Extra little room off of the bathroom in the cottage
    Kayla K.

We just returned from our trip and I have to leave a review! Honestly I was a little nervous to book something outside of a traditional hotel for my husband, baby and I but this place was wonderful and budget friendly! The rooms are exactly like shown on the website! We booked a king room but were upgraded to a cottage upon check in which was wonderful! Not only did we have a king bed but we had a little room with a door where we could put our baby's pack and play so she could sleep well. The room was nice, spacious, & clean!! You could tell the rooms have been recently remodeled. Also, it is dog friendly and the pet fee is cheaper than most other places in town! We will definitely stay here again! We were very pleased and for the price you can't beat it!

We stayed there for a week and very pleased with our suite. We stayed in 1 bedroom with kitchen, living area and with another bed adjacent to living room. The pictures on expedia.com didn't do it justice. It is also pet friendly hotel. And there is a park about 2 miles away. Ots also near Safeway and few more miles there is costco and a shopping center. My only complaint is we wish we each had a dresser. It's near Carmel, Cannery Row. If up to it the wharf at Santa Cruz has real good clam chowder. It was the last restaurant and they sell fresh seafood. If staying i would the Chinese restaurant nearby and Monterey Cookhouse.

Stayed here for 1 night (Saturday into Sunday). Front desk was friendly and helpful, check in process was a breeze. Plenty of parking which is a huge plus. The room is clean and nicely updated. The bed was comfortable and they had a huge bathroom with shampoo and body wash attached to the wall. The tv was a flat screen and there was a fridge with plenty of space. There was no water bottles for us to use, but Safeway was right next door and we managed. The AC was cool but it was VERY loud. We stayed in room 12. Also, we can hear the room next to us in the morning which disrupted our sleep. It was a short stay but we felt comfortable staying here and would totally stay again. I'm interested in their bigger suites with a full kitchen, it might be nice for when we have family with us.

Pretty good find for an inexpensive but still nice hotel to stay at in Monterey. Making the reservation was easy online, it was easy to find the hotel as its right on a Main Street, and there is plenty of parking. Amenities are nice, it appears as if it was renovated semi recently. Our room 24 was clean and organized and the majority of the items were in very good condition. The fridge was a little scuffed (which obviously is not a big deal) there seemed to a missing security camera above our section, and the bathroom door has a screw loose in the doorway which prevented the door from being fully closed. Overall, surface level issues that are not that big of a deal. Shower was in good condition! Unfortunately I couldn't use the shampoo/conditioner as I am allergic to Aloe Vera, but good thing I brought my own! Check in and out process was smooth. We arrived a bit before the 3pm check in time and we were allowed to put our bags in a secure room so we didn't have to take them all around the city. About 10 minutes from Cannery Row and all of that stuff

I can only say I don't know how the rating is so high. I booked room 35. Buddy in 33. The rooms here are terrible, maybe I'm expecting too much. AC in the room did not work, just blows warm air. When it turns on, it sounds like a 747 taking off. I thought I could cool myself off with the nice Monterey breeze by opening the windows but guess what, there aren't any window screens. The bathroom is pretty disgusting see pics. It's run down. Don't let the others pictures fool you. I think this place has fake reviews, only way I can explain it. Now my wife is angry at me.... I got tricked by the revie

This was our second time staying in Monterey and I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel someday. It was everything I imagined and more! The service was exceptional from the valet to the bellhop to registration and restaurant staff. We are also IHG elite members and we were given a room upgrade with a thoughtful card and gift for our anniversary. Our room was facing the ocean on Cannery Row with a balcony. It was a very nice, spacious and clean room with alot of thoughtful attention like providing refillable water bottles, robes and an amazing Nespresso machine. There was also a wine bar and snacks available for purchase. The hotel had a wonderful scent throughout and we enjoyed walking through the ocean vibes staircase featuring a jellyfish. Definitely look for that! We loved having our anniversary dinner at The C Restaurant, but that will be another well earned review on it's own. However, we did have two negative experiences, one was that we waited a bit too long for our car at the valet once and there was an accidental spa charge on our receipt when checking out. I still gave them 5 stars because they rectified it right away and even removed the valet charge for us, which was much appreciated. I would love to come back to this hotel someday to bring my parents and we hope you love it too!!

I booked a Mother's Day getaway at InterContinental Clement in Monterey through Chase Travel and…read moreunfortunately it was a disappointing experience overall. The biggest issue started at check-in. I had specifically booked a double bed room with a fireplace, but upon arrival they only had a king room with a fireplace reserved for us (apparently anything through a third-party system was booking incorrectly, but I think that is on the hotel to resolve themselves). When I explained that we wanted double beds, they told us they only had a double room without the fireplace we originally booked. The room we ended up getting was a far walk from the elevators and overlooked the main street rather than the ocean, which did not feel worth the high nightly rate, especially after the reservation issue. I would have thought they would try to give us some upgrades (nicer room, nicer view) for the trouble. After my mom asked, they did comp one day of valet parking for the inconvenience but I honestly think they should have given more (and offered more to us in the first instance). I had very high expectations because I previously stayed at InterContinental Willard in DC in January for work and had an amazing experience. Even though that trip was not for a special occasion, the room included thoughtful touches like a handwritten card with artwork of the hotel, complimentary sparkling and still water, a large fruit bowl, and chocolate desserts waiting in the room. Willard also included a $20 daily dining credit and spa credit. Clement had none of these. At Clement, I had noted that we were celebrating Mother's Day and my mom's upcoming retirement, but there was nothing acknowledging the occasion. For the price we paid, the stay just did not feel special or luxurious. The amenities were also pretty underwhelming. The room itself was not noticeably larger or nicer than what you might expect from a standard 3-star hotel. While the hotel has been renovated, you can still see signs of age with rust around parts of the bathroom and sprinkler fixtures. While the location is convenient since it's walking distance to the aquarium, restaurants, and souvenir shops on Cannery Row, beware the surrounding area is heavily tourist-priced. Overall, this stay made me regret choosing Clement for such an important occasion. I don't think I would return, especially given the price point and the lack of attention to detail compared to other InterContinental hotels.

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

"Disappointed" would be an understatement. Booked one night (using points) at this property and really wish we hadn't. Was charged a mystery $50 fee at check in. Then at checkout we asked what it was for, the guy working the front desk didn't have a clue and he tried to say he'd fix it "when the computers were working again." When we called his bluff by saying we'd come back in an hour, it was magically fixed. Shady! The room itself was meh... the floors were strangely sloped/didn't feel level. The real kicker here: there was no bedside table on my side of the bed (an inconvenience in itself), so my kindle was placed on the bed with me. I unfortunately forgot my kindle on the bed and didn't realize until we had checked out and were hours away. We called the hotel and were told they didn't find anything in the room. I know for a fact it was left in that room (I've double triple quadruple checked my luggage and there's no where else it could possibly be). Again, SHADY.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a warm charm that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on. Nobody was around and they do run on sensors. Not a significant event but certainly was well timed. Overall, Hotel Del Monte struck the perfect balance between comfort, history, and a touch of playful spookiness. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monterrey that has access to a military installation--especially if you're looking for more than just a hotel, but a memorable experience.

On Friday morning, several people we knew were awoken by the "active shooter drill" announcement at 8:00am. I understand this will happen on a naval academy base, but I wish we were warned about upon check-in just so we were aware and not startled in the morning.
