If you noticed the majority of these reviews are quite old. It is now fabulous. A group of seven of us went for a wedding murder mystery. It was absolutely the most fun. There were only two actors, and everyone else are suspects from the attendees. They give you binders that help you talk to other tables and give them clues. I wish I could even explain it better, but it was so much fun. The food was very very very good and the service was superb. The timing is perfect. You can board anywhere between four and five and have a cocktail if you want. And the train leaves at five and it is done by eight. I don't think I could've taken much more than that because my stomach hurts so much from laughing . Depending on where you are, it might be a little bit of a drive, but it is so worth it. read more

It's all about the experience. This dinner train can be pricey but it's still fun. The waitresses can be very hit or miss - I've had wonderful waitresses and terrible ones. The stories can be a little weird and the actors can sometimes trail off but for the most part, they're very endearing and fun. They'll play along with you as much as you play along with them. Some things that are helpful to know: - Stay away from mixed drinks - they're very expensive and will sneak up on you! - Go to the bathroom before - the bathroom is pretty small and it's awkward getting up in the middle of the show. - The trains are very old so not always the best at heating/cooling. Dress your legs for warmth if it's cold out. - Eat a small meal before hand if you do dinner. They don't get to the main meal until almost 8pm. - It's a good deal to buy the whole bottle of wine as opposed to the glasses. - Get there early - Personally, I like being the first to get seated because the seats can be a little crowded and it's nice to nest in and not have to move again. - The waitresses have to pool tips. This part sucks because like I said, some suck. So I often tip small and then give our waitress cash directly. I know you're not supposed to, but we yell at her to keep it. Long long 4 hours. I thought the whole time what else I could have bought other then spending the money on these tickets. It's not a typical murder mystery like you'd think. It's 1 character at a time. While they are acting you have waitresses and other people they have to share the isle with that get in the way. A unique experience. We had a great evening aboard this dinner train. We arrived a little early and enjoyed some drinks prior to departure. This gave us time to get to know the other couple seated at our table. The waitress was quick to get us drinks, and she was very friendly and spirited. Every staff member on this train was friendly and engaged, you can tell they love what they do. Once the train departed, we started our 7 - 8 mph journey to Adrian and back. There are some nice views of downtown Blissfield right after departure, but the scenery quickly changes to rural farms, and with it being dark this time of year there wasn't much to see. The show itself was entertaining and the actors were talented and engaged. The only reason I almost gave this four, instead of five stars, was the show lacked a little polish. A little more rehearsing by the crew, and a bit more depth to the mystery and you have a fantastic show. They are very close. Everyone had a blast and the crew was applauded on their exit. Bravo. That being said, the show is really made by the audience participation. Make sure you come with a fun group, we had one that made it memorable. The food was delicious. I had prime rib and she had salmon, finished off with some fantastic cheesecake. Excellent wine, moderately priced. Overall, a fantastic, unique experience that I'd highly recommend. I wasn't impressed at all. The whole time I was on the train I was thinking of all the things I could be doing instead of this. Food was ok. It is not your typical murder mystery show. It is 1 character at a time and the characters aren't as funny as they think they are. I would have rather went to an upscale restaurant like Ruth Chris steakhouse for dinner. read more

This murder mystery/dinner is what you make of it. My sisters and I went to celebrate a birthday , my sister Nicole always wanted to go. As a party of 8 we tried all three entrées offered. I thought the salmon was the best, my sisters enjoyed their chicken, and the prime rib was hit or miss depending on who you asked. All in all the food was good, Especially considering that it all has to be prepared before hand and served throughout the three hour train ride. The murder mystery is kitschy and the actors and actresses were a hoot. Fortunately everyone in our train car was eager to participate and we had a great time. A bit on the pricey side (but remember you're getting more than just a meal. You're getting the train ride, the dinner and entertainment.), not something you could do every week. It was definitely a fun night. I think the cost to fun ratio is a little light, but not by much. The actors are very funny and they did a great job with our group. The beer prices are reasonable ($4 for a micro-brew), but the mixed drinks are a bit on the expensive side. I'd recommend going in the summer, once the sun set on our fall train ride, you lost some of the coolness of being on a train, as you couldn't see outside. read more

I'd skip this if I were you. We were looking forward to what was thought to be a quaint Christmassy evening. The food is mediocre. They can't cook it there, so it must be kept warm and then served. The prime rib didn't survive this. A train that travels at 7 miles an hour (as they explained) is not a train ride. You could walk about that fast. Worst of all is the entertainment. It really seemed as if they improvised most of it, and not well. There was a guitar player comedian who was the best part of it all, but not good enough to make up for the rest of it. And for all of this, we paid 70 dollars a person (drinks not included). If you go, you'll feel cheated at the end of the night. The mystery was fun. Dinner was lukewarm and not enjoyable. Ordered prime rib raw received a almost well done prime rib. Husband ordered the salmon and seem to enjoy it. It was my birthday so I received a dry cheesecake but everyone sang a Happy Birthday to me which made it special. Besides the lukewarm food. Leaving was a confusing to people paying bill then expecting to leave once tab was paid. But had to wait for others to get their credit card processing due to one card machine. read more

I have been looking forward to going here for 8 years, and finally I was able to go and boy, was I disappointed. First impressions were not great, the train cars were very outdated and the chairs were so uncomfortable! The water tasted like MOLD, to the point where I couldn't even drink it. The Soup came out first and would have been good if it were served hot, unfortunately that was not the case. The salad was decent, small, but decent. And then came the entree!!! My husband ordered the salmon and I had the vegetarian lasagna. The salmon was tiny, over cooked and dry. The rice tasted of dish soup and the beans were terrible. But nothing compared to the vegetarian lasagna!!! It was INEDIBLE! The worst dish I have EVER had out. I took two bites and immediately felt nauseous. (Later I found out by one of the employees that it was cooked days before and then frozen.) I couldn't even try dessert because I was so nauseous from the entree, but let's just say it didn't look like I was missing much. It was some sort of lemon bread pudding that everyone around me was underwhelmed by. This horrible meal was then topped of by a bathroom trip from hell. The toilet/sink was out of water, so the airplane type toilet was overflowing with toilet paper and when I went to wash my hands the sink blew/sprayed air and water all over the front of my dress. I voiced my complaints to the both of our servers and the train conductor. Neither of them offered any compensation even though we ended up paying close to $200 (for 2 people) for a mediocre show and a meal that I wouldn't even feed to my dog. Beyond disappointed. This was a very fun experience. They did a murder mystery during our dinner that was based on Desperate Housewives, very funny and cute. We only had one problem though- when they took our reservation they set it for charlotte, michigan, so when we got there they didn't have the table ready. Then it took them forever to set it up, they acted like it was our fault that they wrote down the wrong reservation. But after that it was good. The show was very entertaining and the food was great. We had been looking forward to the dinner train for weeks; it is something we have wanted to do for a long time. We made a day of it; met our friends in town for some pre train shopping and fun. Then, when we arrived at the train, we were told that we did not have a reservation. Our friend called a month ago, made the reservation and had them hold twelve tickets on her credit card. She gave them all twelve dinner orders, including two special diet orders. We were told "Sorry, there is nothing we can do". So our group of twelve decided to go have diner at the Stables in town. While we were being served our drinks, the gal that had made the reservation got a phone call, asking where we were- for the train! When she told them that we were told we didn't have a reservation, she was told that the reservation was for the train in Charlotte. We are all from Monroe, about 30 minutes from Blissfield. Charlotte is more than 2 hours away from Monroe. Our friend told the person on the phone that she clearly reserved 12 tickets for the Blissfield Train. Again, she was told, "Oh we are so sorry". Needless to say it was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this dinner train to anyone. We had a large group, some had to pay baby sitters, some had to rearrange work schedules, etc. thinking we were going to enjoy a wonderful unique event, only to be disappointed. We were a party of 4 - all ordered prime rib. It was SO fatty that we couldn't eat about a third of it. The cheese cake was fake. You'd think for $69.95/person they'd put more effort into it! Not to mention I ordered coffee; which was sitting around WAY TOO long and was burnt. Our other beverage was bleach-tasting water straight from the municipal water supply. Could they not supply filtered? For all of the bragging about 5-star cuisine, I guess we expected more. The show was really, really lame...what there was of it. There was an hour lag with nothing between the person dying and then when we are 4 minutes from the station they come back and quickly gave a run-down of who didn't do it and who the guilty party was as we pulled into the station. Very over-priced for what you get...our party was disappointed and won't be going back. read more
