After my wife and I had a great Memorial Day weekend in Pismo Beach, we decided Monday to start heading home but didnt want to drive all the way because the Roads were busy. So after driving 2 and a half hours, we decided to stop in Monterey and spend the night here even though we are going to be spending the night here again at the end of June. So glad that we got the opportunity to spend the night here because we were just worn out after having to not being able to find a place to park and go to the beach while we were in Pismo Beach but we kind of expected that due to it being Memorial Day. After we pulled into the parking lot, you can just tell that there were some renovations that had happened here because the Pool was no longer a Pool, it was now turned into a Dog Park. We walked into the Office to check in and the guy who was at the Office was very friendly and helped us get checked in. We then got our information to get into our Room and as soon as we walked in, let me tell you the Room was very clean and you could smell the cleanliness. We put our stuff down and then got settled and when we sat down on the bed, it was very comfortable, and welcoming. It was just so soft that I knew that I wouldnt have any problems falling asleep. As a matter of fact, after we got back from eating Dinner, I almost was just by sitting on the bed for 5 minutes. We got into the Shower and it had alot of pressure, the toilet flushed great and every where I looked it just sparkled with cleanliness. The TV, the Fridge and even the Chairs & Table was clean. This being our first time here, we were so impressed that we are even more excited that we will have the opportunity to come back here and stay again. As we fell asleep you could hear just ultimate silence and you would have no problems with falling asleep here. After waking up in the morning we checked out and had no problems with checking out. So over all I wish I could give this place a 10 star because for something that was cheaply priced, the experience, the comfort and the cleanliness was well worth it. This was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my adult life, and I travel often. We actually left early because we felt uncomfortable staying there, which is something I have never done before. The owners and their family live on site, and the entire stay felt very uncomfortable and intrusive, especially because we were traveling with our dog. One evening when we returned from being out all day, we went back outside to grab a few things from our car and clean it out. Almost immediately, the owner's daughter came outside. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her point her phone camera directly toward us as if she was recording us. When I looked directly at her, she stopped and just stared. As soon as we went back into our room, she went back inside the house. The timing was not a coincidence, and it made us feel like we were being watched the entire time we were there. What made the situation worse is we are fairly certain someone entered our room while we were gone. When we came back, the toilet seat was left up, which is something neither my partner nor I do. We are both very sure about that. Nothing was missing, but the feeling that someone had entered our room without permission was extremely unsettling and felt like a complete violation of privacy. We wanted to address it with the owners, but after reading multiple reviews saying the owner becomes aggressive when people request refunds, we honestly felt intimidated and did not feel comfortable confronting them directly. We ended up calling BringFido and decided to leave early because we no longer felt comfortable staying on the property. Aside from the uncomfortable situation with the owners, the property itself is not well maintained. The floors in the room were very dirty, the parking lot is extremely small and very difficult to maneuver, and the walls are paper thin. When we first checked in, I thought it was strange that there were ear plugs sitting on the sink counter, but after the first night I understood why. You can hear absolutely everything. We could barely sleep because of noise through the walls. On the second day, we tried to take a nap and couldn't get comfortable because we could hear constant vacuuming and furniture being moved around through the walls. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip to Monterey, and instead we felt uncomfortable, watched, and unable to sleep. We left early and are now hoping we can get a refund. Do not stay here!!!!! This did not feel like a hotel -- it felt like we were being monitored while staying in a dirty, noisy motel. Easily the worst hotel experience I have ever had. read more

We stayed here one night as a pit stop on our road trip. Pros: room is spacious, dog friendly, about 10 mins drive to Caramel by the sea Cons: The parking is extremely tight and challenging to maneuver, especially with a truck. We got a room on the first floor, and the bright lights came through the blinds; it was hard to fall asleep. The bed was the worst part. It was not flat! The head was lower than the feet, so my husband ended up switching to put his head on the bottom because he was getting a headache. The dog charge is very high compared to other similar accommodations. The front desk staff was not very friendly. We stayed on Saturday night and it was about $300- not worth it. read more

Great customer service. Karun went out of his way to change the room I was assigned, as I am a light sleeper, and the original room was by the road. Karun is friendly and professional, and a very hard worker!! I stayed here for two nights and had a pleasant experience. The room was sparkling clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the towels were plush and absorbent. Nice shower and amenities. It was convenient having two areas to potty your dog. Note: There are not a lot of areas outside of the property to walk your dog since it runs along a busy road, but there is a side street that can be accessed during the day through the back gate. Parking is tight, so if you have a suburban or a car of similar size, you don't want to park in back. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights and was VERY pleased with our experience. We arrived late, 9:45. I had called earlier to notify them we would be arriving late since we saw on our reservation they don't accept check-ins after 10pm. Met the manager at the window and it was a smooth and easy check-in. No hidden fees, parking was free and simple. He was super nice! Even gave us some suggestions on where to eat for breakfast and lunch. Loved him. as for the room: clean!! That's all i ask for. and it was. The room was a decent size, came with mini fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice! Everything was neat and clean, no weird smells (something i hate when it comes to beach stays). They have laundry machines for an extra $1-2. Noise-wise: a little noisy with our room being right next to the road but nothing crazy. Didnt bother us at all. No noisy guests during our stay. This was a fine place to stay in Monterey for the price point. It's near the airport and a lot of other hotels. They do have coffee makers in the room and if you want a real breakfast, you can go to Grandma's Kitchen nearby. Check-in was fine and there was plenty of parking. The beds were comfortable. The room with two queens is a decent size and I liked how the sink area was separate from toilet/shower. The toilet/shower part of the bathroom didn't have any hooks or places to put anything and the shower curtain was barely functional to keep water from going on the floor. I did like how they had enough power outlets and usb outlets by the beds, and there is a little table with two chairs in the room. This would be a fine place to stay for a few days with family. Not walking distance to downtown Monterey but we took an uber and it was only about $12. read more

It's a fine place to stay given the prices in the area are insane for housing, but it's absurd for 300+ a night. Pros: Remodeled with wood floors and modern furniture . Room was well equipped- fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Allows pets but the pet fee was non trivial. They have a fenced dog park/ small relief area for dogs and patches of turf in the back. Helped my dog get some exercise. Cons: Cramped parking. Room reservation started over an hour late, said they were still cleaning. They eventually waived the pet fee for making us wait so long but our kids were stuck bored and tired in the car expecting to get rest. If you're on the bottom floor, it's super loud just from people walking across the upstairs. My dog definitely barked every couple minutes until these ppl upstairs went to sleep. Checked in on 12/16/23. The staff that was working that day was fantastic!!! So friendly and helpful. The check in process was quick and easy. I didn't expect much because it's a motel/inn and it was inexpensive but wow, it was surprisingly very comfortable and clean. I like the re-modeled room and how convenient it is to local restaurants, gas stations and shopping centers. For being close to the busy main road, I didn't hear anything from the outside. The heater/AC worked great. The bed was comfy, they provided amenities like makeup removers and soap (as seen on the photos) and they pay attention to details - they even folded the tissue box like a fan and folded the toilet paper like a triangle. Even some fancy hotels don't have this kind of service. There's also an area for pet to relieve themselves that is gated and clean. There is hardly any trash around the premises, no cigarette buds or garage, and there are cameras located everywhere around the property building so you can feel a sense of safety when you park your car outside in the lot. The workers and owner take pride in this establishment and it shows. I would highly recommend people to stay here. It exceeded my expectations when I didn't even have one upon check in. read more

We recently stated at the Pacific Inn in Monterey. It's a real cute little hotel located in a good location. They are dog friendly which is nice but they do charge every night not just a one time fee. The room we had had one bed and was quite small but very clean and nicely decorated. They had a place for your dog to go potty and run around. That is really good as you don't need to hunt for grass for your dog to go on. All the bedding was clean as were the toilet and shower. They are very reasonably priced. There is a desk and mini fridge and a microwave also. I can recommend this hotel for a clean reasonable place to stay. read more

She kept arguing and insisted that I contact Expedia to sort it out. I tried to explain to her that I had booked the room directly through their website, not Expedia, but she continued to argue that I should call Expedia. What in the world?! We went back and forth, and I told her it wasn't my responsibility to contact a third-party company for their mistake. Their reservation system clearly needs to be fixed, or they need to hire someone more helpful. read more

The flooring had cracked vinyl, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, and noise traveled easily--we could hear everything from the guests upstairs, including a loud rendition of "Happy Birthday" at midnight. Checkout was frustrating, as it relied on a kiosk with a virtual attendant. Comfortable stay in Monterey This is an older style motel that has been renovated to a high standard. The room is spacious, there is a good bathroom and the bed is comfortable. The laundry facilities weren't operational when we were checked in but there is a laundry just across the road. This is a good option for visiting Monterey if you have wheels. read more

Amazing customer service! I previously booked another hotel for my birthday weekend and when we arrived at that location, it was disgusting, dirty, and the customer service left more to be desired. I quickly remembered how fond I was of this inn when I stayed here last year and decided to just book it again last minute. The minute we arrived in the lobby it was like night and day. Karun was the epitome of an undercover boss as he went above and beyond to accommodate my boyfriend and I for my birthday weekend! Polite, professional, and kind--he made small talk and asked if we had any plans for the vacation and if we wanted any recommendations for restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. If you're on a budget, not looking for romance and not restricted to one of the big chains, this is a reasonably priced option on the motel scale only about a 6-minute drive from the MRY airport. You can book through their site. Staff at the office is there until 10 PM, then they have a night window until they re-open in the morning. They were efficient and cordial. I got an end room (#119). The walls are thin. I could hear the couple next to me getting it on and getting into a little kink at 6 in the evening. :/ My room was clean and neat with hardwood floors, a dorm room frig and a little microwave which is a nice touch if you need to keep leftovers or drinks. It's just a basic room. Nothing fancy. My room came with 2 queen beds but I only used the one. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The only snag was the Wi-Fi. At 5 mbps and me being a gamer, I had a lot of lag playing and Outlook took forever to update when I started work. I don't know if I'd stay here again based on that, but if I just needed to get a nap in, I'd probably return. read more

I remember staying here back in 2012 or 2013 when it was Ramona Best Western. Well, my dad booked it after our discussion on a good motel at a good price. All remodeled in about 2014 or 2015 when it was purchased. It became the Pacific Inn. Nice sheets, pretty good bed for comfort. They had plantation shutters, keurig coffeemaker, microwave, mini fridge, an lcd small tv and many outlets. Nice bathroom with a remodeled shower with body gel/shampoo/conditioner all Papa brand and in pumps. This saves them money in the long run. We stayed here for 2 nights on Wednesday $80 and Thursday $100. Not bad for the summertime at all. Lodging in Monterey area can be super high on the reg and crazy high when events are in town (I read $500+ at this motel! Yikes!). The good: Clean room Bed is good and comfy enough. Not the best at all but good. Amenities Cool dispenser pumps Keurig Newer carpets Tons of outlets, even ones next to lights by bedsides! Most I have ever seen Internet is quite fast Negatives: Shower water pressure is light. Probably for them to save water Keurig pod was nil when we arrived. Not refilled ever during our stay! Had to basically beg to get 1 or 2 a day at the office. Walls were super thin and each night we could hear talking or music in the adjacent rooms. Lucky we were upstairs to avoid here running or stomping. No partying though because I think it was due to us going on Wed and Thur and not the weekend. The fam that lives on site and runs it is not friendly or heard of smiling. It's all business here. They will watch if you have dogs when you arrive. We don't have any dogs but we saw the lady in the office visually check. Reason being is that they charge $30 per dog per day. In conclusion, we were pleased with our stay. This hotel has obviously been renovated. It's unassuming at first glance, but inside the room is clean and fresh. I was only there one night but it was a comfy stay. As nice as the room was, the highlight of the hotel is Karun, the front desk/manger. When I say Karun truly cares and goes above and beyond for the customers, Im not exaggerating! He's 100% epic! Decent stay at the motel. It's about 10-15min drive to cannery row. The motel provided keruig coffee pods for complimentary coffee, as well as in showering toiletries. The bedroom was very clean with some artwork hanging. Concierge is 24hrs, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The motel is on the same lot as grandma's cafe. Very convenient location to grab breakfast, coffee, fill up gas, 7-11 right across the street. The motel is on a busy street, walkable distance to stores. My only complaint would be The walls are very thin, we can hear upstairs walking and moving around throughout the morning. read more

I will admit I was a bit nervous booking a "budget" hotel for an overnight stay in Monterey. I travel a lot and typically use high quality hotels where I have status. However, I wanted to bring my dog on this trip and the pet fee at Hyatt and many others in the area would cost MORE than my room here. Ridiculous! I chose this hotel because of the photos online; I could see it had been recently remodeled. When I arrived in the area, I got nervous again as it is located in a proverbial stripmall of scary hotels. After pulling in, I realized they had covered over the pool and made it a green area for dogs :) and that brought the smile back to my face. While checking in, I also saw two other pups with their owner. I was able to pull my car right up to the door of my room, which you really can't do in more expensive hotels and the convenience was wonderful. The room had been recently remodeled and although the floor was already bubbling a bit, the room was cute, clean and well appointed. I loved that there was a microwave, fridge and Kurig. They also had cups, fair quality soap and hair care products and even make-up remover. But the cherry on the top for me were the signs around the room; that sounds sarcastic, but I'm being serious. There was a sign on the AC/Heating unit advising that is it controlled by a wall unit. (I was already pushing buttons trying to get it to work when I saw the sign) There was also a sign explaining how to start the shower. I have spent countless minutes in much nicer hotel rooms trying to figure out how things work. It's a different process everywhere it seems and this was a nice time saving touch! My dog was comfy. I didn't have to walk far to have a nice spot to let her potty and despite all the dogs, there was hardly any barking and no smells. I highly recommend this hotel for dog owners. The reason I can't give 5 stars is that I emailed the hotel twice and Never received a response. Communication is very important to me. I also called twice before booking and I really feel customer service could be much improved. For the value, this is a wonderful place to stay and if I had my dog and needed a place to stay in Monterey again, I would definitely return. read more

The bathroom was massive. The staff was very friendly. The location was nice and close To a 7-11. We also ordered take out pizza from one of the places the motel suggested from an ad in the room. We enjoyed the Pacific Inn in Monterey on a recent trip my daughter and I went to for a New Years Eve party. the hotel is very clean and upda. we especially want to give a shout out to Kahrun who is one of the hotels employees. Kahrun was so pleasant and helpful. the best service I have had in a long time by a hotel clerk. we will definitely come back and hopefully Kahrun will be there. read more

At check in front desk clerk said the " owner decided to clean the carpets and the carpet may still be wet" We dropped off our bags to an overwhelming smell of that cheap toxic smell of faboluso left to have the smell die down to come back hours later and realize that the carpet was actually soaking wet. SOAKING WET. The air quality of a soaking wet carpet and not able to open the windows so to safety in the area and the smell still lingering made for a horrific stay. A pack of loud people were in a patch of Astro turf with chairs off the parking lot by grandmas cafe across the way all night long as well. Expedia tried calling multiple times to contact staff for us to no answer by the staff that said she lived at the property for us to leave possibly. Read all the reviews for this unprofessionally run property. I wish I had. On check out I asked what time finished the carpet. She said 2 pm. Check in was at 3 Pm !! 6 hour drive to land at this motel in an unsafe area and with an owner that runs his place like this putting guests a risk for their health to be j. A room with soaking wet carpet. NASTY. Play in a puddle and pitch a tent instead. 200.00 for this? Probably all sorts of bugs under that carpet and Mold. BBB report and reporting to the Chamber of Commerce to Expedia being told they are refusing a refund. The rooms had mildew, probably black mold, were disgustingly hot, with locks on the hot water in the room and in proper working drain system. The room was disgusting and filthy dirty with soaking wet & sticky carpets that probably had human ejaculation or dog piss prior to the stay, and this was cleaned MINUTES before my stay. Perfect location and proximity to tourist attractions. Cons: Lots of noise from street and upstairs (if you get a downstairs room). Shower runs slow. Some cracked paint in room 102. Room key stopped working every day at 3pm. Staff helped replace it but it became annoying. TV does not have most premium channels and small for room size. Full size toiletries already in bathroom. Would prefer mini sized ones for each guest to prevent sharing. Especially in Covid times, not sure if these are cleaned between guests. read more

To be honest I was apprehensive when booking because I tend to stay in nice Airbnb's and hotels but Monterey had very limited affordable options. To my pleasant surprise it was an incredible stay! Our room was newly remodeled, everything was very clean, had great turn down service and the owners were friendly. My only complaints is that the WiFi connection was very spotty so I wouldn't choose this spot to work from remotely. There was parking available , it was quiet all things considering , and had some great food spots nearby. read more
