Came here on a recent weeknight during an outing in the Ohio City district. We were looking for some basic pub grub and a spot for grabbing a beer and this place checked those marks for us. We settled in to a low-top table and the bar server came over for both drink and food orders. Beers started flowing (Yay! They had Smithwicks on tap!) and grub orders headed to the kitchen. Two of us ordered their fish-n-chips...how could you not, in an Irish pub style bar...and the third a Reuben sandwich. My basket of fish-n-chips were plump, juicy and (beyond) piping hot but unfortunately the batter lacked flavor. I did like their tartar sauce because it included dill, even if it was on the thin side from a consistency perspective. The fresh cut fries were seasoned well and semi-crispy. Their cole slaw was rather tasteless and rough chop cut, so I did not care for it all that much. All in all, a very decent pub style meal with enough menu options to choose from and a reasonable offering of on-tap beers to choose from.

This place has the greatest wings I have ever had in my life. The service was fast despite a crowd , I love this place and everything it has to offer in this world

We stopped in based on the recommendation of another local business. From the moment we walked in, the bar tender(also our waiter and possibly the owner) made us feel welcomed. While serving, we would get into little conversations with him and he took a group photo of us. The food portions were large and the meat was tender and delicious. With all of the restaurant options around this area, i will choose to re-visit The Old Angle soon

Was looking for dinner on Saturday after work and before a CIM concert and downtown was crazy with the Guardians playoff game so I figured on grabbing something in Ohio City; of course the parking was crazy but I found street parking a couple of blocks off the main drag and walked to the Old Angle Tavern which I had been meaning to try. Walking in I was surprised since I was expecting an older bar, instead it was a clean modern space with a bar on the inside wall and some tables and booths. I was seated at the bar and ordered off the menu using the QR code. The menu is compact and focused, but there was fish and chips so I was happy. The food came up very quickly, hot and fresh. Two nice sized fillets of cod with a nice batter crust, a large portion of fries and a small cup of slaw. The fish was fresh and mild, well cooked, the fries and slaw were both good if nothing special. There were a couple of nice touches that helped to elevate the meal; the fish was topped with some coarse sea salt that gave a nice flavor pop and the ketchup was made in house with some little chunks of tomatoes. Overall a very nice fish and chips. I do have to shout out the staff that night; they were clearly short handed and business was picking up, yet they kept hustling to keep up and had a great attitude. Nice to see and much appreciated. The Old Angle Tavern is a great place to grab a drink and/or some good food. Great location in the middle of W.25th Street in Ohio City. Not as high profile as some of the nearby places, but nothing wrong with a well done classic.

Tried this place on Monday which is wing night $1.25 each for wing dings , not a super good deal but I guess it's ok for a taste, my boyfriend placed an order of 6 and also got the roast beef sandwich, I ordered the house burger plus a beer , I had to take mine home became midway through my belly felt unreasonably swollen for just a few bites maybe it was the beer ,the bartender was attentive enough being that it was only him...nothing too fancy about the place typical Irish pub. I was thinking since we live around the corner they would be ok for a quick go to until I found a long piece of metal in my food!! Old Angle how dare you, I'm very disappointed. Never again Very very unacceptable, what if I didn't pay attention and swallowed it ?? Could of ruined my life

One of the only good bars on 25th. Good place to grab a proper pint of Guiness! The food is outstanding. Highly recommend the steak salad and the buffalo wings. I have not had a bad meal. You can order anything from the menu and not go wrong.

Went back like I said I would. Service was awesome. I cease there for lunch. This time I went for the Sheppard Pie. I now have a go to comfort food.

Being a Monday, it was difficult to find an open bar in this area. We waited a few minutes for this place to open (I think it was 4:00). My boyfriend wanted Guiness on draft, and this Irish bar was just what we were looking for. The bartender (she has been there for 20 years) was personable and we enjoyed the 80s music with accompanying videos on one screen. I was hungry, and ordered the great Craig veggie grilled sandwich (I asked for added pesto) that came with fries that had a fantastic seasoning. Our bartender told us it was Old Bay. I would totally order this plate again.

    Pretzel Bites!

Yummy pretzel bites! Great music and multiple TVs to watch a game. Super friendly people. Love this place for a drink, good food and hometown feel.

Fantastic pub! If you are into Premier League football, this is where you need to be! The craft beer selections could be better, but they have a good IPA and some English beer on tap, so you won't go thirsty. The food options are fantastic as well. Try the pulled pork sandwich. It will leave you full and happy. Can't recommend this place enough

Great old time bar in 25th street area that balances out all its trendy nearby restaurants/bars. Good Irish food and beer. Crowd is a bunch of fun loving people both young and old.

The food arrived fairly quickly and I was impressed at the size of the meal. A large fillet perfectly fried and crispy. We did try to find a table with outlets to charge our phones and they didn't have any.

You won't even be able to stand. As for my other visit, it was on a Friday night. A nice sized crowd, full bar. Sports game on the television. A nice atmosphere for a neighborhood bar. A great touch is the 1 pinball machine in the corner. Older game but it does take up something to do with friends. As with service we were told that the bar is extremely behind by a rude bartender named Meg. You can tell she was overwhelmed and just seemed to be having a rough day. A few minutes later we were told by staff that the kitchen was now closed. Pretty strange as the menu is mainly all bar served fried food or burgers etc. The bartender also announced that they were out of fish as well. I continued to order drinks, they were cold and tasted as advertised. About an hour or so later , the kitchen was then re opened when the bar was less crowded. I order a dozen wings, garlic Parmesan with ranch. The wings were real solid. Nice and crispy and the garlic and parm combo was just enough. The basket of fries we got were average fries. Not crispy, nor salty but atleast they were hot. The prices were about average, no complaints about that. Overall, the bar does not seem to handle stress or large crowds very well. My wings were good, fries were average like I said. My friends attend this bar often and did tell me that this bar is not like this usually. May have been a rough day. I assume I will be back again, I wouldn't pick this place to go to but the location is close enough to the area we hang out. Not so much of any certain type of theme at the bar but I did notice the staff recognize many patrons by name so it will continue to be the neighborhood bar for many. Overall a 6.7 out of 10.

The boudin balls were great! Very similar to New Orlean's verisons so that was great! We also tried the hot rocks which were also great! Our table tried both gumbos, the jambalaya and the crab cakes. All of which were delicious and the closest you'll find to NOLA style around here! For dessert my mom scored the last creme brulee which made her day and the rest of us had beignets. Their beignets are definitely not Cafe Beignet or Loretta's level, but they are still absolutely delicious as their own dessert, like a mix between a funnel cake and a beignet! Drinks were also amazing! It's one of like 3 places you can get a Pimms cup in Cleveland! I was very excited to see the Polish boy (and vegan option no less) I didn't have much of a choice. GF ordered the vegan pierogi platter with vegan kielbasa on a bed of kraut. Firstly the fried cheese was head and shoulders above any mozz sticks or anything of the sort that I have had in memory. The breading is seasoned and crispy and heaven on earth. The cheese is PIPING. Like you will burn yourself if you, like me, have no patience. The accompanying tomato sauce is also steaming. So good. The Polish boy was also in a league of its own. Love that they have a vegan version. What a combo. Probably one of Cleveland's most important community contributions. We ordered the latkes to go and they were orgasmic. What a special place.
