to leave. Beautifully decorated! Provecho!!

We were accommodated readily and had no wait time as a phone call a few days ahead had been made and remembered. Even though reservations are not taken, they were set up for us and ready to get the dinner party started. This is wonderfully thoughtful service. Once in, our waitress explained that she could do partial group checks for four. That was also a thoughtful way to handle a larger group. It would have been awkward for us to split all of the variety of items on the receipt amongst us, being that we ordered so many different dishes. And wow! Did we order a lot of dishes! That's part of the fun of coming to Viva Madrid: there's such a wide variety of tapas and/or entrees to share. The more we tried, the more we wanted to continue to try! From the pitchers of both red and white sangrias, tapas, entrées, and desserts, we really made our way around the menu. Our delectable dishes came out little by little. And that's rather important here, as those small plates have a sneaky way of filling you up, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The pacing gave us an opportunity to enjoy each dish at a leisurely pace, while we chatted, laughed, and in general, got to enjoy the night in an unhurried and relaxed environment. Our plates were delicious! Such a variety of unique flavors that you wouldn't find in another kind of dining experience. Creamy, salty, aged, rich, spiced but not spicy, meaty, veggie, sautéed, simmered, roasted..... there's something here for every palate. Be open to the adventure! Our waitress and other staff that checked in on us were fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable - incredibly talented at keeping all the numbers and dishes straight - and attentive to each guest. Which again, is appreciated when part of a larger group. When you come here, be prepared to spend some time. Bring someone whose company you enjoy, then sit back, relax in the ambience of Spain, and be taken care of as if you'd been invited to dine in someone's home.

There are indoor and outdoor seating areas as well as seating at the bar counter. We started with Shiso leaf & Ribeye bite, citrus salad with shaved Brie and mint, Potato leak soup, Organic Red carrots, celery root purée with chili oil, Filet mignonette for the main entree and to finish up with a special Halo Halo dessert. Each course was paired with special white or red wine from the packing house. Staff were so attentive and the foods were excellent. From the regular menus, ample selections and at a reasonable price. The bonus is, you can get some wine after dinner.

A friend I met many years ago at a wine tasting invited me to a Burgundy wine class at Packing House Wines, and I attended. The store is located up a few steps on the north side of the Claremont Packing House. Parking is usually not an issue as there is a big multi-level parking garage on the east side of the packing house. All attendees sat down to a list of wines to be tasted, a printed out copy of the slides being presented, a big burgundy wine glass for pours, water, and a nice little charcuterie plate. The owner Sal gave the presentation, and it was easily the best wine class I have ever attended. He talks pretty fast, but not too fast, and his delivery was excellent, providing an extensive amount of information that was easy to understand. We pretty much learned everything about Burgundy wines from the history of the region, the stringent production laws, different classes of Burgundy wines, and details about all of the different producers and regions we tasted wines from. The class was scheduled for two hours, but it ended up lasting for two and a half hours. It would have been easy to stay for much longer as the class and wines were very enjoyable. The wine class was a little pricey at $125 per person, but this was a bargain as Burgundy wines are expensive. We were able to taste ten 1.5 ounce pours including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines (one of them was $350/bottle). My favorites were the '17 Albert Bichot Fixin ($53.99) and the '20 Domaine Lecheneaut Vosne Romanee ($124.99) which I purchased. They have wine classes regularly, and I will definitely return if one catches my eye. They have quite a selection of wines for sale, as well as tasting flights and food from their kitchen.

But it was more than the food; it was the service that made it so memorable. Our family had just arrived in Claremont for the first time; didn't know the area and were starving. Saw Inka Trails on Yelp and thought it looked good but it was about to close in 30 mins so we called to check if we could still make it. The lady who answered the phone was warm and welcoming, telling us to come on by. What followed was some of the most delicious food I've had, on par with Michelin-starred restaurants I have had the pleasured to dine at in Bangkok, San Sebastian, Paris...It was home cooking with the best ingredients - you can taste the freshness of the fish and vegetables and the fragrance of the herbs. Highly recommend the fish rice soup, the fried fish and fish stew in tomato broth. It was serious one of the best meals we have had. So the food was 5 stars, but what made me write this review was the owner Patty. She was warm and gracious. Asked us what brought us to Claremont and when we told her we were there to tour colleges, she was kind to share her insights on the school, experiences with the students, told us about safety and transits in the area. Remember this was all after the restaurant was already scheduled to be closed for the evening. We were never rushed and Patty was sincere and kind. As a frequent traveler and woman in business, I appreciate that. The experience was a highlight of our college visits and I hope to return to Inka Trails for another spectacular meal soon in the near future.

Got a room for NYE, went out to dinner and stopped at bar at 7pm to get a dessert we read about on the elevator earlier. Bar had two table tops and 2 people at bar besides us for a total of 12 people. When we sat down the woman bartender was directly infront of us. She didn't acknowledge us and I'd noted us for at-least 10 minutes while never being more than 5 feet away from us, her bar back never acknowledged us either. Easily could have ruined the night, but since we spent so much for hotel and it was NYE we just decided to leave, not letting whatever problems they were having become our problems. I have read all the reviews for the bar and the have an incredible amount of negatives which is surprising because the hotel aspect of it was amazing. We will definitely stay at hotel again and being that there are 30 restaurants within a block we will never need to experience the bar again. I don't like to leave bad reviews and maybe she was going through something in her life that was horrible but she did have other employees that could have taken up the slack and they customers inside lounge were families with 5 of which were children so it's mot as if they were overwhelmed making mixed drinks. Don't let the Lounge and Bar take away from the actual Hotel though, that part was incredible.

I went during happy Hour time, and I think the prices for drinks is very decent! I paid $3 for my beers. The problem is there was only one girl working during the entire happy hour. Other bartenders didn't come until nearing the end of it, so the poor girl had to manage a full bar with other full tables. People kept asking her for drinks and she was trying her best to make as many as she can. As happy hour died down and it got dark outside us when more workers came and there was security. My party sat inside then we moved outside. There was some fire to keep us warm and then we noticed another bar outside. The bar made our drinks wrong so we ended up going to the inside one more. Overall it just seems like there are lacking parts to this place; it needs more workers, more consistency, more rules set in place. This is not a favorite place of mine to be.

We were first introduced to one another by the previous owners, Mary and Jim, during one of their events--little did we know those introductions would grow into lifelong friendships. Over the years, our Wednesday Wine Nights became a tradition we all cherished. When we learned that the shop was going up for sale, we were understandably nervous. We wondered what would happen if it didn't sell--where would we go? And if it did sell, what if the new owners changed the shop in ways we didn't love? What if we didn't connect with them the way we had with Mary and Jim, who had become family to us? Then it happened, the shop sold. We were introduced to Maria and Veronica, and it was truly love at first meeting. They are two of the kindest, most welcoming women, and they have brought fresh ideas and wonderful energy to the shop. Our Wednesday Wine Nights continue today, and we are grateful to have gained new friends in Maria, Veronica, and their families, who help run this warm, family-operated business. The Third Street Wine Shop remains a place where you are welcomed the moment you walk in--where the owners make you feel like you're their only guests. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a tasting, a glass, or a bottle of exceptional wine, paired with one of their beautiful charcuterie boards or other delicious snacks. And for those who prefer beer, they offer a great selection of local craft options as well. We hope to see you there soon!
