From walking barefoot in the room.

It's a fine place to stay given the prices in the area are insane for housing, but it's absurd for 300+ a night. Pros: Remodeled with wood floors and modern furniture . Room was well equipped- fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Allows pets but the pet fee was non trivial. They have a fenced dog park/ small relief area for dogs and patches of turf in the back. Helped my dog get some exercise. Cons: Cramped parking. Room reservation started over an hour late, said they were still cleaning. They eventually waived the pet fee for making us wait so long but our kids were stuck bored and tired in the car expecting to get rest. If you're on the bottom floor, it's super loud just from people walking across the upstairs. My dog definitely barked every couple minutes until these ppl upstairs went to sleep. The room was mopped but maybe only with water? Our feet were all blackened by just walking through the room! the room barefoot!

Checked in on 12/16/23. The staff that was working that day was fantastic!!! So friendly and helpful. The check in process was quick and easy. I didn't expect much because it's a motel/inn and it was inexpensive but wow, it was surprisingly very comfortable and clean. I like the re-modeled room and how convenient it is to local restaurants, gas stations and shopping centers. For being close to the busy main road, I didn't hear anything from the outside. The heater/AC worked great. The bed was comfy, they provided amenities like makeup removers and soap (as seen on the photos) and they pay attention to details - they even folded the tissue box like a fan and folded the toilet paper like a triangle. Even some fancy hotels don't have this kind of service. There's also an area for pet to relieve themselves that is gated and clean. There is hardly any trash around the premises, no cigarette buds or garage, and there are cameras located everywhere around the property building so you can feel a sense of safety when you park your car outside in the lot. The workers and owner take pride in this establishment and it shows. I would highly recommend people to stay here. It exceeded my expectations when I didn't even have one upon check in.

We recently stated at the Pacific Inn in Monterey. It's a real cute little hotel located in a good location. They are dog friendly which is nice but they do charge every night not just a one time fee. The room we had had one bed and was quite small but very clean and nicely decorated. They had a place for your dog to go potty and run around. That is really good as you don't need to hunt for grass for your dog to go on. All the bedding was clean as were the toilet and shower. They are very reasonably priced. There is a desk and mini fridge and a microwave also. I can recommend this hotel for a clean reasonable place to stay.

If you're on a budget, not looking for romance and not restricted to one of the big chains, this is a reasonably priced option on the motel scale only about a 6-minute drive from the MRY airport. You can book through their site. Staff at the office is there until 10 PM, then they have a night window until they re-open in the morning. They were efficient and cordial. I got an end room (#119). The walls are thin. I could hear the couple next to me getting it on and getting into a little kink at 6 in the evening. :/ My room was clean and neat with hardwood floors, a dorm room frig and a little microwave which is a nice touch if you need to keep leftovers or drinks. It's just a basic room. Nothing fancy. My room came with 2 queen beds but I only used the one. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The only snag was the Wi-Fi. At 5 mbps and me being a gamer, I had a lot of lag playing and Outlook took forever to update when I started work. I don't know if I'd stay here again based on that, but if I just needed to get a nap in, I'd probably return.

Great place to stay for a night. Nothing wrong with the rooms, parking was easy to find, and the staff were friendly.

I remember staying here back in 2012 or 2013 when it was Ramona Best Western. Well, my dad booked it after our discussion on a good motel at a good price. All remodeled in about 2014 or 2015 when it was purchased. It became the Pacific Inn. Nice sheets, pretty good bed for comfort. They had plantation shutters, keurig coffeemaker, microwave, mini fridge, an lcd small tv and many outlets. Nice bathroom with a remodeled shower with body gel/shampoo/conditioner all Papa brand and in pumps. This saves them money in the long run. We stayed here for 2 nights on Wednesday $80 and Thursday $100. Not bad for the summertime at all. Lodging in Monterey area can be super high on the reg and crazy high when events are in town (I read $500+ at this motel! Yikes!). The good: Clean room Bed is good and comfy enough. Not the best at all but good. Amenities Cool dispenser pumps Keurig Newer carpets Tons of outlets, even ones next to lights by bedsides! Most I have ever seen Internet is quite fast Negatives: Shower water pressure is light. Probably for them to save water Keurig pod was nil when we arrived. Not refilled ever during our stay! Had to basically beg to get 1 or 2 a day at the office. Walls were super thin and each night we could hear talking or music in the adjacent rooms. Lucky we were upstairs to avoid here running or stomping. No partying though because I think it was due to us going on Wed and Thur and not the weekend. The fam that lives on site and runs it is not friendly or heard of smiling. It's all business here. They will watch if you have dogs when you arrive. We don't have any dogs but we saw the lady in the office visually check. Reason being is that they charge $30 per dog per day. In conclusion, we were pleased with our stay. A few things as mentioned could be improved. However, as detailed above, there are many good perks. We would stay again if the rate was similar.

The hotel offers a nightly happy hour and musical performances. During our visit we had the pleasure to discover a highly talented artist by the name of Adrea, who has the most incredible voice and presence. We were so impressed by her and were very fortunate that she performed both nights of our visit. It was a performance we would have gladly paid to see, she is a rising talent for sure. I can't state how exceptional our experience was to enjoy the music in such an elevated atmosphere, relaxing by the fire, enjoying the outstanding craft cocktails by their highly talented mixologist. Schooners is not to be missed, the food is as outstanding as the ocean view! This was our second time staying in Monterey and I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel someday. It was everything I imagined and more! The service was exceptional from the valet to the bellhop to registration and restaurant staff. We are also IHG elite members and we were given a room upgrade with a thoughtful card and gift for our anniversary. Our room was facing the ocean on Cannery Row with a balcony. It was a very nice, spacious and clean room with alot of thoughtful attention like providing refillable water bottles, robes and an amazing Nespresso machine. There was also a wine bar and snacks available for purchase. The hotel had a wonderful scent throughout and we enjoyed walking through the ocean vibes staircase featuring a jellyfish. Definitely look for that! We loved having our anniversary dinner at The C Restaurant, but that will be another well earned review on it's own. However, we did have two negative experiences, one was that we waited a bit too long for our car at the valet once and there was an accidental spa charge on our receipt when checking out. I still gave them 5 stars because they rectified it right away and even removed the valet charge for us, which was much appreciated. I would love to come back to this hotel someday to bring my parents and we hope you love it too!!

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

We only tried breakfast at the restaurant but it was great. The serving sizes were huge. Definitely could have split one plate between 2 people. Even the kids meal was a large portion size. I will say however, that this is not the most accessible hotel if you have a stroller or wheelchair. The lobby has an accessible lift (the entrance is at the bottom of a small staircase), but we didnt know this when first walking over. So I spent a few minutes walking around the property trying to look for a way to get my stroller and 2 kids up to the front desk. The lift is also pretty narrow. I have a tandem double stroller so I was able to fit, but I dont think I would have been able to use the lift if I had a side by side double stroller. The only other way to get up to the lobby is to go through one of the elevators in the parking garage. But if you didn't park in the garage, then you'd have to walk your stroller (or move your wheelchair) into the parking garage and then use the correct elevator to get to the main lobby. Having small kids, this was just more inconvenient than anything. Not the hotel's fault, but just not a great fit for us at this time. I am grateful that they have multiple elevators throughout the parking garage so that you dont have to walk all the way across the property to use the elevator. The hotel was also recently renovated, but the attention to detail just wasnt there. One of the towel hooks in our bathroom was hanging off our wall, the light in the hallway was crooked and was very wobbly, and there was a panel that was supposed to covering the wires from the phone that was kinda just hanging loosely. Not a big deal for us, but just things that we noticed that could've used some work. Overall, not a bad hotel, but the stroller accessibility was just not a great fit for us as a family with young kids.

So either housekeeping was being dishonest about finding it originally, or they're being dishonest about changing the bedding between guests.) And now, after nearly a month of waiting, calling, and emailing, the kindle was FINALLY mailed. My initial review still stands. What an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. "Disappointed" would be an understatement. Booked one night (using points) at this property and really wish we hadn't. Was charged a mystery $50 fee at check in. Then at checkout we asked what it was for, the guy working the front desk didn't have a clue and he tried to say he'd fix it "when the computers were working again." When we called his bluff by saying we'd come back in an hour, it was magically fixed. Shady! The room itself was meh... the floors were strangely sloped/didn't feel level. The real kicker here: there was no bedside table on my side of the bed (an inconvenience in itself), so my kindle was placed on the bed with me. I unfortunately forgot my kindle on the bed and didn't realize until we had checked out and were hours away. We called the hotel and were told they didn't find anything in the room. I know for a fact it was left in that room (I've double triple quadruple checked my luggage and there's no where else it could possibly be). Again, SHADY.

One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on.
