This place was outstanding! The menu is huge...I loved the pumpkin pancakes. The service is slow...and that's a good thing! They take their time making each meal, and somehow balance a bustling flow of customers but keep it comfortable. Our servicer was incredibly friends and fun, we never felt rushed. I saw three different staff members hug customers on their way out, which was super cool. You may need to wait a little for your meal, but it's well worth it!

Always love Original Pancake House! You can count on consistent food for a great breakfast. This location is especially nice because it is so roomy and can accommodate large families like ours.

Whenever I'm in the Bend, I make it a point to stop by and enjoy a delicious breakfast here at the original pancake house. The service is fast and friendly and enjoy the atmosphere along with the coffee mugs they have. If your in haven't tried this place you need too! Make sure to stop by today and enjoy the goodness it had to offer. One down side is that the patio is only open on the weekends, so if you have a pet you won't be able to bring them along during the week.

Picked up an omelet to go today and it was the worst presentation I've ever seen. How can you mess up an omelet? It tasted as bad as it looks. Last time I will eat there!

Skip the bougie brunch spot your friend that's been to bend twice said you must must flippin try, and get to this spot. They do breakfast like you wouldn't believe. The banana pancakes maybe the best bite of pancake you'll ever have, but everything is awesome. Sure maybe it's a chain, but it's franchised and the Eugene and Bend ones hit different. Trustttttt

    Fresh fruit crepe...yum!

I am giving the Original Pancake House 5 stars for a few reasons. I called ahead and they put us on the list for a table with wheelchair access. We walked (and wheeled) my MIL over from Touchmark so this was a big A+ in my book. Excellent Breakfast! The eggs were perfectly basted. The fruit in the crepe was ripe, fresh and light. There was some added sugar, but not too much. Employees were patient, kind and service was good. Most of all, Mom enjoyed it.

Visiting Bend, was happy to see that this place was right across from our hotel, we used to go to the one in Pleasant Hill, CA before it closed down. Typical breakfast place in regards to the environment. Had the Corned Beef with eggs and upgraded to a side of French toast. Corned Beef was super good, not your typical canned version, which gives it a good taste, should have asked for it a little more done/crispy. Over medium eggs were cooked well, but the size of the eggs seemed to be real small. French toast was good with the crispy edges, but yeah not true maple syrup. It was as expected, bummed that they did not have the Irish Omelette that we would normally get in Northern CA. Our waitress, Michelle, was great and seemed to know all the local folks that step in. Miss the Original Pancake House, will be sure to visit if we are ever in the area again.

We stopped in here on the way out of town as we drove from WA to CA. It was awesome that they were open at the early hour we hit the road, and when we arrived, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. The parking lot was super dark and completely empty, so we got the pick of parking and tables. I think we went to an original pancake house in Hawaii or somewhere along our national travels with the military, but we remembered the menu and some of the things we had eaten before. Unfortunately, what we remembered and what we ended up being served were very different things. I ordered the corn pancakes ($9.50) and the waitress said "there are a lot of them, do you know that?" and I said "ok, then can I have a half order?" She ended up giving me the child's portion which is 3 pancakes instead of 6 but it was still way too much food. I also ordered the biscuit with butter and jam ($3.50), and he ordered the sourdough pancakes ($9.75). Despite being the only ones there, it took awhile to get the food to us. Once we were served, we were really disappointed in the food. Everything seemed to be lacking salt, and the flavors were just really bland and flat. These were not the pancakes we've had before, and they were just really heavy, doughy, and boring. The biscuit tasted like it was just made with leftover pancake dough so it was much of the same. The only good thing was the coffee, which was basically as good as we remembered. Overall, not a bad price for a lot of food, but that lot of food is pretty low quality. Service was not very friendly and surprisingly long wait, and definitely not worth the time or money for the product. Given how diverse and interesting the food scene is in Oregon, if I had the chance I would definitely not return to eat here again.

Hubby had classic Eggs Benedict that he said was very good. I started with a warm Chai and a Bobbin for Apples Mimosa which was magical. Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

The inside was warm and inviting and we were greeted right away. After a short wait we were seated by the window. Our server greeted us quickly and we ordered their bacon Bloody Mary with their pepper infused vodka. So good! I am very picky about my Bloody Marys and honestly so many bartenders fail to deliver the savory, spicy, umami goodness that I've come to expect and this Bloody Mary hit the spot. My husband had the Eighteen Wheeler. The biscuits were fluffy and thick without being overly dense. The gravy had a wonderful texture and was exactly what you want from your biscuits and gravy. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. It was perfectly seasoned and I appreciated the portion size. Our service was friendly and our meal was amazing. We will definitely be back next time we are in Bend!

That's really the only factor I can point to that's remotely negative but also not complaining it's an observation. I see after being there why this works for the restaurant. You order at the counter, get a number, and then sit. Since it was our first time, we wanted to look over the menu, but we ended up just going with the specials -- and honestly, they were incredible. We had a unique and delicious Portuguese sausage biscuits‑and‑gravy dish with bacon on the side, and the other plate was an eggs benedict on an amazingly light, airy muffin with tomato, perfectly poached eggs, and a Portuguese sausage link, plus potatoes. Our plates were spotless by the end. The house iced tea was also a standout -- infused with fruit and specialty tea, but without actual fruit pieces in the cup. It tasted elevated and refreshing. I also ordered a cinnamon‑cardamom coffee, which was divine. Next time -- because there will be a next time -- we're thinking of sharing the special of the day and getting a spread of fresh pastries. Highly recommend.
